Message: Underwear in a restaurant Janet!!! I'm sorry, but all that coffee got me wound up. Actually, they were PANTALOONS. (I've sent a picture in your email Sidney). In the 60's all the gals wore them. The traditional slip had seen it's day. The layering back then went like this: 1; panty hose. 2; underwear. 3; Pantaloons. 4: Skirt. Took us half the day to undress for P.E. And yes, in this pic they're hanging on my refrigerator door with magnets as I'll get in more trouble from the King if I pin them to the wall. Cruise night was the best yet and we can still put away a double bacon burger with and have room for chocolate cream pie and coffee from Coco's. However, we will be eating cabbage soup for the next 3 days to offset the calories. Looking forward to September's '64 reunion and I'll be wearing and modeling the Pantaloons.
Yes but you were wearing pants. How did you get them off at Coco's?

Message: What a fun cruise nite! So nice to see so many there. I think my family still can't believe after sooooo many years all these people are still getting together and "hanging out". Loved the cars and the exciting exits made by the old rebels!! Janny and Judy...thanks for the pie and coffee after. You two are just too funny, but next time Judy, keep your underwear in your purse, my poor little brother was shocked!!
Thanks for coming down, Janet, a fun night indeed. Yes Judy, keep your bloomers on at all times in a restaurant.

Any pics of the 40 Ford, Rich?

Message: Thanks John for another fun event. Hope everyone had as good a time as we did. Hawthorne PD caught up with us at the signal past Chip's. He was in the left lane and just looked and smiled. I figure another burnout might have got me a ticket. We made a right on Imperial and slipped onto the 105 freeway.
Must be the NEW Hawthorne PD Thanks Danny and Diane for bringing out the timeless 40 Ford. A great car for sure man.

Message: Cheri Longanecker - I don't know who the LAD are but when I grew up Vin Scully was the announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. As for the subscription Television services not broadcasting the games, I blame it on the greed of the upper management of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Time Warner Cable. They started their own SportsNet LA to fill their bank accounts! According to the LA Times "Ratings for Dodger channel SportsNet LA hurt by lack of reach." http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-dodger-ratings-20140403,0,5876379.story#ixzz2y82VCo2p " If I were a viewer of any of the stations currently not broadcasting the games I would encourage NOT to pick up the games and maybe SportsNet LA would go broke! (What I would really like is to see the games on "free" broadcast TV as it was in the beginning. )

Message: Well, I can't believe I'm going to say this about cruise night, but it was awesome to see men in their 60's leave Fosters burning rubber and fish tailing down Hawthorne Blvd. And I'd also like to say that Danny Petty won the best rubber burn/fish tail and I want to have your baby. It was a lot of fun and good to know we can still put down a double bacon burger, coke and a piece of pie and still have room for our night time pills. Today the Noodlemans eat cabbage soup all day to offset it, but it was worth every minute. Oh, for those that couldn't join use for pie at Coco's, think of another excuse on a Saturday night (the big night) other than you have to go home to pee your dog. Are we just getting old????
It was 10pm....way past my bedtime

Message: RE: LAD - Like most Cougars I grew up listening to Vin Scully call the LAD games. I attended games at the Coliseum & Dodger Stadium. I have enjoyed watching them on DirecTV until (obviously) this year, when LAD contracted with TW. Evidently the big boys in charge of money aren't playing well together. They don't appear to care about those of us who do not live in LA nor are subscribers to TW that we cannot receive LAD broadcasts on TV. Vin Scully is the best in the business and this may very well be his last year of calling games. Call, write the LAD and TW or use Social Media to let these big guys know we want to watch the LAD. Maybe we can make a difference.
Yes I can empathize with all who do not have Time Warner. It's a frustrating situation but I'm sure they will reach an agreement soon. In the meantime you all are invited over here to watch the Dodgers. Just bring the hot dogs, peanuts, and beer.

Message: OK, tomorrow morning, I'll have Kathy Brooks, Butch and Harry Plotkin all dressed warm and sitting in their cars ready for Cruise Night. It'll be like waiting for the Rose Parade in the cold. Happy Birthday to my old room mate and good friend Melody White Nardini. It's been a long time since we shared that little house in Lennox, worked all day and danced every night at The Century Room. Now I'm lucky if I can bend over to put my gel soles in and lace up my sensible but stunning sports shoes. Good memories. See you tomorrow Sid....and Happy BD to Mother Baker.

Message: I remember Sharon Herbst. She has a beautiful singing voice and sang a lot at Trinity Lutheran Church. Her parents are pillars of the church. They came to my mother's funeral a year ago in February. She died on Valentine's Day 2013. I remember Sharon singing a solo in the musical 'Tell It like It Is" I believe it was in the summer of 1972. The song was "That's For Me." SO beautiful. I still remember most of the words.

Message: Get your September calendar out, find your checkbook, have that second cup of coffee, and then commit to having fun at the Class of "64 Reunion. Don't let this one get by Cougars! Shine your high heeled sneakers, dust off your Cougar Rooter buttons, wax your '57 Chevy and get your Pendleton shirt out of the mothballs. Uncle Jimmy Weldon and Webster Webfoot, Sheriff John, Engineer Bill, Lloyd Thaxton, Soupy Sales, Dick Clark, Buffalo Bob and Howdy Doody all say it is time to get back together and party til the Mousekateers come home. Pack up all your excuses and throw them off the Palos Verdes cliff during the submarine races. So what if you have a bum ankle, a trick knee, menopause, Manopause, less hair on your head and more growing out of your ears, we will all just be teenagers with wrinkles that don't iron out. I remember thinking back in 1963 that I'll be 55 in 2000. Hey brothers and sisters of the Scarlett and Gold, we are way past that now and it is time to Celebrate Life!!!!!
Very well said Tom, it's time to rock and roll to (and with) the oldies. Sign up now 64ers and save the extra bucks for Sen Sens. We are going to party like it's 1959!! See you all there on September 27th and I'm working on having the Cougartown Picnic the next day. Gonna be a fun weekend for sure.
