Why do I need a User Name and Password?
The User Name and Password is needed to get you into your area of the Database. With the old system, you would fill out a form on the website to add or change your email address, or to add your home address info. That form would be sent to me in an email. I would have to manually transfer all the info to the database. Now it's updated in REAL time, by you, when you fill in your information and click on the "Update Info" button, alleviating the need to manually transfer the data.

What will this information be used for?
The information you provide will be used for the primary purpose of finding you at Reunion time, by your Class Reunion Committee Members. We all know how hard it is to locate classmates after 10 years. This system should virtually eliminate that problem. If everyone keeps their information up to date, ie email address, home address information.
Your information WILL NOT be given to anyone else. Even now I get requests from alumni asking if I know where a certain person lives. These emails are ignored by me and are forwarded to the "asked about" party. It is then up to them to contact the inquiring party.

What do I do if I DON'T receive my Password via email?
As soon as you click on the OK button, your Password is immediately sent to the email address you've provided, so make sure that email address is typed in correctly, otherwise you will not receive your Temporary Password.
Also, depending on your email client (Hotmail, Earthlink, and AOL, in particular), their SPAM software may be a little too aggressive and your Password info will end up in your Email Trash or Spam directory. Please check those email directories for your Password email.

Why do I need to fill in all the Information?
You need to fill in all the information so we can contact you. If you just add your address and don't add your city and state, we don't know where you live. If you don't add your address and add your city and state, we STILL don't know where you live. Actually, you don't have to add your phone number , but that would help.

Why do I need to add the last 4 digits of my Social Security Number or Drivers License Number? Isn't that intrusive?
You need a number that you can readily find. I figured a SS or DR number was in your wallet, so if you forget your User Name and/or Password, you can enter it along with an email address. That way you can retrieve your forgotten User Name and/or Password.
It DOES NOT have to be the last 4 digits of your SS or DR number, but it DOES need to be a number you KNOW, otherwise I could be emailing your Password to anyone.

Why does the system reset when I use the BACK button?
The system only resets until you add your Security Number, AND click on the ADD INFO button. This is to keep your PREVIOUS information private. Once you've signed in for the first time AND added a Security number, then your information will NOT reset and you can change just the information that needs to be changed.
