Message: Wow, Sharon, it sounds like a great weekend. I am definately planning on going. It would be a good time to do some Christmas shopping for my wine loving friends and family. Okay, the Italian side really likes the wine. My grandfather used to make his own. My cousins in Sicily make their own wine. From what my sister has told me, it is very good. Really, looking forward to June. John, let us know when you get the correct dates so that I can put it on my calender.

Message: We are just back from an amazing weekend in Wine Country. Mike and I, and our friends Jim and Elaine, were blown away by the awesome treatment we got from Cougar Glenn Crist, who offered to "tour" us to his favorite wineries. Not only did he pick us up at our hotel, he chauffered us for two days; shared his extensive knowledge of the area and winemaking; shared his Fabulous Friends at Homewood Winery; and made us feel like the King and Queen of the Prom. We are humbled by his generosity and deeply grateful for his kindness. We WILL be going to the Wine Country weekend in June, it can't come soon enough for us!! Folks, if you only take one trip this year, make this the one. It was an absolute blast, and Glenn gives us an insiders view into the life and lifestyle of winemakers- I feel like we've made friends for life. PLUS you get to hang out with a bunch of Cougars- I mean, how much better could this possibly get??? Thanks again, Glenn; you are amazing!!!

Message: Mr. Jenks was a genuine good man and umpire, commanded the attention of all kids back in the day. Old School, but always fair. Enjoyed taking my Red Man out of my back pocket when I caught. Would always ask me if I could spit between the bars of the mask and hit the hitters shoes. Usually ended up on home plate and he'd make me clean it off. Drove a bull dozer when forest fires happened and chomped on them cigars. Bob, Phil, and Cathy, my best to you in the loss of your dad. Great guy!!

Message: Hey, Jim Boy; I remember that show, because my Grandma (RIP) used to make us watch it when she was at our house visiting, along with Spade Cooley, Lawrence Welk and of course Roller Derby. Back in those days, what ever Grandma wanted to watch, we watched. If my memory (which is bad) serves me right, I think that she (Hutton) did have a wardrobe malfunction one night on one of her broadcasts. Back in those days everything was live TV, so it went to all the networks that carried her show on prime time television.

Message: John - Greetings in 2010, a couple things. First, for all who have fast speed Internet, I found a groovy collection of Primo oldy DOO WOP tunes from the 50's & 60's,
go to you tube ......perhaps John you can figure a method to transfer these into your dancing Juke Box...SECONDLY after a very long 30 years or so I got an email from class of 70 HHS Cougar Miss Jan Williams, last night. Great to get contact from our truly "old" friends. So is this a "virtual-Cougar sighting" anyway Enjoy the nice music when you get over to You Tube- Later Daze Neil

Message: Whoever wrote "Happy Birthday" obviously never made it to 60! Just read where HHS's greatest Athlete/Student Leader, Mike Gillespie ('58), was inducted into the
American Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame earlier this month. Mike, for those who do not remember him, probably earned more varsity letters than anyone in the history of HHS. He was a mainstay in football, basketball and baseball. I grew up directly across the street from the baseball field and remember all those great guys from the 50's: Gillespie, Tommy Graves, John Short, Bobby Guy, Ralph Hesterman, Coach Duff Means and on and on. I was lucky to have watched them all.

Message: Hello Cougars, After seeing all the Cougars weve lost in the past weeks it made me glad i had a gathering of my friends last summer. These were good friends, ones that if you didnt see them for years once you got together it seemed like no time had passed. It made me think we should have a big gathering like the one i suggested a long time ago. Id like to see if anyone would be interested in helping in setting it up. I was thinking of a one day event with a retro car show with booths from all the classes from hawhorne with a bbq and concert that night with music from past 50 yrs. If anyone is interested i will be changing my email soon so anyone interested in helping can email me. This event would be all Cougars and families. Think about it

Message: I had the opportunity to have a great friend like Jodi Tamburrino in my life and for those of you who shared in her life as well, she will truly be missed. Jodi passed away on 1/16 after a very short battle with cancer. If you know Jodi like I do, you know she fought like no other just as she lived her life, like no other!!! I sent her an email the day before she passed away and I hope she had a chance to read it. If not, then I share it with all of you who loved her...
My Dearest Jodi! There are no words that could ever express how much I have appreciated your friendship. You are one gal who I have admired for so many years and will continue to feel that way for the rest of my life. I cannot thank you enough for the laughter and beauty you have shared. It was really good to see you at Dori's restaurant while visiting your family over the holiday season. You have a wonderful family and a precious grand daughter which is of no surprise to me as they all have you to thank for their good fortune as I know they do. It goes without saying things have been extremely tough for you these past months but you are one hell of a lady built of strong character and have demonstrated more strength than I could ever imagine. I wish Dori, you and I had spent more time together like we did in Palm Springs laughing, dancing and having more than a few cocktails, not to mention Connie Chung paid us a visit (LOL!!!). I will treasure the times we did share and hope to share more. You will forever be in my heart. With much love, Bonnie
