Message: There is a lot to think about today. Thank all of you for the feedback entries. In order of importance:
1) Adrianne, Jan please send details and I will be there. Adrianne, Marsha and Ty all learned how to dance in Adrianne's front room. We rolled the carpet back and learned to "Bop". A great lady
2)'59 football game; top five my ass. HHS never did more for it's image, period. We were never anybody's little brother again.
3) Zeke Montez; I have the right guy. A very cold and foggy day at 26th street, Ray Torres and Zeke came down and asked for help to learn how to surf. Great guys and great memories. We never had to worry about drive by ass kickings again.

Message: I was driving home from Ventura last friday and the El Segundo offramp triggered memories of HHS so I pulled off to satisfy curiosity. Lots of activity on Halcap in preparation for homecoming. I parked in the faculty parking lot and wandered the campus for ten minutes. I swear that campus is better (for me) than any animatronic ride at Disneyland. As I passed the principals office I could have sworn George Key was strolling out to check out his campus. In front of Nyman Hall I could see folks campaigning for the victory queen hopefuls! By the boys locker room I swear Wade Greasby and his backfield strolled by. Good memories by the bucketful! Someone said homecoming was against Morningside so I rethought my idea of staying for the game and hot footed it off campus. Three Cougar sightings too..Met Randy Gonzalez(06) at Fry electronics at Rosecrans and Sepulveda, Cesar Avila(03) at Bed Bath & Beyond on Rosecrans and Sandy(91) no last name who works as the administration tech support on campus. Big demerit for me for not getting a last name! I always seem to attract the young Cougars! Now if I just had that affect on women!!

Message: Well I have been going back and forth with Howard (Paco) in email talking about Chris Montez and it looks like I have the wrong Chris Montez. There was a family who lived on my street who's last name was Montez. The dad was a LAPD and I think they had two sons. They wewre alot older than me. I remember them playing music in their garage. I am certain one of the kids was named Chris. But it looks like it is the wrong Montez family. Where did the one live who is famous. For about 20 years I have been telling people I lived down the street from Chris Montez. Oh well ignore all my prior posts on knowing Chris Montez. Dang!

Message: "OH What A Night..." Dennis is right. Chris knocked 'em dead last night at the Cerritos Center for PA. What a show that man put on. Unbelievable energy! And he is so generous with himself to his friends. He came out after the show and spent a long time visiting with his friends and fans. I was especially happy to have been able to share the evening with such good friends; Dennis and Eilene, Bob and Karen Fraser, John Rout, Joyce Chance and Bill Schultz. It was great seeing Rich and Mary Sloan and Richie and Emma Perez. But the real shocker for me was when I asked Chris if he knew what ever happened to our old friend from "the day", Willy Inman, he simply turned and called "Willy" and there he was!! I couldn't believe it. After 50 years! A great reunion. As I said, What A Night.

Message: Hi folks, I haven't posted in several years. I was reading back to August when I came across the discussion on the Leuzinger farm on El Segundo and Aviation. When I was at Sepulveda school, I grew up around stories of the farmer shooting at kids with his shotgun loaded with rock salt. I never knew anyone who ever actually witnessed this, but the story stuck with no detail. An old friend of mine actually caught part of the field near the Wooden Shoe on fire one day. I don't think he ever learned how to appropriately play with matches. Anyway, sometime in the early '70s, my friend and I were collecting cans. Regardless of the stories, we went up to the farmer's house and knocked on the door. An aged man answered, invited us in and was very cordial. He even gave us a bag of cans. He said something to the affect that the kids come onto his property without permission and get into trouble. If they would come to the door, as we did, he would be more than welcoming to them. Thanks for the memory. I think I'll look into some of the history linked on those pages.
