Message: Regarding Doris' post about John and Sloey: "Too bad you guys ever grew up cuz old CT was laughing...." They grew up? Did I miss a feedback page? I definitely didn't hear the sirens and bells and whistles cause I know THAT would have happened if in fact THEY were all growed up. Do we actually know of any Cougars that grew up? I'm thinking... NOT on your life! Sorry I missed everyone at the '76 reunion. What really happened was Sharon wouldn't let me go because I had to stay home and work on the memory book. No, really, that's what happened. Plus she wanted John's attention all to herself and, well.. that's just what happened. I just got the pictures from Sharon so I'll be putting my nose to the grindstone to get the memory book finished. Looks like a GREAT time was had by all... who refuse to grow up, thank goodness!

Message: Last night while in the City of Lights, San Francisco, I was fortunate enough to have dinner with two of the Class of 73's finest, Jodi Tamburrino and Dori Gestone. A beautiful evening in the City by the Bay. It was if time had taken us all back to the day. Both women looked great and we all shared stories of how our lives have been and what we are looking forward to in years to come. One of those nights where we didn't want to say good-bye. The feelings and old days came rushing back!!!!! It is a great feeling to spend time with friends whom I've known for over 40 years and enjoy their company.

Message: Yea Carl! I've been a USC fan for many years, but for the next 4 years, at least, I'm a Bruin. One of my brightest and hardest working animation students is the true freshman who intercepted a pass and ran it for a 34 yard touchdown in UCLA's first game this season: Alterraun Verner (#1). It was the first time a Bruin freshman has done that since 1989. This relates to Hawthorne because I'm a Cougar and he was one of my students. Go UCLA!

Message: John, hope you don't mind if I change the subject(s)... I received email yesterday from "join-us-today@alumniarchive.net" out of Maryland. Their solicitation sounds like they really "care" about HHS Alumni, but it's probably just a moneymaking group. Do you know anything about them? Also, I haven't visited Feedback for months, so am reminded to send you some money. Forgetfulness at my age is way too common. Last, but not least, my ex trashed all my El Molino's years ago. If anyone out there has any books for '58 thru '62 they could part with, I would be very grateful and willing to pay for them, so please contact me. (I looked on e-bay several months ago with no luck.)

Message: Ya know, John ... I REALLY miss yours' and Sloeone's bike riding days down on the Strand. BOY! That made for some GREAT stories. Remember the time old Sloeone came around a corner and there were some people walking right into him so he did a 240 off the bike and landed on his ... head? or something. And how you guys were always trying to get the OTHER slow ones out of the way with your elbows? FUNNY FUNNY STUFF. Too bad you guys ever grew up cuz old CT was laughing everyday with you guys and your many stories! It's been so LONG since I've been down there ... is the STRAND still there???!!! Ahhh! Those were the good old days, huh?

She took half of everything I owned." I'm STILL rollin' on the floor laughing over that one! And although most of us get tired of hearing about sports, the verbal sniping between "the boys" (Sloeone and Mr. Greasby) is very funny and entertaining! Okay ... NOW on to Hawthorne stuff! Uhhhh ... errrr ... GO COUGARS! Will that do John? LOL!

Message: Ok Jim you want to hear about the "fire toss" in Lennox when we bacame bored with cruising the boulevard one night and the A&W was closed. Anyway, Raymond Wheeler (LHS) was riding with Danny Kiefer HHS('62)and Dennis Myerson one night when he wanted to see what happened when a "molitoff-cocktail" was thrown from a moving car. First we needed a glass milk bottle. (Remember when Arden would pick up and deliver those on the front porch?) Anyway, soon we spotted one and snagged it followed by filling it with gas at a local station and topping it off with a dirty rag from Danny's trunk. Next, we needed a clear spot to give it a toss and the street south of Lennox High was chosen. Then came the moment Raymond tipped the glass bottle upside down to soak the rag "in the back seat" of the car. Not too dangerous. At about 40 miles per hour one of us lit the rag and yelled for Raymond to toss it out which he did. To our shock it "bounced" twice before breaking and spewing burning fuel under a parked car. Danny killed his head lights and sped off into the dark. WE weren't too scared. The next day I returned in my car alone to see a scorched Ford coupe still parked in the same place. Thankfully the gas tank didn't blow. Needless to say that was the first and last time we did that. Danny's GIANT Tiki torches were actually a lot more fun but I'll let him tell you that story.Alan

Message: Wow all this football talk. I saw Holy Glen park was mentioned. Man when I was a freshman we used to have some great games there. It was like an all-star game sometimes. We would have maybe 100 people watching us. My brother, John Dye, Larry Poltash (I think), Gene Skulik, Terry House, and others would play. They let me play and i was really wirey and hard to catch. I remember John Dye was really fast and he could throw with both hands. Our over the line games were fun too. Mike Colburn, Mike Scott, Gary Allenson, my brother, Dean Morris too I think and me. I remember playing behind the stands at the south field and hitting towards Peter Burnett.

Message: GOD ALMIGHTY!!! Doesn't anyone "MALE" in the Greasby/Sloey Families know how to spell? LOL...I had to attend the University of Tennessee to learn how to do that. The Big-12 will prevail over the Pac-10! Mark my words. If not, you will not hear from me, for another 27yrs. Clark,"WAKE UP"! SC has always had the referee's in their back pockets. Didn't they teach you that in "Pom-Pom Waving" 101??? If SC had to play the SEC, ACC, or Big-10 (O.S.U., Michigan, etc..) more often, you'd see some great football games. From a loser's point of view. Jim, if I may, I will be rooting y'all on, come Saturday. GO BIG REDS!!! That's all I have to say about that...
Oh and one more thing, Clark. If Leroy Frye had anything to do with the game at Holly Glen Park,(both deceased now) between SC and Nebraska, you'd be on the losing end. Leroy would own the officials and the field. LOL...

Message: Clark let's get a few things straight. First of all we're Midwesterners through and through we're not wannabees, can't you smell the pig slop? Second it's the big 12 not the big 10+1, and we don't get French benefits, third if we lose there won't be any excuses, we won't be available. Finally you were right about my brother but he was a better middle linebacker than a coach.
