Message: A VERY Happy Birthday to Jake! Our very own Jake! I would sing but would hate to make anyone sick, so just know Jake, there's a hug and a kiss waiting for you the next time we cross paths at Cruise Night! And Patricia, I think you and I should get together and STALK little Jimmy Schroeder until he "tells the rest of the story" (referring to THE KISS)! How about it girlfriend? Little old ladies need thrills too, Little Jimmy ... get with it! hehehe! It would be nice if one of the guys could chime in here with some support.
Happy Birthday Russ, I'm playing "Charlena", all day, in your honor. Have a great one, maaaann!! And Doris, Come on out for Cruise Night, March 28. I need hugs and kisses too

Message: Jim, truly enjoy reading these remembered experiences; first dates, dances and, of course "The Kiss" that has opened the door to some great memories for all of us, (even if somewhat embarrassing). Thank you and please keep sharing. Also, its fun to see how we have, lets say, "aged gracefully" by having our current photo added to the site. In fact, John how do we do this?
It's EZ Billie, just email me a current pic and I will do the rest.

Message: Just wanted to wish all Cougars a Happy New Year (Chinese) which when I was in school was not noticed now one of my son's is married to a part Viet Namese so we celebrate that along with our background of Filipino ancestry. By the way Philippine Independence day use to be July 4th independence from the U.S. but several years ago it was changed to June 12th independence from Spain so much for my lesson on history.
Well Happy Chinese Vietnam and Phillipine New Year to you too, Eugene

Message: It was in the 4th grade at Eucalyptus grade school that I asked a girl out on a date. In the old '53 Ford my Grandmother drove me to her house. It was a new experience for me and wasn't sure what to do. I got out of the car and walked up to her door and knocked. Her mom came to the door then went back inside. It seemed like a long time before she came out. I walked her to the car and opened the back seat door for her then I got in the front seat. On our way to the Plaza theater I looked back and she had slid way down low in the seat so she couldn't be seen. We saw Francis The Mule Joins the Army or something like that. At school I hung out with Tim Lyons. BTW, Janet, what about "Boom Boom Sherry"?
Thanks Jim for the story.

Message: The story on CBS This Morning which ran on Monday morning, mentioned by Mary Ann W-M, featured Sergeants Cognac and Coffman(?) of the Hawthorne PD, who invented the Coffee with a Cop program in 2011. There were some scenes in Hawthorne, but most of the story told how they teach their method of community involvement across the country, specifically in Charleston, SC in the segment on yesterday. It is visible at the CBS This Morning website. There was an interesting story on Inglewood, the mayor and his plans for the racetrack site in USA Today on Monday. NFL at Hollywood Park?

Message: I was kidding, JB, honest. I guess my humor didn't come across in my post. We should NOT stalk this poor woman. But it would be fun to find out the ending. But I suspect Jim did that to us on purpose. :)
Yes I know you were. Melanie Mullins was my Cheri Parker. I've written about her before on Feedback. At one time, trying to find her, and doing the 5 dollar lookup on the Internet, and finding a likely candidate. Called her but it wasn't the right Melanie. We talked for a few minutes and she thought it was so sweet that I was trying to make contact after some 45 years. Now thinking it's best to just keep the 3rd grader in my mind. You'd be surprised how many Melanie Mullins there are out there. Like finding a Jimmy Smith.

Message: I loved Jim's story, The Kiss and propose we have a nation-wide (well, a California-wide) hunt for the woman in question to submit the ending. I myself, after experiencing the awfulness of widowhood, found my old boyfriend on Facebook (via Ray Rasmussen's page)and in fact attended my 50th HHS reunion with him (since we met right after high school, it was, in a sense, our 50th reunion too). Yes, the internet is an amazing place.
Hi Pat, Like the Beatles said, let it be. The beauty is in the story itself. The time when we all picked out that very first, very special infatuation that we couldn't stop thinking about. Also, be careful what you wish for. Cheri may see little Jimmy as a snotty nosed ogler with deviant underpinnings. Or she may now be a third striker with an axe to grind. Just enjoy the story and let it bring back your youthful memories.

Message: What really surprises me about THE KISS is the fact that it would appear more men than women have inquired about the fascinating "rest of the story". I would have imagined we women would be clamoring for the result of the painstakingly search for Cheri. Pleasantly surprising though, it appears we have a few romantic-types among the male CTers. How nice! Now dang it Jimmy! PLEEEEEEEZ DO tell the rest of the story. I can't wait another minute! PLEEEEEEEZ!!!!!!!!!
Yeah Jimmie, Make something up, and hurry.

Message: More class names forthcoming as soon as Bonnie returns my call. Hey, anyone remember the 10pm curfew besides Nancy, Jonathan, Bobby and I (hate to admit how many times we were pulled over in my old blue Buick). The Hawthorne Police always let us off and told us to say that we were just going home from a show! Well, at least most of the time, we were. Although I was painfully shy in High School I do recall a particular after football game dance/party....my "friends" dared me to walk across the dance floor and ask a certain boy to dance. He definitely was not "just any boy, but the best looking, tall, blond haired guy in school." As I crossed the crowded dance floor I assured myself he would say, "no" afterall he didn't even know my name, but then I didn't know his either, help but it was too late because there I was standing in front of him and looking up into his blue eyes hearing myself say, "will you please dance with me?" I don't even recall what he said if anything....but my feet were moving and we were dancing to a slow song. He was my hero and saved me from total embarrasment. If you are out there, "thank you once again for the dance." See guys you weren't alone, we girls had those stars in our eyes for you too!
I could never ask a girl to dance cuz...... I couldn't dance Thanks Billie

Message: On Valentine's day, 15 years ago, I was sitting on Howard Noodleman's lap giving him little kisses...when he pulled out my engagement ring (scared yah for a minute, didn't I Sidney.) and asked me to marry him. So this morning we decided to relive that special moment.. however, we just couldn't get enough momentum or torque to get off the couch without splitting a gut, so we lost the moment laughing. We decided that it was best to just use all the energy and effort to clean up and go to lunch. Isn't it weird how the same couch can just suck your ass down and hold it like a lead balloon in just a few short years. Happy Valentine's day Howie Noodleman. I love you

How'd I do Sid. I hope everyone knows that the Pancake Breakfast is coming up on Feb 28, The Hawthorne Historical Soc. has planned some goodies for us. I have a fist full of tickets to sell before I can get that glow in the dark Rosary, no wait, that was Catholic school. Anyway, Jan and I will be at the Pancake breakfast celebrating Jan's first official day as a retired man. For once I'll be able to boldly hold up my bacon and whistle for John Baker to come over to see that it's either over-done or under cooked. Oh yah, this is going to be a lot of fun. (revenge is sweet) In addition, The VFW breakfast is this Sunday and the Pancake breakfast tickets will be on sale there as well. 5.00 a ticket and you too can whistle for JB on what's wrong with your dish. It's better than the water dunk game at the fair. See you there Sidney. LYM
Hi Til, thanks for the shameless plug for the Pancake breakfast. This will be a fun event with great pancakes by Norb Huber. The bacon, I am not cooking so please blame Janny for not helping. Hope to see lots of our Ctowners there.
