You see I fell asleep on my couch in Torrance and it seems a tornado must have come through the South Bay and picked me up and deposited me in Kansas! Message: Step back non believers!! Here is hoping I don't bore you all with this story. I have been away from CT a few years. I don't normally believe in this sort of thing happening but when it happens to you it makes a difference. I woke early this am & couldn't get back to sleep. For some unknown reason I began thinking about HHS & CT. All the people, both the ones from my past & the new ones I got to know a few years back through CT. I thought I should really post a note to say I was still above ground. I got up & turned on the computer & was blown away to find an E-mail from JB asking if I was OK & what was going on? So here is my story, a little over 3 years ago I lost my life long friend & Cougar Terry Leeper. I had known Terry since he was a year old & I think we were closer throughout our life than some brothers. He was always with me throughout my school years & we kept in constant contact all our lives. Whether working on cars, motorcycles, camping or whatever? We supported each other through all lifes ups & downs. After Terry passed away, I for some reason detached from my beloved 56 Nomad & all things connected with Hawthorne. Stopped driving the Nomad & sold it shortly there after. I also lost another close friend & Cougar Louie Marotta a couple years before Terry. Both younger than I & kids to me so a little hard for me to understand. I apologize if this sounds like poor me as that is not my intent. I want to again thank JB for reading my message at Terry's memorial get together at the VFW. My connection with CT & the people here helped me get through a few tough years in my life. I know it's said a lot but we all owe John Baker so much for making it all possible. In my opinion we have something very unusual in our connection with HHS & Hawthorne. I have never seen anything, anywhere to compare. I plan on connecting with CT more in the future. I am back involved in off road motorcycling & getting ready for the 500 mile 2 day Barstow to Vegas ride Thanksgiving weekend. Message: Actually, the maiden names are Bierman (x2), Murray and Keahey. We're here in San Diego laughing far too much. Thank God for annual conferences that bring us to each other's side of the world....Cougar hunt was successful. Laurie's submission for childhood sayings - 'that's so funny I forgot to laugh.' I am sad for the Ingram family and the class of 74 is always sorry to lose a classmate. And to John Achrem - happy 51st! It's all good. We wanna be upside down too!!! Those V girls get all the fun!!!
