Message: John Achrem, unreal video. That was awesome. You did a great job. That really brought back memories. I love just seeing it and recognizing people and remembering their names after 30 years of not seeing them. It surprised me. Also, John where was OSHA when those kids were playing on the frame.

Message: Had an opportunity to look at the memorial video and the pictures this weekend. My gosh, what a great effort was put in by you and all of the dedicated committee members. It was great fun seeing so many 62ers having an obviously fun couple of days together! Lots of years have passed and we have all chosen our paths in life in various directions........the one constant is the times we shared growing up, so many fond memories and pride in being able to call ourselves the Hawthorne Cougars. Such a wonderful bond that continues in large part because of your continuous efforts and caring. Thanks for caring John.......you're the best and I love ya' tons!
Hi Carol, Thanks very much and I do care, but our committee members, Dan, Linda, Nancy George, Eugene, Karen, and Loretta made this one happen. I just shut up and did what they told me to do. We had a great time. Sorry you couldn't make it, but glad you could be there through our pictures. See you at the 50th.....

Message: Hi John B, Something I want to pass on to you. Since I've been retired, Ive kept in touch with two workers. I showed the Cougartown web site to my italian buddy Bob, from Paso Robles High(1956) and Gary from Fullerton High(1962), they thought that was the best thing they have seen since sexy ladies. They said what a great way to try and find old classmates and friends. My hat is off to you also, John Baker.
Hey John G, Thanks a bunch for spreading the word on Cougartown. I don't know if it's better than sexy ladies, though

Message: John Achrem, fantastic job on the 1976 reunion video. I agree with Mister Baker that it transcends any particular class year and I would suggest all Cougars watch it. This is a superb effort. Congratulations on a job well done.
Actually I searched my Temp files for reunion[1].wmv and saved it on the ol' computer. Now I have a copy too. John, thanks so much for sharing this sparkling piece with everyone.

Besides the bond we all feel one for another, aren't we just so good looking!! Ok Ok maybe a few more gray hairs, less hair, a few pounds here and there......but still after all these years so good looking! A very special thank you to you John Baker for scanning all these pictures and getting them up on the website. I know it is a lot of work, and know you spent a lot of time doing it, but also know the love you have for our class as well as the other classes and that you are indeed blessed in doing it. We love you John!

Message: For those of you who would like to obtain a copy of the class of 1976 reunion video, either click or copy the following link. http://www.cdpiano.com/HHS/reunion.wmv
FYI: For those of you who have a high speed connection and Windows Media player on your PC, you should be able to click on the link (if it is active in your browser) or you can copy and paste it (the complete address above) and click GO. Once the player begins and it loads the video stream, you can adjust the screen size with the "view" drop-down menu (located at the top left part of the player) slide down and click "video size" and adjust for the best size for your monitor settings. However, in the event that Windows media player doesn't execute automatically, then start the program; (Windows Media Player) use the "file" drop-down menu and select "open URL" and type-in (or paste) the address in the pop-up window. If it is problematic for you to view, I will be happy to answer any questions or walk you through it.
Thanks John and 76ers, Enjoy....
Now that I've seen it for the second time, this thing is a 76er masterpiece. John, you've done your class very proud. You should be honored. I was tearing up, and you all were about 4 when I graduated. You really don't have to be a 76er to watch and enjoy this. You can relate this to any class in any city. Life, and especially youth, in very short. Relish it.

Message: In references to your hitcounter. Try Statcounter.com I use it on every website I do. It is great. You can control everything. From page refresh to IP. It tells you what country they come from, time of day, browser, screen resolution and all kinds of stuff. I love the country tracker, it's interesting to see where people are from that come to the page. It is free for the basic which is pretty good it just limits the number of hits it controls. You can upgrade for hardly anything. Just a great thing
Thanks Keith, Yes I know about Statcounter. The thing is I really don't care about too many statistics, mainly looking at this years count as it relates to last year.

Message: OK kids it's time for another episode of "Ask Mr. Cougartown a Question"- Gee Mr Cougartown I wonder if you could help me...I was wondering if Cougartown has a "hit counter" and can you give us a rough estimate of just how many folks have clicked on to view one or any of the pages here at Cougartown since it was originally started? ...Oh yeah, And when did Cougartown START? thanks ....and now kids it's time to sing our song ( to the music of the old Mickey Mouse Club song!) so everybody join in as we sing ...C-O-U , G-A-R...T-O-W-N , Cougartown...Cougartown, Forever let us hold our banner high...through the years we've all been friend where ever we may be......and so on...(thanks so much JOHN )
Hey Neil, Yes, Ctown has had several counters over its 9 years. At first it was just a number counter on the Index page, but now all sorts of pages are counted. BTW, counters really don't give a very good indication of how many people check a website, as most people, if they're interested in a page, check it many times a day. Also people will go to a page and click on a link on that page, and then click the BACK button on their browser, bringing them back to the page they started from, adding an extra count. Also, "Refreshing" a page adds a count. The Cougartown Feedback page, in July of this year had about 18000 hits and March 21000 hits. In the early 2000s it was 14000 to 16000 hits. I couldn't begin to estimate the number of "actual one time" hits per year, not counting refreshing and coming back to a page. ALSO, Cougartown is not like Amazon.com in that we only cater to one small group; HHSERS, BUT, there is a page that gets more hits than any other, and that's the 60s Slang page, because EVERYONE, not just HHSERS, finds it. So to ask how many people have viewed a page of Cougartown in the last 9 years.....I have NO idea. but if you know a mathematician, maybe she/he could help. HEY, Bob Gross, you want to tackle this one?

Message: I saw the reunion pictures. Once again the question comes up about the BEST athlete of ALL TIME at HHS. You saw his picture. Gary Mykkanen to my knowledge was the best. Let me give you an example. We were playing in the Pacific Shores Basketball Tournament and in the second game against Redondo,Gary went to the basket and two Redondo guys got out of his way. I have never seen this happen before or since. They got out of his way.
Hey Gary, That doesn't necessarily make him good...they got out of his way because he was BIG.

Hi Don, Thanks for that. Glad you, Pam Fees, Bob and Bill Jensen, and a few other classes had a chance to see the NEW HHS campus. It is really special and something the students should be very proud of. The award I am truly proud of, especially coming from my class. Thanks again 62ers, it means so much to me.
