Message: I was wide awake at midnight last night, because I was able to have taken an hour nap after TG dinner clean-up. My daughter was too. We went to Target and after walking through the aisles, I thought maybe I missed the great buys that began at 10p. I actually asked a clerk, "where are all the great deals?" She said to look in the paper. I found one, and honestly, didn't see anything amazing. We left and went to Walmart. I saw a lot of people, but again, not a lot of great deals. There were many shoppers in the electronics area, so maybe if you wanted a TV, or other gadget, there was some good deals. I ended up buying some stuff I know I would buy anyway for stocking stuffers - since we were already there. Two good things came out of this "never again" experience: I got to spend time with my 17 year old, who lately doesn't have any time for me. And, I did sleep well after that outing. So, based on those two things, I would say it was a win! Did any Cougars out there have a better midnight shopping experience? Or were you all a lot smarter than I was?!!

Message: What a great day for upsets yesterday! UCLA is back with a huge victory over SC and, best of all, Stanford going to Eugene and finally showing how to beat the OU track team. What a defense! It will be fun meeting UCLA for the opportunity to go to Rose Bowl this year. SC fans, you will come back again after probation ends and you find a new head coach connected to your past. Lane and Monte sound like a comedy team- you need one of your old fierce linebackers to come back and bring the old SC pride with him.

Message: Hi Loretta. It just so happened that earlier this year I actually asked Dick what his plans were, should he die. It was just a random question that I was wondering about and he seemed perfectly okay physically at the time. Anyway, he told me that it was in writing that he did not want a memorial service. He just wanted to go quietly. I don't know if his family will carry out his wishes but I feel that they will. I haven't heard anything different, but if I do I would pass it on here on Cougartown.
