Message: Hey Cougs, went to HAN last year, had a ball. Went with a friend of mine in his 47 Chevy Sedan Delivery, big blower motor, no hood, chopped, lowered, flames, got a lot of hoots and hollers every time he revved it up with the open headers. Won't make it this year, maybe next year. See everybody 8/20 (Ctown Cruise Night). Also Signal Hill show Sunday 8/7. Later Don
Hey Don, See you at Fosters, man.

Message: I don't think anyone from my family has posted on here that we lost our cousin, Norval Vorhis, Class of 1959 last Wednesday. He battled cancer for awhile, and leaves his saddened family behind. You may remember his Oldsmobile at a couple of the Foster's events. On a side-note, if anyone is looking for either a 1964 or 1965 El Molino, I have one of each available.
Thank you Myrna. Norval buddy, you were a good friend, Rest In Peace.

Message: Hey Sherry, I have seen that program before. I think it is when he rides along with the Hawthorne PD and hits all the great little food joints around the city? It was great! It has probably been a year or so since I saw it, so it will probably come around again, or they sell copies of all their programs on line. One of my favorite shows.

Message: Russ, last night I was in Santa Monica at a Bar named Chez Jays on Ocean off Pico. When I left I went up to 4th street to hit the SM Freeway. Like a little jewel over to my left sat SM High School football field; all lights were on but totally vacant. I stop, got out of my car and was immediately back about 52 years and the best high school football game I ever saw between SMHS and HHS. Thank you Russ and the balance of you "59ers".

Message: Hey Gary, I thought that was quite a stretch on the 24 ft thingy. But I too type that way and spell quite the same. But I do remember storm surf would come in, I didn't ride a board by the way, it would be 8-10 ft and be pounders and we would go out and try and body surf that stuff. You end up eating alot of sand. But if you caught the wave, as in all surfing of any kind, it was a righteous, bitchin, experience. But the strawberries took a heck of a time to heal. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU. Jake N Jude

Message: July 20, 1969 I was in Pusan (Busan) South Korea aboard the USS Saint Paul CA-73 (Heavy Cruiser). We were there on a goodwill gesture because in April 1969 North Korea had shot down one of our US Spy Planes (31 killed) and President Nixon had sent the Western US Navy Fleet (including the Saint Paul) to North Korea to confront the North Koreans & the Russians. Some reports indicated that Nixon had considered a Nuclear attack as a response.

Message: Moon landing: My son was about 10 months old. We woke him up & had him stare at the TV. I remember saying to him that he would not remember this event but he will be able to tell his kids he watched the 1st man walk on the moon. Great moment. I wonder if my grandkids will ever see anything as extraordinary as that?
