Message: Oh how i love boysenberry also! Especially pie! .. John Noyes is right about Knotts growing them in Oxnard! We have a friend that used to work on the boysenberry farm and he gave us some plants to grow! Simply wonderful! ... And when i was younger my neighbors would take me to Knotts Berry Farm! They didn't have any kids , so i guess My parents said "Sure take the little brat , we need a brake" LOL! And yes most of Knotts was free! I loved the mine train ride! .. Those same neighbors were the off spring of the Butterfeild stage lines family from way back ... So for my graduation present in 69 they gave me a "Two Grey Hills" Navajo chiefs blanket!! I didn't know much about Navajo blankets back then. And it went into a cedar chest until i came home from the navy and moved out of the house. But thanks to my neighbors they turned me into a collector . That same chiefs blanket is still with me to this day on our sofa! Along with many more we collected thru the years! Thanks Gertrude and Sparky Wright!

Message: Was there something they put in that big blue water tower. It seems to me that Hawthorne had the highest population of twins I've ever seen. As evidence 1971 Karen Tierney Johnson 1971 Cathy Tierney birthdays are today. Almost every class had a set of twins. The Trotts, Melanie and April. 65 had a pair of blonde twin girls and I can't remember their names. Several people after high school gave birth to twins. Back then I didn't think twins were that common. I could be wrong. Happy birthday Karen and Cathy.

Message: Jerry, that's funny. Boysenberry is my favorite jam. They make with sugar, no sugar added, and sugar-free. If they ever banned it, I could never eat toast again. Oh, and it's especially good as a topping over vanilla ice cream. Remember when it cost nothing to get into Knotts? Guys would take their dates there. It was a fun place to hang out and it was free unless you wanted to ride the train, stagecoach, or go into the tilted house. I'm sure many of you HHS guys took dates there.

Message: Not a Cougar sighting but merits mentioning on feedback: This morning i was in Southeast Torrance at my CPAs office (where else on tax day?). As I left I realized I was only two blocks away from Teri (Manos) Millers(HHS 76) house. Thought I'd drive by and see if someone was home. Sure enough Teri was home and we had a nice chat. Her daughter Courtney was the star goalkeeper for Torrance highs girls varsity soccer team this year. Her brother Tony Manos (HHS 73) is still living in La Habra and doing well. Her sister Mona(HHS 75?) is a happy "empty-nester". An interesting update on some 70s Cougs.

Nice to see P.S. has managed to keep the modern style alive and well ... BTW, I think i saw clark running around downtown looking for HHS Cougars. He had his aunt Claire with him.. Message: Jim Sloey: I called my aunt Claire the bear up in jellystone park and told her to calm down and back off you. You must forgive her as she had a head injury last year while foraging for salmon in the river. I also told her to tell my cousin Boo-Boo to resist any temptation to step in and annoy you. In addition I contacted Ranger Smith and asked him to keep an eye on them. I'm smarter than the average bear.

Message: Clark, do you have an Aunt named Claire the Bear? This lady has sent me no less than 7 emails detailing how she is going to kick my butt Tuesday behind the Dairy after school is over. Now she has my phone number and 2:00 AM calls the past 2 nights detailing the same information has truly disturbed our Ernie. The one puzzling element besides her describing her physique, [6'5" 325, really?] is that everytime she hangs up she ends the conversation thusly, "This Claire the Bear a Cougar in every sense of the word!" And then ahowl/growl somewhere between a Leopard and a weasel echoes through the phone and the house for an hour. I hope this isn't you Clark!

Message: A question: Who in the class of 1964 is interested in a fiftieth high school reunion? I know it is only about three years after the absolutely wonderful "Class of '64 Turns 64 Reunion" that April Hays and Greg Bowman put on in Palm Desert. Basically, I want to know if there is enough interest out there to proceed. We only have one shot at a 50th. E-mail me directly with your thoughts. I'd like to hear your preferences. How interested are you? Where should we hold it? What date and where? I'll winnow through responses and try to distill them into a common preference. Monday, I'll start sending out individual questionnaires to class members, but it would be a huge help to me if the Cougartown faithful would reply sooner. A big thanks to all (and to you, John Baker, for all you do for HHS graduates). Glenn
