Message: Kudos to Glenn Crist for another successful HHS reunion, Class of 1964. Glenn and his group did a great job with Friday nights mixer and the reunion on Saturday night. It seems like any time you get a group of old Cougars together everyone has a good time. Glenn, the photo cds and video dvds will be in the mail to you soon. Remind Jeff and Diane (and anybody else who has photos they would like to include) to send me their photos on a cd or dvd if they would like to have them included with mine. They can send them to Rich Sloan, 26441 Broken Bit Lane, Laguna Hills, Ca 92653. (310) 266-7325 Again Glenn, many thanks for putting together a great weekend.
Rich, and thanks to you and Mary for the tableful of food and drinks for the Picnic. Sorry the turnout wasn't better.

Message: Hello class of '64 reunion attendees. I just ordered an additional 48 commemorative glasses. If you didn't receive yours at the reunion or would like to purchase additional glasses, they cost $2.65 each. If you are in the Los Angeles area, I can deliver them the next time I'm in the Southland. Otherwise, I'll figure out how to get them to you. Sue Bierman King is more than half way to the minimum order she needs for the Hawthorne High School Class of 1964 50 Year Reunion T-shirts. If you are interested and need her e-mail address, send me a query and I'll reply.

Message: What a great time at the 1964 reunion. It was such fun to see everyone. Hope we can do it again soon, maybe combined with other classes. Many thanks to Glenn and John and all the others who put in such hard work to ensure a good time for all of us. I stayed an extra night at the hotel, and must have been the last Cougar to leave, before heading back to NY. Miss CA already.
Thank you for making the trek out, Pat.

Message: I am sorry to report the passing on September 24 of David Baca, our friend/classmate/president from 1969. Thanks to his best friend, Frank Braun, for forwarding the sad news. I knew Dave at Intermediate and at HHS. He was good then and he must have become a fine police officer. We shared a liking for the music of Simon and Garfunkel, which he knew by heart. "And the leaves that are green turn to brown/and they scatter in the wind/and they crumple in your hand," as the song goes....
Hi John, Thanks for informing your classmates. Our condolences to the class of 69 and to David's family.

Message: Lois Odatey mentioned something that I had long since forgotten. The coin tied up in the corner of a hanky and pinned to your clothes. I remember my mother doing that many times. By the time I had children hankys were a thing of the past. They were on their own. Good memories can be so fun.
Yes they can Marilyn, thanks.

So far no one but Janet has said they will be there I would plan on about 40-60. Who's coming to the Picnic?

Message: Hi Tom Shelley. Wow. Someone else remembers Egg Town? Back in the early 1950's, my mom would give us 3 kids a penny for every 5 or 10 dandelions we picked from our lawn. lol The 3 of us would walk to Hawthorne Blvd down 138th St to Egg Town to squander our money on penny candy or if we had enough, pool our money together, and purchase a nickel candy bar and split it 3 ways. At other times, when I was by myself, ages 5 and 6, my mom would write a note for me to give to the cashier at Egg Town, so that I could buy her cigarettes. lol Lucky Strikes was one brand she liked. She would wrap the money tightly into a corner of a little hanky, knot it and pin it to my blouse. Thirty-five cents sounds about right. lol Can you imagine sending a little kid alone now? lol I sure would like to meet up with everyone at the park in El Segundo and say hi. I wished I lived closer, or at least a day's drive away. I know you will all have a great time. Lois OSborne 6-5269.
Hi Lois, Great memories from days gone by. Manny's Egg Town...you didn't need ID to buy beer
