Message: Got this email from Courtney Lamonica yesterday, she writes:
My name is Courtney LaMonica and I'm the daughter of Joe and Brigitte LaMonica, both Hawthorne High Alumni. My father, Joe LaMonica, was Class of '71. My mother, Brigitte LaMonica (Armbrust) was Class of ’72. My uncle, Robert Armbrust, is also Hawthorne High Alumni, Class of ‘75.
My parents were high school sweethearts and have now been married 41 years. The reason I'm contacting you is to inform you that my father recently passed away this last Wednesday, August 27, one day before his 61st birthday. He absolutely loved browsing the Cougartown website and reminsicing about the good old days. He would tell me all his amazing memories of high school including meeting my mother and all the fun times at 26th street, The reason I'm telling you all this is because it would mean the world to my mother and I if you could please post something about his passing. I know you don't have to do this and you don't know me but I would appreciate it more than you know. He truly loved this website and Hawthorne High. His memorial service is this Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 717 N. Bradford Ave., Placentia, CA 92870 at 1:00pm. Again, if you could please post a little something about him, I would be forever grateful. Thank you again.

Message: Wow, thank you, John Pritchard, for the free publicity, LOL. Actually I appear again in a close-up about 15 minutes before the end of the movie, in the concert scene. It was all so much fun to do. And I agree about Marissa and the amazing leads too, John Lithgow and Alfred Molina. As an extra added kick, they are going to interview me for the title of Outstanding Astorian for my tiny tiny part in the film. LOL, talk about my 15 seconds of fame. Abd yes, the city is pretty amazing. I just had company from CA and it was fun to see it through their eyes. But pretty soon, I will get to see my lovely LA and enjoy that too. I do miss it.

Message: My Feedback Select hasn't been working in a week or so. So I started from scratch and googled Feedback Select. It finally got me here, but I am guessing that is not the real solution. Good luck with fixing it, John, and hope you had a very happy birthday, even though you had to be working on the CT site!

Message: I saw the movie "Love is Strange" the other day. Our friend Patricia K. Bagby appears around the 30-minute mark from the start, where she is twice seen sitting in the waiting-area of an apartment-rental office. Everyone acts well, especially Marisa Tomei, who can do no wrong. "I luv huh" as New Yorkers say. Like some other current films ("Magic in the Moonlight" and "The Trip to Italy"), the best part may be the scenery of the locations where it was made. New York City is great, the city so nice they named it twice, even if you're from L.A.

Message: Hey amigo JB! Hope ya had a good birthday! I figured the real reason you created this site was so ya can catch all the chicks LOL! You're a good man (Mother Hen) for keeping us all together here in "Cougartown" ! I received my T shirt looks great , thanks! .. Now , Tom and Clark , Clark , life still continued after you graduated from school . 40 plus years later you're still acting like your a senior , Grow up dude ... And Tom , I hear ya amigo! Stop wasting your time on him (not worth it) .. Although you do manage to create a flurry of activity here at JB.s "HEN HOUSE" It seems all the hens get ruffled up when your "fox attitude" shows up here LOL! Speak your mind kid , but use better words.

Message: Happy Birthday Johnny B. Goode. If I had known your birthday was coming up, I'd have bought you a glass of wine. Rest up, there's a big month ahead of us. Cruise Night on the 20th, the Class of 1964's 50 year reunion on the 26th & 27th and the Cougartown Picnic on the 28th. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. And, just as you told me the checks are starting to roll in from reunion celebrants. I'm also getting requests for the reunion schedule, so here it is in a nutshell: Friday's Reception from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday's Reunion from 6:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. We have the Hospitality Suite after 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Message: I've read all the comments on feedback and the ongoing argumentative banter is over..PERIOD! I do want to clarify for everyone who is on Cougartown: This fight started four years ago when a cowardly individual hiding behind a computer issued disparaging and rude insults directed at coach Alex Bravo and various other teachers and coaches from HHS, all of whom are either deceased or long since retired and quite old. These folks ere not all perfect but they did dedicate their professional careers to teaching us in the classrooms and coaching us on the athletic fields of HHS. I will never tolerate cowardly insults like these directed at the folks who helped us grow into young adults. If John allows anyone else to do this in the future, I will personally track the person down, take them to the woodshed and thrash then until they bleed scarlet and gold and beg forgiveness for their cowardly actions. The fight is OVER, PERIOD, THE END!!
