Message: Saw the movie 2012 today...It was weird to watch how the beach towns around Manhattan were dumped into the ocean. The LA scenes were strange too. My son takes the metro bus out there and I think I saw one fly by in the movie...I wonder if that is how it would really be like.....I also enjoyed the song at the end by Adam Lambert from Season 8. He was fantastic! I also wanted to mention that I signed up for FaceBook...just curious...and I found my friend Laura Maxson from High School. I haven't seen her in ages. I also found my cousin Susan Hahlbeck from Inglewood, who I haven't see since 1968. That wa so cool. But Cougartown is still number 1 for me!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN-BOY! The hunchback and I just sang a lovely rendition of the HB song to John A.'s RECORDED MESSAGE (I'm sure that means we are in the "In-Crowd") On a very sad note - Jerry Ingram will be missed. I remember a very smart kid from High School - always pleasant, always friendly. Although I have not seen Jerry in a million years- I will miss his presence.

Message: It sure felt good to set the all time points record today against the Trojans at the Coliseum. However, it was sad for their fans and alumni to see how far they have sunk as a competitive team. I remember when Ara Parshegian came to LA and hung a 50 spot on the Trojans to humiliate them at home. Sorry site to see Trojans quit before the clock had expired. That said, I gotta love the powerhouse team Harbaugh has built on the Farm. It only happens once every decade or so, so for now, I will be drinking to my team for putting a licking on all you Trojans. You had a great run and now somebody else will represent the PAC Ten for awhile. I will mention to old Jimbo that you dont go for a 2 point conversion when you have your opponent whipped so badly. I know it has more to do with national rankings and visibility than trying to rub their noses into the dirt. Anyway, we need some help beating Oregon and OSU in the remaining games. So go salvage your season by spoiling it for another contender You SoCal boys will get over it. After all, the Lakers will contend, the Angels and Dodgers are solid, so who needs USC football on top every year?!?!

Message: Hi to all. Thanks sister for the kind words. But I am just a proud Veteran from Hawthorne. I know Hawthorne is a very patriotic city. Hawthorne has sent many young men & women forward into the racks of the Military. We just had a young lady from Hawthorne die in Afghanistan recently. If all the Alumni from Hawthorne were counted that joined the military or were drafted it would be a long list. I am very proud of the fact that I come from a place where we collectively stand up for what we believe in. Everyone Take Care.

Message: Thanks for all of the wonderful birthday email wishes and especially the Cougartown wishes. I was a large baby (11 #?s) and so the doctors decided that I would be caesarian. They asked my mom when she wanted to have me and so she looked at the calendar and picked 11/11 (Armistice Day) so I never had to go to school on my birthday! Thanks Mom.

Message: Hey John and all Cougs, want to give a shout out to all the Veteran's who are or have courageously served our country so honorably. My family has a long history of service, including my brother Dennis '76. He served in the 82nd Airborne. He now belongs to the 82nd Airborne Assn and donates much of his spare time honoring Veterans by doing flag folding/Gun Salute services at Veterans funerals so no one is ever forgotten. Many of the oldest WWII Vet's have little or no family left and I love that he and his crew do this with love and gratitude for the Vet's. Fight ON!!

Message: I was reading an article about the upcoming Underwear runs that are increasingly popular on college campuses before finals and it got me thinking of the more daring version that took place in the mid 70s - Streaking. I remember a certain Frosh bball teammate streaking through the girls gym during the girls bball practice and streakers during my brothers graduation. I'm sure there are other famous HHS streakers stories. I think one of the upcoming reunion committees should consider staging an alumni underwear run to obtain publicity and raise $$ for charity. It could start in seniors square on the HHS campus and end at the Hawthorne Police station where all participants could be "arrested" for indecent exposure and their bail could be a donation to the charity. It would make the 11:00 news for sure and be a You Tube sensation. Also, depending on the class year, it could be called an underwear walk. Hmm, I'm not sure if the visual is making me laugh or cringe. :)
