Message: Hey, Keith Boy; I gotta go along with Bud on this one. You are a "Promoter" by reputation, it appears that you tried to put something together in Vegas. Maybe or maybe not, you thought you could get some personal comps from the Casino or maybe make a couple of bucks on the side, I don't know, nobody does or is pointing fingers. Bottom line, if you don't have enough people showing up (which it sounds like), CANCEL the event and move. Just chalk it up as a life experience and you gave it your best, just leave John Boy & his Cougartown out of the mix because it's not his thing either. Enough said. Jorge

Message: Hey George And John. Thanks for the kind words. We really enjoyed hosting this get together and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. A lot of the credit for getting all these guys together has to go to Bruce Hoover. He did most of the initial contacting and did a great job. I'm with you John, lets not wait another 45 years for one of these. I would like to thank all those who attended and made it such a great day and lets do it again!!!
Hey Dennis, thanks again for hosting such a fun day with our great friends. I say we do it again when Dennis C gets his desert oasis finished.

Message: I have been in contact with Principal Newell and the ASB advisor. They are contacting administration to find out if permits are required and also the specifications for the type of cement; rebar etc. A student, Jemima Urban, is drawing a rough diagram of what it will look like. We will be having a senior meeting on Thursday, May 13th and hope to set the date for the first work party. Now the question to the Alumni – Who locally is able to physically help in the process? We need expertise in digging, framing, setting rebar and cement finishing and sidewalk supervision. I will have some firm dates after our meeting on the 13th so please let me know what you can do. Donations will not be turned down from anyone who would like to donate also. I don’t have anything set up yet for donations but will find out the legality within the next few days and post it here. More later…..
Sounds great Bob, No expertise here but I'm sure we have a few capable in these tasks. Thanks and keep us apprised.

Message: Hi John and Keith. Keith, I am confused. As a person, along with the infamous Wade Greasby, who has used this forum to promote an event, our Cougartown Golf Classic for five years, that John's status is not at some point "compromised " if an event does not reflect well of Cougartown goes beyond my grasp of rational. Wade and I initiated our event and with John's blessing we were able to use his data base for exposure and updates. Keith, you initiated this event, you used Cougartown to promote it and update it. By looking at your confirmations you have 11 to date, yet you tell John that you have at least 50-100 coming. 50-100 people at any Cougartown event/reunion would be deemed a huge success, why all of the sudden is this not your gig anymore? It's OK if it didn't work out Keith, we all still luv ya man...but give John a break and respect that he did let you use the forum for your event and take responsibilty in that and do what is right. Cheers all........

Message: Hey, John Boy; I have a bunch of sightings LOL, these should count, because I didn't plan the event. Dennis & Eileen Morris opened their beautiful home to a bunch of old Dinosaurs, we saw you, John Baker, Marsha Russell, John & Melinda Nix, Kenny Blomsterberg & his wife, Richie Tews (the eyes from Van Nuys), Tom & Debbie Barnett, Howard (Paco) & Sharon Duran, Dennis & Eileen Campbell, Bruce & Donna Hoover, Dickey Acosta (LHS), Pat Burris, And many more, sorry if I left you out. A great time was had by all, some of these folks, I had not seen in 25 or 30 years, it was fun catching up on old & current events. Richie Tews, who used to be one of my old room mates 100 years ago, thought I was dead LOL, but I fooled him & showed up anyways. Again, great time. Jorge & Arlena
Hey George, Yes indeed, a great get together for a bunch of hill toppers. I want to thank Dennis and Eileen Morris for chancing this group in their own home. Great food, drink, and especially great company. I don't remember the last time I saw most of these guys as it had to be straight out of HHS. Jim Parisi, it was fun seeing you and Jim Nicola too. Also George, tell Arlene it was nice meeting her and I'll send that pic to Randy. There will be pictures on Pacos Pics probably Tuesday. Thanks to all for being there and let's not let another 45 years go by to do this again.

Message: John, not sure how it reflects on you in any manner. In any event we will still have the get together no matter what. I wanted to charge a fee to help pay for the food and setup and have been telling people. So far no one has paid the fee. So we may just have a big get together at restaurant and people can buy food if they want. The place wants a deposit and for 50 people that deposit comes to about $1500 with the menu I chose. It could be more if I chose another menu. So I there you have it. I think we will have at least 50 to 100 people there and hopefully more but until I see some more confirmations I will be careful. This is NOT my thing. I am doing just the website and letting people know about it. I spent about the last 6 weeks with pneumonia and just don't have the time that is why I asked for help. So as you can see there is NO reflection whatsoever on you and it looks like it is actually on me. But no matter what we are going to have the get together at Diablos at the Monte Carlo on Friday June 11 at 5pm till whenever. Just how big is still up in the air. I do thank you for at least letting me talk about it here.
It has been advertised here, your website has been given out from here, and people have been contacted from here. That is how it reflects on Cougartown.

Message: update for the Vegas Multi-Class Reunion. There are none. Response for the first couple weeks was great then that was it. We are planning an informal get together at Diablo's Restaurant which is located at the Monte Carlo Resort and Csaino on Friday night starting at 5pm till whenever. We had had several people confirm and booked at other hotels. Since we didn't reach our minimum at the Monte Carlo they are not giving us really anything worth while. you can book online and save more than the discount they are offering us. So, we are still expecting at least 50 to 100 people hopefully but the only planned event will be the get together at Diablos. Most everyone is coming in for the whole weekend so you can still get together and take a Vegas weekend together. Any info can be found at www.cougarreunion.com
It seems if you're going to have 50 people then you should have something more than dinner, Keith, 50 is plenty for a reunion that people have made plans for. I hate this because it reflects on me, and Cougartown has nothing to do with this reunion. Maybe you still should plan something.

Message: So sorry to have heard of Glenn Crist's Mom's passing. Spoke to him last night and we were able talk and reflect on what a dear person she was, and so FUNNY! Many people have been entertained by her great humor and charm. She will be greatly missed but remembered fondly. Glenn is still looking forward to our wine country weekend, as am I, and hope to see many of you soon for another great WWW! Janet
Hi Janet, I agree . . . Mrs. Crist was another Hawthorne person who will be fondly remembered. When I'd call Glenn and she would answer, it would be a 45 minute conversation with her about Hawthorne in the good old days. She was a fun and funny person.

Message: The vote is in for Senior Square. The class of 2010 voted to put it as close to where it was originally. It will be just east of Nyman Hall. They are now looking at weekend dates for a work-party to break ground. Once received, I will post the work party dates and then we can start an alumni volunteer list for those who wish to help.
Great Bob, My choice too. Thanks for the update.

Please forward a great person your caring words for recovery and thoughts. Her forwarding email is marconi310@aol.com or porkchopjm@aol.com. I thank you as I'm sure her family will. Message: It looks like spring is finally here in Tahoe. Tom Leeman and his family vacationed here in Lake Tahoe a few weeks ago. John, even though Tom and I planned to meet for dinner, does that count for a Cougar sighting? Well, I met with Tom and his family and caught up for the last 30 years or so. Tom has a very nice family. I had a nice visit with him reminiscing from kindergarten to the present. I think we both enjoyed the memories, it was great! Take care, Jack
Thanks Jack and no, not a sighting as it was planned.

Message: Senior Square! The electronic ballot has been created and is in circulation at HHS. Voting will close this Wed. and the results will be published publicly (if all goes well with the new online voting system HHS just purchased). On Wednesday at 4pm you should be able to go onto the hhscougars.org website and view results by clicking on the 'Senior Square Survey' link which is up there now. Please do not try and vote because the voter list is limited to current seniors. The next step after the ballots are in is to plan a work-party on a Saturday at the school.
Thanks Bob
