Message: To Dale Hahlbeck Jr.: I confess, that was me. But after 40 years, I think the statute of limitations has run out. How is your uncle George? My brother Bob would really love to get in contact with him. George is the one who got Bob into surfing, and now he shapes and builds custom boards. Is there some way we can get those two in contact?

Mom was so happy to see all of you. Of course her favorite is handsome Robin Hood. She was brought to tears by so many friendly people and almost everyone had something nice to say about her daughters, and her son. (Thanks guys, the checks are in the mail....) I love my CTown T. I've not worn much else since Sat. nite! I love all you guys. Have a great final month of Summer. Catch ya all at Homecoming! OH! P.S. to Mo, your choc. cake is Heavenly! And to Holly Hollingsworth, You are still so beautiful. How do you do that?

Message: Great cruise night!! Hey I`m really excited to see all the 50`s people starting to show up! Great to see Ray Shelley write in . One of the most solid citizens to ever attend HHS! I take great pride in having him for a good friend. Thanks to CT we have hooked up again! Thank you John! Really a fun Sat. night. Thanks to all, Wayne, our great CT ambassador & Donna, Robin for the Ramona flashbacks, Norv, Jerry Sloan, Optimist club short stop, always a tuff out, say hi to Gail when you see her, Ken Huthmaker, Jeane Musgrave, Marilyn Ross, & Millie Roberts. You are right on Ray, she still has that beautiful smile & hasn`t changed at all since 58, one of the lucky one`s. Judy B. I have to apoligize for only buying you one burger. You must have been weak from hunger the rest of the night?? I repeat, they say you can never go back! How wrong they are! If you don`t believe me just take a ride with John B. It`s the best bargain in the country! Try it! Buster Browns dog? That`s my dog Tide, he lives in there too?? My Aunt took me down to Hollywood to see that radio show when I was a kid, but I don`t remember for sure? John, hope that bike ride comes together? Thanks again to all, had a great time. I wouldn`t walk a mile for a Camel, but I`d drive 500 miles any day for a Cougar!!! See ya soon. TB from AZ
Hey Tom, Glad you made it down. It's always fun when a fellow Chevy guy shows for Cruise Night. Hope to see you for Homecoming too. The bike ride, we'll work on. Thanks again man, you have the spirit.

Gilbert and I couldn't stay to long we had other plans going on but really enjoyed the time we were there with everyone. Thanx John for a great turn out!

Yes this one was the best yet, and they just keep getting better. Really folks, it doesn't matter when you graduated. We all have HHS in common and there's plenty to talk about.

Message: John, what a great website! A fellow cougar graduate from 1973 told me about Cougartown and I had so much fun reading over the feedback section and also seeing that some of my favorite teachers from HHS are still alive and well! I had some great times at HHS hanging out with friends Debbie Morrow, Nancy Richardson, and Sharon Myren. Bob's Big Boy in Inglewood was always a great place to go after the football games. Terry Howse was our star running back and I think our team made it to the CIF championships, once or twice(?) This is a good place to ask any cougars out there if they know whatever happened to friends Lisa Snyder, Sheree Spivey (who introduced us to the Magic Pan crepe restaurant), and Nancy Bryan. They didn't attend the 10-year or 20-year reunions, and I'd like to know if anyone out there knows where they are now. Guess this will be one website I'll have to check a lot! Thanks again, John!
Hey Sally, Glad you found the site and I'm sure someone knows where your friends are. Stick around as it only gets better by the minute.....

Message: Hi Everyone, I am glad that Cruise Night III worked out so great. I had hoped to join in the fun, I was going to fly a trip into Burbank and rent a car and go cruising with yu'all (sorry I live in the south now), but the Capt that I was going to fly his trip for, was going out to see his girl friend and did not want me to fly it. I told him that I was trying to go out and see some old girl friends, but he was not impressed. I read John Rout's feedback and he said that Gary Mykkanen, Dennis Lord and Larry Husted showed up.. I have to say Mick, where in the hell have you been! You, Reale, Long and me have to get together and talk about times in Big Bear. Dennis it was great to hear from you. Ramona football, stop and go, Johnson to Lord. Gotta love it! Larry Husted, have not seen you since my wifes (class of 69) 10yr reunion, how are you and how is Christie? I also read a note from Wayne Dickey and I know that my bride of 28yrs, knows Wayne. So Wayne write Linda Johnson, "Linda Laurich Class of 69" at "joyouslinda@yahoo.com" and say hi. She has only been online a short time and it would be really cool if some of her old friends would write and say hi. I get to the west coast fairly often and would love to have lunch/dinner with all my "old" friends. Please let me know how to get in touch. John, if you come to Tenn to visit your sister, maybe we could get together. It would be great. Gotta go Ya All, Keep up the good work, Les

Message: Boy the cruise nite was great! My first time back to Hawthorne in about 20 years. We cruised through El Segundo, my husbands old home town. Stopped at Woodys on Sepulveda, that's one I had forgotten about. They used to have a do-it-yourself ice cream bar, no more. Went by Hawthorne High, that's real depressing. Then went by Hawthorne Intermediate, its bigger and they have grass! Things have changed a lot. But recognized some stores still there. I went with my husband and my friend Jeanne Musgrave. I met Richard Hanson from my class of '56. We met several '58 and '59 "kids" and had a real good time talking. Although I didn't know them from before we knew some of the same people, and now they seem like old friends. Ken Huthmaker, Tom Burroughs, Millie Roberts and Jeanne, thanks for making my evening so special. It would be nice if some '54 and '55 people would come so I don't have to feel like the oldest gal there. I have found a couple of sites I thought some of you may enjoy. forjoy.com/cafe/index.htm Oldies but Moldies Cafe, it covers 50's, 60's and 70's TV shows and music. Also angelfire.com/ca/PartiGirl/index.html Local Legends.
Thanks for being there last night Marilyn. You might have felt like the oldest gal there, but to the rest of us you were still a senior. GET IT........SENIOR.......uh, get it........never mind.....

Grandkids are great, you can spoil them and give them back to their parents when you are through!
Hey Sharon, Yes, I'll post the details after I know something. School is out now and I think Bob Wyler, activities director, is off on a mountain climbing expedition or something.

Those Valencias are a magical, fun group of women!
Biker Scum Mike McClain arrived at Foster's in Style. Nice bike too!
Dewey Storie, where were you? Susan Bierman was AWOL as well.
John, I know you are a busy guy and I'm not complaining mind you. I was just wondering what was happening with the newsletters for those cougs who do not have access to the online world? It would be great to get them rallied together for Homecoming.
Gary Nix, where are you? I heard you swept the women off their feet at the first Vegas mini-meet.

Hey Kathleen, Re the Newsletter. OK, it's about time and I say let's put the first one together. I think we should stick with our own HHS journalism people. Anyway, I'll put a page up and we'll pick an editor, (Konnie Krislock, are you out there) and that person can put together some journalism people from different HHS eras. Thanks for coming last night Kathleen and Michael, and thanks for bringing the 36 too.

Message: John thank you so much for another successful cruise night. Even though I am from the class of 81 and usually the only one there from the 80's I still always have fun. All the people from all the other classes before me are so nice. You never feel out of place even though everyone else knows each other. I was surprised to see that a couple of people from the 80's showed up. Actually there were 4 people I think, Gilbert Manriquez, Linda Elia and 2 others from 82 that I can't remember there names (sorry). Where are all the other people from the late 70's and early 80's? I know we are all really busy working, raising kids, and living at a screaming pace but you have to have fun sometimes. Why not give one of the C-town get togethers a chance. It is such a neat feeling seeing all these people that have not seen each other for years getting together and rekindling the friendships they had long ago. People drive from all over the place to be at these get togethers. Couple of people were from Bakersfield one guy from Arizona alot from south Orange County. At this point you're thinking "Oh my god, she needs to get a life" well I have a very busy life but like to hold on to a little bit of nostalgia and always like to meet new people and make new friends. Maybe you guys should try it. Okay now that I have gotten that off of my chest......Where is everyone's 10.00 for Ctown membership? John Baker works really hard to keep Ctown going and planning all the events and getting the T shirts made. Don't you think $10.00 is a small price to pay for all he has done for us. I looked through the alumni lists and hardly anyone has sent the initial $10.00 let alone the second years dues. This is really sad. You cant go to a movie and get popcorn for under $10.00 these days and Ctown can keep you amused alot longer that a hour and a half movie can. Well I feel better now. I probably made some people mad but that's okay, they'll get over it. Thank you John, we had a great time last night
Thanks Lori for the Ctown commercial. Yes, we do have a great time at these things, and you're right about, "it doesn't matter when you graduated". You're going to run into a story or a person that you can relate to. I love to see people meeting for the first time in 30 odd years. This isn't a "Class Reunion" style get together. It's all about Hawthorne. I talked to lots of people last night that I never met before, face to face, but knew, (Bob Milazzo, Jerry Skaff, Art Verduzco) and it was like I'd known them all my life. It's truly a unique experience, and Lori, I know you and Mario have a great time at these functions. Heck, you're like an old friend to me now. Thanks again to all who showed last night. It was a kick.......
