Message: Just a reminder that the breakfast for the Haw. VFW has been cancelled for the month of June. (Father's day won out). Will resume as usual on July 20th and thereafter every 3rd Sunday of the month. And the week before July 4th and before you go drop a crap-load of money at some peckerwood firework stand, be sure to see us on Haw. Blvd and El Segundo and support the VFW and the City of Haw. Our booth will be where it has been for the last few years, in the parking lot in front of Albertson's market and just south of Popeye's chicken.

Message: The California state track meet was last weekend and no one came close to breaking the HHS national record in the mile relay. The winning time was 3:11 and change and our record is 307.4. Still some national meets coming but I think our record will still stand after 29 years of challenges. Another reason to be proud to be a Cougar!!

Message: Sidney - Is this a Cougar siting >>>> Jody Weller Halberg and I spotted Bill Shultz in the market over by the produce isle thumping the casabas. We rushed him and nearly made him pass out. After doling out hugs and kisses we discussed the prices of bird seed and how to trim roses and where the prune juice was located and did it come in small cans or not. There was a time that we all would have left and gone for an afternoon toddy, but NOT ANYMORE!! So did I make the siting list or not.

I even remember my mom saying the "The girls" at NCR all thought he was HOT! He doesn't deserve a break now! Heck, half the reason I became a Fireman was to "Get the Chicks" like Crawford. It never worked out like that for me....I shudda gone with the #2 choice which was to be a brain surgeon....still might! :) Nice hearing from you & Ron! Now get over here! Message: Aloha John! Unlike Clark, I don't pull people over to check there I.D's but I did engage a N.C. man visiting Maui last week. I teased him & asked why he'd want to leave here for N.C??? When he mentioned that he grew up in Manhattan Beach I had to point out that I also was from "that area." He then told me that "HE" graduated in '78 from HIS! We'd never met but I told him his name, Glenn McCarroll was very familiar. When he said his dad was an HPD cop I asked "Rick?" Sure enough, it was Rick's son! Fraser, this is the motor cop I was asking you about!!! I remember him from my Reserve Fireman days at HFD. No, Bruce Bradford, Nowhere on my badge did it say "Piss Ant Volunteer!" I still am dealing with insecurity issues from the way you abused me!!! :) Anyway I let him know that his dad was THEE Coolest Cop around and my favorite. (It surely wasn't Crawford, who broke raw Halloween eggs in my pockets with his stickin' flashlight! I remain traumatised by that event, my jeans still reek with rotten egg odor and I will one day settle the score with him. I plan on putting that flashlight somewhere where "it won't shine!" I recall that on a Saturday morning I went over to visit Greg Kennedy's mother at her house after hearing Greg was killed the night before While I was knocking on her door, a "Sympathetic Rick McCarroll" also showed up on duty. I told Glenn how great his dad was and how cool it was to meet him. Also, thanks to CT, I've been in touch with Bob Ruggeri and Larry Clark! I'll see Bob next year when his son has his wedding just down the road from my place. You do great things with CT John, which is a whole lot more than I can say for Bradford & Crawford! Love you, Man! Mahalo! Gotta get ready for another Beach Day!

Message: Cougar sighting! Just met Joshua Barera (HHS '08) at the Big 5 on El Segundo. He was trying to sell me some hiking boots for a hiking trek I have in the Santa Monicas in two weeks. He was amazed when I told him graduated in '76. I think he was surprised I was still alive! I guess I'm just an old dude. I encouraged him to go on Cougartown and get involved. John you said I had one more person to find. Am I done now?

They beat the Beavers like a rented mule twice and lets hope the former Cougar can get to Omaha for another run at at another championship....And out of curiosity JB, is 15 the biggest B-day day at Cougartown?
