Message: I stepped away from my desk for a minute, and when I came back, my PC was installing Windows 10. I did not select the update because some expensive software I have may not run under Windows 10. If you don't want this to happen, you have to change the setting in Windows Update to allow you to choose to install updates. Ken
Ken, There is a way to get your old operating system back from W10 if it doesn't work correctly. Not sure exactly how but Google "How to downgrade from Windows 10". Hope this helps you.

Message: ...and Janet you talked about Jan & Judy's "quickie, thrown together" wedding...! My understanding is that they HAD to get married. And that Justin Bieber kid is their love child. I mean compare a pic of Jan and the Bieber kid!! WELL? Just a rumor of course! I mean I'm not one to gossip you know.
Hey Tom, I just found Justin Bieber's baby picture on the Net. Scary but I think you're right, dude.

Message: Wow, time does go by! I remember you mentioning seeing a web site that you thought was cool about cars I think, run by a couple of guys. You thought it would be sorta' neat to do the same thing only related to HHS. (I think I told you it would never work!!) Of course I also tried to talk you into going into the buggy whip business with me. You done good my friend. It's nice to have a place to share good memories that are of no interest to the whole world, but mean a lot to the people who made them. Keep on truckin' pal!
Thanks Tom for hanging out here in Ctown. Buggy whips are making a comeback......in the porn industry

Message: John, how long has the Feedback page existed? I saw that someone on the Alumni List had paid dues for 19 years. You didn't start asking for meager dues to help support your efforts for several years after Cougartown started. I went back to the first Feedback post but they're not dated. Just curious.
Hey Glenn, The Feedback page was started around the last of 98 or the first of 99, not sure exactly. Jim Sloey mentioned Cougartown dues on page 68, May 28, 1999, and in June of 1999 the very first dues arrived. That's why June is considered "Cougartown Dues Month". Actually there is one Ctowner who has paid dues ahead to the 39th year and 42 Cougartowners who've paid ahead to the 20th or more years, but the alumni list only shows dues paid one year ahead. If you started paying dues in 1999, that would be 18 years of dues, plus one year ahead would be...you guessed it, 19 years showing. I just want to truly thank all of our dues paying members for their help over the last couple of decades (almost), and all our Ctowners for contributing not only to the Feedback page but to get-togethers, reunions, etc. It has been a blessing getting to know you all through Cougartown and even more so meeting many in person. Many of you know I do not do Facebook although I have a facebook account. I figure we started the social networking thing right here in Cougartown so really don't have time for the other one. I know lots of you have migrated to facebook, and that is perfectly all right, but please join in here once in a while. We miss you. Where has LeeRoy Felderruster gone?

Message: May 8th came and went and neither my husband or I remembered that it was 16 years to the date that the husband and I had a CT wedding in Hawaii. If it wouldn't be that I was reading the cards in the car wash yesterday I never would have thought of it..so I bought a card for waaay too much money and put it on Jan's computer last night after he went to sleep... I didn't mind the price of the card so much as this is how I punish Jan for not remembering. He can look at the back and see that it was seriously over-priced and it would have been cheaper just remember to take me out to dinner. Happy Anniversary to my best friend and sweetheart forever and ever---and eeever and eeever---and eeeverrrr and eeeverrrr.. and forever is a long time.
Happy Anniversary to you and Jan, Judy. I remember that trip like it was a year ago.

Message: I was up near Hawthorne yesterday so I decided to check out the Crenshaw shopping center. Dramatically different from the 60s, where the Boston Store was is now a Big 5 sporting goods, the Thrifty drugs is a Rite Aid and the Thriftimart supermarket is a non chain Superior foods. The York school crowd used to frequent this area. The old Imperial theatre site is now a parking lot for a CVS. Does anyone remember the bumper shoot hamburger joint on the west side of Crenshaw? The building is unchanged and still looks like a parasol but it is some other kind of food place now. Anybody remember the name of the small sporting goods store on Crenshaw about 100 yards south of Imperial? I used to get my track spikes there. I bought a double scoop ice cream cone at Rite Aid. I remember paying 50 cents at Clarks Drugs next to Boys Market on my breaks but this one cost me $2.69! What is this world coming to?
That would be Mel's Sporting Goods, Clark. Never the same after the SLA shot it full of holes

Message: Hi John, I read with sadness about Mark Newells departure from HHS. It is really difficult these days to find an educational leader who truly pulls together kids and faculty in order to promote a safe and dynamic learning environment . Mark epitomizes all those things . I can only dream of working with an administrator of his integrity and caliber. His shoes will be hard to fill . He performed miracles at HHS. I only wish the best for him and hope his next endeavor is one that appreciates him as much as HHS does . Best wishes , Mark!
Thanks Karen, my sentiments exactly. Good Luck Mark, we will miss you at HHS.

Message: I met with some of my track athletes from HHS and they informed me that principal Mark Newel will be leaving HHS at the end of the school year. Mark is to be applauded for eliminating gang activity on campus. I hope the district has designated a replacement like Wally Nyman or George Key!
Or Mark Newell, he is a great principal in my opinion with as many or more years than either Wally Nyman or George Key. Good Luck to you Mark wherever you land. Whoever gets you is very lucky.

Message: Mr. Repashy, a year and a half after graduating from HHS [64] I joined the marine corps. During one of your classes, you spoke highly of your time in the corps, that was the input calling me to join. I spent three years in the corps, one of which was in Vietnam, as a combat engineer with a specialty in EOD training. Attached to a bridge company in the the Icorps area outside of Danang. That time was the most invigorating of my entire life and molded my person from then on. Again, thank you sir for your superb training, fairness and support for a future and forever marine...semper fi. May I say also, one of my all-time favorite fallbacks when a choice is needed...."when in doubt, mark it out". God bless you and thank you for your sacrifices. Ray F. Rasmussen
Thank you too Ray, for your story and your service.

Message: Haven't posted anything in quite some time but have been reading. I have a problem that maybe someone can help out with. We're having to move this weekend to San Bernardino. We're moving into an apartment and have to get rid of the 2 dogs we have, a German Shepherd and a Cocker. Anybody that's interested please contact me ASAP. I don't want to have to send them to the pound. The Shepherd has real good markings except the flies were bad last year and got the tips of his ears, other than that he's in great shape. He's about 6 years old, male and has not been fixed. The Cocker needs a special kind of home. She's old and has cataracts in both eyes, is fixed and has a chip. First come first served. Thanks Cougs.

Message: Happy 91st Birthday Rowdy Mr. Plotkin! I still remember the first time I met you and Kathy about 15 years ago. It was a Pink's Run and we laughed at the worn out ring mark left in your wallet when you went to pay. If teachers advise us to be prepared, then they have to set the first example. However, you were 76 yrs old at the time and the rubber had turned to powder, so you may have had dilutions of grandeur. That was also the night that Kathy told me how to keep my skin from getting wrinkled, and that was to never use soap on your face and pat, pat, pat, your skin dry, never rub. We'll be seeing you later this week for some drinks and to break a little bread. And the second part is that I see Petey and in her pic and there's Phil "WOW" Christiana smack in the middle..and a couple of those guys look like one of my brothers. With all those mustaches and hairy chests it's hard to tell anymore.
Happy Birthday Harry and thank you Judy for being here. You have added so much fun to Cougartown over the years with your humor. I just want you to know I've loved every minute. Don't ever change.
