Message: I went to Inglewood High, taught at Hawthorne High and Lennox High, and had collected 40 yearbooks over the years. I was trying to donate them, and gave several away to former Cougars and Lancers. Then someone told me that they were valuable, I should sell them on E Bay. I have a friend that does that, and would split the money she got. I have sold about 80% of the book's I had. The Hawthorne 57, went for 68$ on bid. Beach Boys. I did not have the others, they were in 58-59-60? Others went for 25 to 30$. So do not throw you old books away. They are valuable.

Message: I can't imagine why it has taken me so long to look for this connection! Great memories! As class of '66, most of my friends were '65, and my family moved to Carson my senior year. I now live in Australia (since 1998) and stood up and cheered when the Beach Boys were here in concert and played "Be True To Your School" which has the Cougar fight melody in it! I have never attended an HHS reunion and notice nothing is happening with class of '66 - and would certainly love to stay in touch with what's happening for us Baby Boomers! I would love to hear from HHS pals I've long lost touch with. Susan Hawk (now Davie) AKA (occasionally) at HHS "Buzzie"

Message: Besides a great way to connect, Cougartown is also a wonderful tool for allowing us to share our sadness. I began emailing Addy regularly since she told us on feedback about her struggle with cancer. I learned quickly that she was a beautiful and truly humble person. We laughed together, sharing jokes, and cried together about our aches and pains. I discovered a spiritual person with whom I've had a "golden" relationship. I visited So Cal for a couple of days last May and made it a point to meet her in person. We had a wonderful visit and, as I told her, would never have guessed that she was ill. I hadn't heard from her for a little while and now I know why. God bless you Alex, you were her "Rock."

Message: So we are sharing ghost stories in preparation of All Saint’s Eve. Here’s one that was posted on Cougartown overa decade ago about our own Leeroy Felderruster so I’m sure it will be new to a few of you. Happy Halloween, Cougs! It seems a teacher at Hawthorne High School is giving a lecture in Nyman Hall on the supernatural. To get a feel for his audience, he asks, "How many people here believe in ghosts?" About 90 students raise their hands. "Well that's a good start. Out of those of you who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you've ever seen a ghost?" About 40 students raise their hands. "That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously. Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?" 15 students raise their hands. "That's a great response. Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?" 3 students raise their hands. "That's fantastic. But let me ask you one question further... Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?" LeeRoy way in the back raises his hand. The teacher is astonished. He takes off his glasses, takes a step back, and says, "Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have slept with a ghost. You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience. "LeeRoy replies with a nod and a grin, and begins to make his way up to the podium. As he ambles slowly toward the podium the teacher says, "Well, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost." LeeRoy replies, "Ghost?!? a heck.....From way back there I thought you said "goat."

Message: Thanks Gary Bickers, Baker, Mary Ann for the cudos on that game. As I said before, I wish more of the guys would have given their opinon other than I, Bobby Hunter and John Hagethorn. You know, it was 50 freaking years ago, but feels like yesterday. Where did the time go. I remember the Samohi people throwing things at our bus as we left. I also remember their players standing on the track, so confident in their impending victory, in their civies as we came out to start our warm ups. Jeering at us and just giving us the rag. For a high school game to get 13-15 thousand people in a stadium back then it was quite stunning. Enough...Mary Ann, Jude and I hope you'll be at the reunion. Baker, Ribeyes Med Rare and a GOOD Clint CEGAR. Gary Bickers, thanks for all the great things you've said about all the guys. I would love to see you also when we come down. Don't know how we can connect but who knows? I'd love to hear about your brother Bob, many connections with him through my youth. We were on that great LLoyd Dennee team that beat the Optimists for the first time ever, went 20-1 and also won the league c-ship. Rich Sloan, Ted Sprague eat your heart out. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU! Jake N jude

Message: Happy Halloween to all at CT! any ghost stories out there. IRISH GHOST STORY: This happened a while ago in Dublin and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock story, it's true. John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. No cars were traveling that night. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly he saw a car slowly coming toward him and stop. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door.... only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!! The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand repeatedly came through the window, but never touched or harmed him. Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road. So, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to the pub. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just had. A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying and....wasn't drunk. Suddenly the door opened and two other people walked in from the stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath. Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other... 'Look Paddy...there's that freakin' idiot that got in the car while we were pushin' it.!!' A wee bit of humor to end your day.

Message: I remember seeing Adrienne during all my school years at HHS, we were in some classes together I'm sure, but never really knew her then, but fastforward about 40 years and we reconnect in 2003 at the class of 63's 40 year reunion! That was a big night for me I reconnected with many people that I hadn't seen for those 40 years Sandy Peppers, Dorothy Slawson, Linda Huthmaker, Marguerite Melchert and lots of good old friends that have become "big" in my life since then - it was amazing; but little did I know that mine and Adrienne's common thread and our strength for one another would be the cancer fight! I've gone thru some stuff but never never suffered like she did, she kept me updated on her progress and we prayed for each other and encouraged each other - I kept telling her don't lose that million dollar smile of yours Addy! And she never did and she never will because that's what I'm going to remember - I'm thankful to God she was in my life, I love you girl! - Lil
