Message: Happy 5th of May too all. I have a question for lot's of people with lot's of different experiences. I went from my first year of school, to the last year in the same school district. My daughter is coming up on her high school years. Would it make a difference, if my daughter didn't go to the high school in the area, or if she changes half way through? I have a decision coming up in the future to make, and it would be good to get lot's peoples opinions. One is city-like, the other is forest-like atmosphere. Both are good schools, it's the peer thing and after school years I'm concerned about. I got married to my wife, on our way to our 30 year high school reunion. But we first met as freshmen at HHS. I would just like to hear or read other peoples experience's. Thank You John for this opportunity. I would rather make an informed decision, than a biased one. Thanks everyone.

Message: Ron Reinholdson, sorry to hear about the loss of your brother-in-law. I guess you can say that I knew him But I didn?t know him. Back in the mid-sixty?s when I was in 4th and 5th grades I went to ?Williams School? and one of my favorite memories was saving my dimes and after school going over to Yukon Market because he always had a big barrel of gigantic pickles. Didn?t worry about germs and dirt back then, just dunk your hand or arm up to your elbow in the big barrel and get the biggest pickle you can get, go to the register and give him your dime, he would give you a napkin and off on your merry way home eating your pickle. I think that every kid that had to pass that store on their way home from school didn?t pass by without getting their daily pickle. And now that I think of it, it was probably a sight seeing 100+ kids walking down the different streets away from Yukon Market all eating pickles. Just a childhood memory he gave to me, my sisters and 100?s of other kids thru-out the years.

Message: Had the privledge of working with Danny Gans on several occasions. What a great person and spirited personality. Danny was from Torrance. I wish his family well. Hey! Looks like things are picking up about our 69' reunion. Heard from my ole buddy Don Winters 70' who said he already has a check on the way to John Sloey. Can't wait to see whom from the wrestling team shows up. Coach Yost used to say that wrestling should be recognized as a martial art back then. Look at the UFC now, I believe he has been heard! Joe Quintinella, are you out there some where? Does anyone know where he and his sister Ester are these days?

Message: I just had to add some direction to the picture on the street scene, looking west on Hawthorne Blvd. The main shot by Lawrence Drugs Is Broadway and Hawthorne Blvd. I knew it well! Eventually, Independent Lumber was to the left down by the tracks (south) and Army Surplus a few stores to the right of Lawrence Drugs. I got my first pair of "Converse" there. And to add a bit more of history! I still have the nickel that myself and Mike Whitley, or was it Rod Potts?, put on the tracks on our way home from school (Hawthorne Intermediate)! It's still just as flat as can be! That was cool! and fun! at the time.

Message: Larry, Moe, and Curley are easier to spell -- with the fourth being Shemp wearing go-aheads. Could it bed' Artagnan, Athos (careful with the pronunciation) Porthos-- with the fourth one being Aramis -- with heavy plumage. Or Tinkers to Evers to Chance not to be confused with Reese to Neal to Hodges. Sloey was obviously on the injured reserve list for the HHS Spelling Team. I really had nothing to say, but it was my turn to say it. 24 school days left in Oregon -- and counting. I teach History, not spellig.

Message: I was scrolling through the feedback page earlier this evening and could not believe my what I was reading as I read Sheri (Miles) Aust posting about a Cougar sighting with my long-lost cousin Greg Bashford. It's been every bit of 30 years since I last saw him. I was so looking forward to re-connecting with him. So I went to the alumni page, retrieved two e-mail addresses that he had obviously posted there at some time and sent him an e-mail to both addresses. I'm very sorry to say they both came back as undeliverable. :(

Message: What, no one challenged John on his spelling? You didn't say what kind of grade you got for misspelling Nebuchadnezzar. Unless you were using an obsure version of the Bible. Another version is Nebuchadrezzar. I'm just kidding. I knew it wasn't right but had to look it up to get the correct spelling.
