Message: Just got home from a 70th Birthday bash weekend in Downieville, Ca for Gordon Bell. His sister Myrna HHS66 did all the planning and it turned out great. Gordon was totally surprised when all his friends and family started popping in. Message: Speaking of AC, I don't ever recall being in a classroom that had AC. I'm sure now it's mandatory for all new schools. I remember Miss Wiley at Hawthorne Intermediate giving her students a frozen wet towel to wipe our face and neck to cool off after PE or lunch. Hey Jill, where is our OC Cougar leader? We're due for a get together.

Message: Crazy Craig...haven't heard that name in over 50 years. All he use to say to me was, "Give me some money. Buy me a hamburger. Do you have a beer, and give me money again." The funny part was that we all did it. Why do I want to say I remember another beach bum named Grubby??? A/C is on tonight, but I feel terrible crankin' it up for just the two of us, so I've decided to invite the neighbors over to sleep. Help me!

Message: Today at +90F reminded me of so many early spring days where we were suppose it stay focused on school but the beach called. I looked at Rat beach, Torrance beach, the Breakwater, 22nd Street in Hermosa, the Pier, 26th Street (our home) and El Porto today. They all looked great but 26th Street looked the best. Early spring and early fall in the South Bay; great waves and fun.

Message: Cougar sighting! Met Annabel Rivera (HHS '94 at my doctors office this morning I told her about Cougartown and encouraged her to get involved. She was in the group that would have gone to Lennox if it were open at the time. She remembered Kye Courtney and Kathy Adkins teaching math so we were able to relate a little. John you said there were two Cougars left that I had not sighted. Am I down to one?

Message: The Firefox browser within Windows XP seems to obscure the last row of the Cougartown Alumni List, and it's necessary to scroll up to access those classes. It's not true here, with Chrome and Bing. Sheb Wooley/Ben Colder was famous for his often-hilarious novelty songs and parodies of country songs, but I don't think that he sang the Love's theme on that commercial. The chain is touchy about its trademarks, and you get a lawyered-up response if you inquire about the commercials.

Message: First, thanks to all who sent birthday wishes. It was doubly good, in that my last day of work was May 1st. I can now concentrate on our 50th reunion. April (Hays) Cederberg is putting the posters that were displayed at the Class of '64 Turns 64 reunion back together. She'd like to know if anyone has pictures or memorabilia that they would like to share.
