Message: Just two quick things, as a 58 year olds mind works:
1)What was the cole slaw recipe from BBQ PETE.
2)All respect to Brian Tully; but remember Sandie Tully? What 14 year old doesn't.

The cole slaw recipe from BBQ Petes was the recipe they used to make the cole slaw.
And yes we all remember Sandie Tully, now Sandie Tully Perry. She lives in the Las Vegas area with husband, and fellow HHS60 Cougar, Jim. Hey Jim and Sandie, Please Feedback us sometime.

Message: Yo! John.... Honest Abe once said, or kinda said... if you can fool some of the people some of the time, and part of the people part of the time, take em, those are good odds. As for the new digs for HHS Cafeteria, two items could be causing the hiccup.
1. the Old Coach may not be pleased with the electricial work....OR
2. There may be a bad plumbing problem, based on the pictures foreground. Keep smiling, and don't be answering the scam artist.... not real good odds.

Good advice, Frank... thanks

Secondly, John would have NOTHING to do with idiots like this. I would hope that Cougars learned a little more in life to believe this fool. I will try to ping his address and find out where this joker has his email hosted, and I will turn him in personally.
Thank you Thank you Thank you John for ALL you do. BLAMING you would be the last thing I would do. Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.........

Thanks Dave and there is a website to turn these Nigerian type "Help Me" emails into. Cindy Whittaker sent it to me. If you get one of these emails, forward it to uce@ftc.gov Go here to read more from the Federal Trade Commission on the Nigerian Scam.
Thanks Cougs....

Thanks Sharon, If he got them off the Alumni List he did it manually, and probably just took the primary email address.

Oh yeah, I have 13 requests from Cougs to be removed from the Alumni List as we speak. Please reconsider, as there are many many ways to get added to a spam list, but the way your email addresses are listed here, they aren't easy to pick up in bunches.

Message: I had an interesting email this morning from a supposed ex hawthorne student Scott Williams. It turns out to be a Nigerian scam letter that I am sure most of you are aware of. He must have been one of the poorer guys only wanted to offer me 7.5 mil. Why heck I had an offer from a dying prince of Dubai for almost a billion. So I guess they have found your website John and are going to mine it for email addresses.
Hi Mary, I believe this guy gathered these email addresses manually. Mining software looks for "mail to" tags or "@" signs inside "A HREF" tags. I don't want anyone to panic and asked to be removed from the alumni list. This is a very positive thing we do here. More email addresses are mined off of a "Gang Forwarded email joke", or a "greeting card site". This is someone who has gone to lots of trouble to pretend to be a brother Coug and that is all there is to it.

Message: Hi all: Wearing the shirt and spreading the word!
John;
I took myself out for a late breakfast Sunday wearing my Cougar-town ?T? shirt. Two people in the restaurant approached me with their own recollections of HHS.
One of them knew you John back in the day. Brain Tully from class of 1961, remembers you well and sends his regards. The second gentleman?s name is Ronnie Burgess from class of 1963. Mr. Tully has been to this site before and enjoys visiting occasionally. Mr. Burgess was delighted to know he has a site to go to where he can check up on old friends from years gone by.
Saturday evening was cold and rainy. We had thoughts of cruising by Foster Freeze, but opted for the comfort of our home. My lady and I comfortable with a bottle of wine the warmth created by our fire place and a movie. Maybe next time!
Best wishes Cougars,
LeRoy Cannefax ?71

Hi LeRoy and thanks for the Cougar siting. Yes, I know Brian very well and I just may remember Ronnie Burgess. I think he had an older brother, Donald(?), and one of them was on my Little League team (Optimidgets). Anyway, glad to hear that your Cougartown Tshirt set you apart from the norm, and got you noticed.

John, a special thanks to you for all the effort and time you put into this website. You have no idea the response I recieved from people who were so excited to be reunited with old friends. I was able to put people in touch with friends they had not seen or heard from in over 20 years and that, as you must know, is a wonderful feeling.

Thank you Dana, That's what the website is here for and glad to hear it's working very well.

Foster?s is so 21st.century now; it doesn?t fit with our past. I guess the song (sung by I forget) Time keeps on slippin slippin into the future also means towns now have to meet with the future needs of modern times. I grew up in a different time and loved it like most of the c-towners that visit your site, only we had the Beach Boys. My oldest son says he had the group Kiss and my youngest son says he has CKY. I bow down to you J.B and thank you from the bottom of my heart. A special thanks to J.B.2 for all the time she allows you to be away from her at your computer. LOL.

Message: I was looking at the campus building progress, and was a little surprised to see the ROTC stuff. I'm very pro defense, conservative, prefer that we fight in Baghdad not LA, etc. spent 2 years in the USMC, and visited Vietnam, but I don't particularly like seeing this in a high school. I greatly respect, appreciate, and value our military, and am glad there are people willing to make the sacrifices that a military career involves, but I'm a little uncomfortable about 16 year olds who don't have a clue about war, marching around in uniforms with toy M1s. I was wondering what others think about this?
I am very glad that I was not put into a situation where I had to kill another human, but sitting in a hole looking out through 100 yards of wire, and knowing you have to do your best to kill anyone you see out there isn't a great feeling. It can be necessary, but not very glorious.

Thanks Ken, but really don't need a big "war-no war" debate on the Feedback page. With all the Doves and Hawks we have here, it just tends to polarize the feedbackers. Let's keep the talk about Hawthorne and leave the fighting to the military. If anyone wants to debate Ken on this subject, please email him directly. Thanks Cougs....
