Message: Cougar sighting, this afternoon, at Armstrong theatre. Ushered for "Music Man Jr", and Gene Guiterrez (Class of '63) was there! We had a nice chat. Also, Happy Birthday Corliss. Was reminiscing about when you danced with Maximillian Schell at the Academy Awards, the year we attended, in 1962! Saw him in "Judgment at Nuremberg", last night. You remember he got "Best Actor" for that. Best, Linda Huthmaker/1963
Good one Linda, thanks much.

Gordon met Frank (83) at the Templeton Museum where he was working on a 1934 school bus. They had a great visit!!! It is nice to have Gordon here with us for a few days.
Thanks Myrna, everyone I know loved Frank Graves as a teacher. Good to know he's still at it at 83 years old.

Message: Jim Sloey - guess you're enjoying Nebraska football this year. Clark, I wouldn't be raising kids in this day and age for all the money in the world, but I'm happy that my grands are enjoying the good life in rural communities. Economics hurt us, too, but we're close enough to larger cities for the extras like malls, theaters, etc. As long as Tyson Foods and four other major industries stay open, this small town will survive. People from a 40 mile radius drive in daily to work here, too. But, I don't know if we'll survive the Razorback season if things keep going like the past two games have. LOL. Early Thanksgiving wishes to everyone and PLEASE get out and vote!

Message: My grandfather died when I was a senior (64) . I drove his car until I got drafted. My dad sold it while I was in the Army. We never got along too good. He also threw away my baseball cards, some from the 50's. It seems to me that guys of our generation fall in love with our first cars. This one is actually a nicer version of my grandfathers car. I got it from a widow in Ohio. I know it's not collectible, or a classic, but I love it.
Hey Tom, Great looking Olds man. I know what you mean about first cars. I had a couple I'd love to have back. In my opinion it is a collectible and a classic too. Thanks for the picture.

There will be an email going out to all 62ers on the reunion, in the next couple of days. ALSO, I will not go into too much detail but just so you know; if you have an AOL email account you won't receive an email. This has been an ongoing thing with aol for a couple of years and I have tried and tried to get email through but it's just not possible. If you have another email address besides ****@aol.com, please change to it on the Cougartown Info System. AOL is no longer emailable from Cougartown.

Apparently Clark was too involved in taking down names of people who attended the games and were former Cougars. Message: On the other side of the Sierra from King's, I just attended the annual Lone Pine Film Festival. The westerns made in the adjacent Alabama Hills by Audie Murphy were featured this year. The festival may be one of those life experiences that is interesting once, like jury duty. My family went most every summer to the Bishop area in the 50s and 60s. South Lake up Bishop Creek borders King's Canyon. It was an affordable family vacation after summer school and before the new school year. It sure was a change from L.A.

Message: Jim Ward, who recently passed away, was a buddy of mine growing up. On of the high points of our 50 year reunion was reconnecting with him. He, J. B. Schroeder and and I sat up past 2 a.m. talking one evening. I hadn't seen him in the previous 50 years. The Rae Lakes loop in King's Canyon was special to all of us. The 8mm films were (as far as I know) were last in the possession of the Ritchies. I really hope they still exist. Jim's father, Bill, was one of the adults on that trip. Our first camping spot was Paradise Meadows. I had washed my boot socks in the river and was hanging them over a branch when someone said 'Glenn there's a snake.' I jumped straight back and it started to rattle. The meadow was alive with mice, hence snake heaven. The snake was dispatched with an axe. That night, a horrifying scream came. Flashlights aimed that direction, Bill emerged from his sleeping bag, post haste, and shaked it out. It was a mouse that had been crawling around at his feet. I hiked the Sierra for years, but that trip is etched in my memory as the finest.
Great story Glenn, thanks man.

Message: I am hoping someone can help me get ahold of any of the Ritchie family. There were four brothers, Craig, Chris, Mike and Mark, all of whom graduated from HHS. They lived at 5541 W 123rd Place just off of Aviation in Del Aire. Craig graduated in 1965 and at the last contact I had with him, he was living in Colorado. He passed away shortly after that, I understand. I believe his brothers are still living. Mike holds heritage track and cross country records at HHS. I am trying to track down 8mm movie film of our 1959 King's Canyon High Sierra (Rae Lakes Loop) trip. Thank you in advance for any help you might provide.
