Message: I just read the sad news about Keith Jones, and I'm in shock. Over the years, Keith had provided us at C-Town with so many interesting antecdotes about his life, his kids, grandkids and memories of growing up in Hawthorne. I did not know Keith personally. But his posts made me feel as if I did. Heartfelt condolences to Keiths family.

Message: Tonights game, those were the biggest POP WARNER players I've ever seen, I was waiting for the hide the football under your shirt and run. Was not a good game. Worse football game in prime time since 1887.
I disagree and thought they both were hampered. These teams average 50 points a game and with a break, Oregon would have won this one. Great game.

Message: Points are designed to get the betting public to place equal amounts of money on each team thereby giving the bookie the juice, usually 10% of your bet if you are the loser. That is how the house makes its scratch. Favored means nothing other than perception but having said that, it is usually pretty close. This game should look like the LMU/ISU game in 1989 at Gertsen.
Hey Jim, Yes, we all remember that game well.

Message: Hello John, on my weekly visits with Ty Goodman's Mom, I have to drive past HHS. I'm with you, it looks so much better. I barely noticed it. As for Dr Phil's opinion, I could give a rats behind. I'm sure he has a fence around his yard too.
I agree Barb, thanks for your opinion.

Message: I'm looking for some clarification from the Cougar nation? Recently I saw a special on " actor/rapper" Mark Walberg going back to the 80's where he and his group seem to be taking credit for the Beach Boys big hit, "Good Vibrations", didn't Brian Wilson write and produce that song? Now with reguards to the realignment of the fence around Hawthorne High, you can sugar coat it all you want, it still looks like a jail!!! How can we continue to not address the real issues as to why that fence even exists anyway. As most of you remember from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and maybe the 80's there was no fence. As Dr. Phil says, "no matter how flat you make a pancake it still has 2 sides".
Hi Bob, Brian wrote Good Vibrations.

Message: I sure was surprised with all the comments after I asked about the location of the Chinese restaurant my family went to back in the 50s. I didn't realize there were so many back then! My mom and I loved it...my dad was not too fond of Chinese food. He used to tell us that he didn't want to eat anything that looked like it's already been eaten. The things our parents used to tell us...lol Of all the restaurants listed, Luckys rang a bell. I am still not sure if that was it...but it did sound familiar. I emjoyed all the comments!
