Message: When you guys were at the concert, did you notice the band member on the left hand corner? The one with the grey hair and black rimmed glasses. When they were here, he was having way more fun then he should have been allowed to have. Just made it even more fun.
I missed that guy.

Message: Another incredible concert last night by Brian, Al, and David at the Greek. Thanks to Glenn Crist for getting the tickets and supplying the van. John did a great job driving us. Best of all was spending the evening with good friends.
Yes it was a fun night at the Greek with Glenn Crist and his nephew Andrew, Bob and Karen, Linda Huthmaker, and Rich and Mary Sloan. Also saw Janet Burkett and her grand daughter, Kirsten, and Steve Fraser. Pam Fees, I was looking for you too. I'm sure more were there too. Let us know and thanks to Glenn for setting it up and for letting me drive his brand new Dodge.

Message: Cougar sighting! I went to my Chase bank branch here in Manhattan today and when I parked in their parking lot close to the pier there was a guard making sure no beach-goers were using the lot. I asked her if she was having a busy day and we started to chat. It was Danielle Finland(HHS '08). Had a nice talk and she lived near Rosecrans just west of Inglewood Ave. I encouraged her to check out Cougartown and I went to do my banking. Hey Sloey: No banners no cheerleading, no skirts, just good luck and chatting somebody up. Chalk up another for the "Cougar Stalker"!
Clark, Good News, there are only 2 more Cougars left that you haven't sighted.

So here is my story; Newell, Gene and Larry Cole got to ride home in Larry's 56 Chevy. I was deemed Chevy worth about mid Oct and got a ride home till the end of football. Message: Just had to comment about the Marines. My Dad, Newell Endicott Sr., was a proud Marine--always a Marine. He even pronounced my name "Marine". I still have that patriotic feeling he instilled in his family to this day. All five of my family, Mom, Dad, sister Helen, me, brother Newell were all born in a different state thanks to the Marines! Newell was born in the Camp Pendleton hospital. Thank heavens as we ended up in Southern California!
That's the Marines, Maurine - Always ready no matter where they are

Message: Not a Cougar sighting but worth a posting: I heard through the grapevine that Tom Duel('74) was back in town and working down the street from me. I just walked down to the restaurant he works , (Fonzs)on Manhattan Ave. and asked the host if Tom was working tonight. He came right over and we chatted like no time had passed in the 37 years since we last saw each other. The last time we met was on a football field at Whittier college. I was the place-kicker for occidental and I had no idea Tom was on the opposing team. It was just an extra point after Occidental scored. The snap was bad and I decided to pick it up and run with it. Turning to my left three Whittier players were set to kill me so I turned right. Tom was coming straight at me, put his helmet into my chest and knocked me out. unfortunately for Whittier, I threw the ball as he hit me and my tight end caught it for two points. Tom stood on top of me and said "Clark are you o.k.? Not knowing it was Tom I said "Who the heck are you?" He said "It's Tom Duel!" I said get off of me Tom!" He said Ralph Fallone and Dale Halbeck were in the stands. We shook hands and got back to the game and hadn't seen each other since that night in '76. he still looks the same just 37 years older and it was good to see a fellow Cougar!
Thanks Clark, you always seem to find a Cougar lurking in the woods

Message: Not sure if this qualifies as a Cougar sighting but here goes. I was getting a haircut this morning when I glanced at the TV and saw Dennis Johnson class of '71, being interviewed for an earthquake preparedness story. When the earthquake building started shaking, poor old Dennis was thrown around like a rag doll, pretty funny but also enlightening in SoCal earthquake country.
Hi Steve, Not a sighting but a fun story anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Message: While shopping in Costco today I spotted a Cougar!! I thought "is it her?" so I called out "Reberta" and sure enough it was Reberta Gerkin Holmes. Turns out she also lives in Riverside. She said I looked familiar but she didn't know who I was until I told her. We went to school first at Ramona from the first grade and then ended at HHS. Sure is a warm feeling to see someone you haven't seen in years. Hope she feels the same. Also want to add that I am so happy the Class of '63 had such a great reunion. I heard the room was full to capacity. Way to go you guys.
Great Sighting Maurine. Thanks very much.

Message: Betty and Jim: The correct term is 'former Marine.' And Jim, I see that you live just in the next city over, so how come 'you' didn't offer to stop in and fix the disposal? John Baker is in walking distance--so how about you!! All your info came about 8 hours too late. 15 minutes work and my good lookin' plumber charged me 94.00 balloons. But he really was good lookin' so tomorrow I'm going to stuff up the toilet with some old socks and get him out here again. As for the former Marine under the sink..he told me long ago that he never touches anything sticky or gooey. (don't go there Sid). The best he could do would be to give me a computerized diagram of how the u joint unscrews and help me on with the rubber gloves and security eye glasses. Why does all this sound x-rated somehow. See you all Sunday at the breakfast, unless my washer mysteriously overflows and the good lookin' plumber has to make an 'emergency Sunday call', (it could happen).
I would've fixed it for 89 and a Danish.

Message: Judy (Tilly) I'm thinking the furniture is requested to be away from the walls so, your cats and dogs (if any) can roam around back there without tripping you in "Your area." Regarding the disposal: Hopefully, you were running a good amount of water down it as you were pushing those carrot bits in there with the motor switch "On." If all this is true, then I'd suggest that something else was in there prior to the carrots that had already clogged the thing up. The carrots were the "Straw that broke the camels back." If you can unscrew - take apart - the pipes below the disposal, take'em outside and push a smaller pipe or stick through it to remove the gunk...that'll save you the $90.00 as well. (Maybe) My Best Wishes to you on your Birthday and all it entails {:=)

Message: Well... Thank you for all the Happy Birthday wishes. If you want to know what a 67 year old Italian woman does on her birthday, here's the run-down: Wake up and realize that I wouldn't have had to move to a bigger place if my husband (sainted husband that is) didn't demand that all the furniture be out 6 to 7 inches away from the wall. (what the hell is that all about)???? I guess I'll have to buy skinny furniture to make it work here now. Then went out shopping in a city that's not so user friendly to me and get lost 3 times just to find Smart and Final. (I still think that John Baker should pick me up once a week for a girl's day out to the market ) Then came home to start a beautiful dinner and for the first time put carrot peelings down the garbage disposal..spent half the night trying to unclog it and now I'm waiting for the plumber to come. You'll save me about 90.00 if you can write to me with easy instructions as to how I can open up the pipes without getting a face full of garbage. And how can dirty water jump so high out of the sink when you turn on a disposal that's clogged???? I'm almost glad the BD day is over. See you all Sunday at the VFW breakfast. Looking forward to seeing Glenn Crist with his plans for the '64 reunion. Down the road there will be a Halloween lunch at the same Haw VFW on Oct 27. I'll send out a blast and hope to see you there. It's a costume party/contest as well, so get going on that now. (no fair using the sheet and toga theme either) Lasagna is on the menu. All goes to the Veterans causes. If you don't pay someone back now for all the good we have, then you may miss your opportunity. Don't leave this earth without considering it. JW
Well there you are. I guess you were upside down in the sink trying to get the disposal unclogged.
HINT: Run a 2 by 4 down the disposal, the splinters will unclog it. If not well....I don't know. Thanks Til for checking in. I thought you died or maybe worse.
