Message: Thanks for the D-land review, Sharon. I have heard the Matterhorn is a bit rough. I have never ridden it because it always seemed to be under repair whenever I was there. I have never been to the new part of the park (California adventure, I think it is called). Now my friend wants to go to D-land for 3 days in a row. This is after I will be going with my son for 2 days. I will know it like the back of my hand. We may go to Legoland (with my son and grandkids) and to Universal (with my friend). I will never want to see a theme park again.

Message: Funny that Stan mentioned Maxine Woo. Just the other day I thought of her brother, Harry (class of '66). Actually googled him but there was more than one. I have often wondered where he ended up. Very nice and smart person. I seem to remember his first day at York, I think maybe in the fifth grade? I think he wore a cowboy outfit to school that day. The Gravatron was here at the Mid-State Fair - my 9 year old grandson must have gone on it twenty times the day I took him. I didn't go...I told him about riding a ride like it at POP when I went with his Papa Jerry before we were married in'67, I was very happy to be wearing black pants and being there at night because the dang ride made me wet my pants!
Too much info, Myrna.

Message: Hey Pat - I never pass up a fast crazy ride at the Disney Parks. I will say that the Matterhorn could use some seat cushions! Went to Dianeyland with my son and daughter-in-law in March to celebrate our birthdays and we rode every coaster and fast ride at least once. Loved the new Cars ride at California Adventure (we went on this one twice). Going to Disneyworld in December with my other son and his family for more.

Message: John, I mailed the pictures the day that I last added to feedback. I am thinking you should have them by now. You can do whatever you want with them, if it wasn't for this web site you made I would have thrown them away since I don't know anyone in them and I went to Eucalyptus. Happy that you have a use for them, I hope someone recognizes some of these kids. Cindy
Thanks Cindy

Message: John Baker, I spent years mourning my husband's passing. I then realized what a rut I was in and I have challenged myself in so many ways and not failed myself. Even if it takes time off my life, I owe it to myself to live. My dear Jim told me he wanted me to live life to the fullest after he was gone and that is what I am doing, to the best of my ability. So come join me on a roller coaster or the ring of fire or the Gravitron or dancing at the Copa or singing in a flash mob. Life is too short to do otherwise. There isn't going to be another chance. :)
Go for it Pat

Message: Hey John, thanks for your reminder above the Tshirt preorders. I just did my paypal payment for $21.50 and will pick up a XL from you at a September event. When I entered the info, I mistakenly put XXL, but I'm not planning on growing between now and Cruise Night or the Picnic so let's keep me at a XL. Gracias.
Thanks Tom.

Message: So, does anyone know about the roller coaster rides at D-land or Universal? Which are the smoothest, scariest, or least likely to madden my chiropractor if I ride them? When my late hub was alive, we went to Universal in Florida and he went on the Incredible Hulk ride. I am surprised he didn't become my "late hub" that day. In my infinite wisdom, I refused to go on it, but he went on it and came off looking like h-e-double toothpicks.
There is a time when you have to give them up, Pat

Message: Hey Cougs, they had a ride like that at the Long Beach Pike, back in the late 40's early 50's, as soon as we would we get to the Pike, we would go to that ride and sneak in the back and go underneath the ride, the Sailors had only 1 pocket in their uniforms, left breast pocket where they would put all their money, they would show off for all the girls by turning upside down and there goes all their change, we would find enough to ride the Cyclone Racer a couple of times, and get eats. John the $ is in the Mail for the T-Shirts. Later Don
Hi Don, thanks man.

Message: Patty, that ride you're describing at POP had two (2) names: "Whirlpool" and "Rodam". It defied gravity. The momentum would be too great to allow one to fall or break away from the wall. As the floor slipped away from under one's feet, a daunting feeling of fear mixed with exhilaration prevailed. Such a small, confined space amid twenty other people in that cylindrical-shaped configuration turned out to be a delightful experience.

Message: Last night I was playing some cds from 70s groups. I pled the best of the Grass Roots. They had a hit called Live for Today. I about early 1974 we had a big green marquee on the corner of El Segundo and Inglewood. It had been donated by one of the classes of the early 70s. Somebody (probably the senior class) put up a message that read " Live for today! This prompted complaints from teachers, parents and community member who felt the message was inappropriate for high school students. I wonder if the class of '74, celebrating their 40th this month and are parents and grandparents would still think this was a good message? I thought it was just a sign of the times telling us all to enjoy life's journey, not just our destinations.

Message: I just got back from PA and the Wayne County Fair. I wound up riding some crazy rides---notably the Ring of Fire (terrifying, but it was fun too), and the Gravitron. Does anyone remember that ride from POP? It is a cylinder and you stand against the wall and it spins and the floor drops out and you get stuck to the sides. I used to love it as a teenager. So what the heck is an old lady doing riding these rides? I am going to Disneyland and maybe Universal when I go out for the 50th reunion, so I figured I would challenge myself to see if I could do rides. Well, I am still alive.
Practice practice practice....

Message: Hey John! I placed the T-shirt pre-order, but the link to pay didn't work. So I added it to my dues payment, in case you're wondering where the extra $47.95 came from.
Hi Alan, Yes the Tshirt Debit thingy is working for some and not for others. I will fix it as soon as I have a chance. In the meantime you all can do what Alan just did if you have to use a debit card, or just send a check by snail mail. Thanks much Alan
