.....another cruise night memory flogger for the early 60's group. If you don't remember Hunter Hancock, you didn't own an AM radio. Hunter Hancock was an LA Icon in the 50's and 60's. I remember him on KPOP and KGFJ. Thanks El Rojo for the clip Hunter Hancock

Message: Steve ('61) and I have enjoyed all the posts about your upcoming cruise night. Sounds like a real blast. Since we can't be with you in person we will be there in spirit we will be cruising Saturday night to the Sonic Drive-in with Steve's sister Linda (Dawson) Dietrich ('69) and her husband Leonard (Leuziner grad.). After that we plan a dip in the development pool! Want to join us? These Kansas City, Missouri nights are the pitts, no ocean breeze to cool us off!
Thanks for all your devotion to us, John. You really started something when you got the idea to begin the webpage. It is more than that to a lot of people! It is their link to the past and a chance to renew friendships for the future!
Hello, to Judy DeGrazia who has been urging me to input here!
Take care,

Hi Linda, Have some ice cream on Saturday night, as you'll be here in spirit. Thanks also to Judy DeGrazia, our resident Cougartown brown noser (private joke there), for prodding you. It's nice to hear from you guys every once in a while. Thanks Linda......Be a Coug'

Looking in my yearbook I didn't know you graduated in 1963 from Hawthorne High, very interesting, all I know is that we knew each other when our daughters played softball together. Well how the heck are you and the girls? Are you living at the same place in Hawthorne? Well if everything goes as planned I will see you on Cruise Night. It sure would be great to hear from others from the 60's.

Message: John,
I think you should consider not being king but "GRAND WIZZARD"! You have proven you have the power just look at how you created CougarTown. You have more power then any ol' king. I think your editors for the newsletter should be your apprentices. As for the kingdom yes there might as well be a kingdom. The king would report to you. I think that Leeroy should be king. Yes, if mom V won't come through for you, you need a ($20m) backup plan. See you at cruise night!

Hey Chris, Isn't the Grand Wizard, the leader of the KKK? I think I'll stick with King.

Message: Hi everyone! We're counting down the days to the Class of '79 Reunion at the House of Blues this Saturday, July 24. Tickets are still available for anyone who'd like to join us. A LAST MINUTE CHANGE has been made to the PICNIC SITE for the Sunday Picnic on July 25. We'll be meeting at POLLYWOG PARK AT 1:00PM, located at 1601 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Manhattan Beach off of Aviation Blvd. Look for the tables with the red and yellow table cloths. It's a BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH, and will give us a chance to do some more catching up. There will be a couple of games and stuff for the kids and for us big kids...well you know we'll probably want to participate in the games too. I'll be there early around 11:00am to set up, so anyone who'd like to join me a little early are more than welcome. Pollywog is also featuring Concerts in the Park which starts at 5:00pm. So if you'd like to stay for that, bring a bottle of wine and some snacks and enjoy the concert from the lawn seating. Should be loads of fun. Look forward to a partying and reminiscing filled weekend. Would have loved to have joined you guys for Cruise Night. Sounds like a Blast! Oh and John, OUTSTANDING WORK you're doing here. I could spend hours on this page and get absolutely nothing done. Thanks for giving me a place of refuge!
Thank YOU Maggie for checking in. See....if you place their picture on the website, "They Will Come".....and do not be a stranger here. Have a great time this weekend. The 20th is Magic Time.
Let's see, if Happy T. Jones married Maggie's brother . . . . . .

Message: Hi Pam Short! This is in response to your call for people that graduated from Leuzinger in the 40's. My dad and his 7 sisters all graduated from Leuzinger. He graduated in 49 and I am not sure what years his sister's graduated but 6 of them graduated before him and one after. There names are Betty, Helen, Jackie, Marion, Dorothy, Donna and Shirley. I also had a brother that graduated from HHS in 71 like you, his name was Bob Padelford, he passed away in 1983. On a lighter note where are all the people from the classes of the 80's especially c/o 81. Were our lives so boring we have nothing to write about? How about the people that went to St Joe's where are you ? Linda Snyder, Beth Kozlow,Linda and Carole Stellino, John Baxter etc... Mandy Treckman do you remember me? Wish I could be at cruise night but we're having a BBQ bash for my birthday on Saturday. Have a chocolate chip shake for me.
BBQ Bash!? Sounds good Lori. We'll all be at your house at 10:30. Pam Short, There are lots of Hinzo's that graduated in the 40's, that are still in Lawndale. Also Bob Hartzell, the ex Fire Chief graduated from Leuzinger in, I'm guessing, the 40's. I saw him at memorabilia days earlier this year. Another one is Walt Dixon who used to own B&B Camera, and still lives in Hawthorne. Hope there's a name you remember there.

We have lawyers ready to come to my rescue don't we?? I know, the king can decree it OK for one night! Seriously, I believe as long as it's for a non-profit organization (and cougartown is that!) it should be fine. See ya all on Saturday. We should be dancin' in the streets :)
Your father in law was Chief for 100 years, I am King, and if things get sticky, we have Prince James "Algonquin J. Calhoun" Sloey, who's slogan on his card says, "if the glove don't fit, you must acquit" i've got to remind him to get some new business cards.... so there's nothing to worry about.

Did anyone ever go there and really pay attention to where their wheels were taking them, or was everyone too busy paying attention to everyone else's wheels? I mean, what if someone wanted to show up unprepared, is there a spotlight pointed to the sky that will be on? Will there be ice cream cone fire works? Neon arrows down Hawthorne Blvd? Police escorts? hmmm?
Why would someone want to know this information, especially since someone said that someone was not going to be in town?

Message: Hey John, when I was going back on feedback and saw that picture of Zeke and Ron, it brought back a memory of them. Zeke was a good wrestler and would win alot, I believe he won due to his hair, back then to get your curl to stay we used grease. When I would get him in a head lock, he would slip out and win, It had to be the Grease!! Zeke was one of the nicest guys, and the different reunions we had, he had not changed, one of the nice guys. Bob Frazier and I have stayed in contact with Ron, although it has been 5 years since I saw him. Now this man is a true, "Do not judge a book by its cover" person. When we were in School, he loved to wear long trench coats and a good old mafia type hat, did his driving around in a 1941 Packard Limo with the front seat taken out, so as he could be riding low, He had dated Hessie Mcknight(62)a few times and anyone remembering her, will tell you she did not even make 4'11", so when she sat in that front seat, she would get a great view of that Dashboard!! Ron too was a good guy, but seeing him in that car was a sight. All in fun. No one would ever have believed he ended up being a teacher and went on to be a School Principal at a Indian Reservation in Arizona. Two of the nicest guys with Great careers. Loretta spoke to Dickie Norton, he's Married to Coach Chanucey's daughter Jan. They just got back from vacation, but they will try making Crusin Night with one of his seven cars!!! I need to get with Bob Frazier and get him going on Saturday too! This is getting so big and it will be fun. See you all saturday!!!
That picture of Chris and Ronnie has stirred up such a batch of emails. I was talking to Linda Jones HHS62 yesterday, and she said she went to Ronnie's Senior Prom with him. I asked her if she went steady with him and she said no. I said how did you, a Sophomore, get a date with a Senior that you really didn't know. She said, "he asked me and I was afraid to say no." Now linda, I know you were just kidding. Weren't you??
Thanks Lar', I'll call Bob too. See you Saturday....

So if you give me the keys my brudder and I shall be happy to guard it through the entire game and after the game while everyone is at the new Stick and Stein. In fact we would be honored to just guard it forever. Otherwise what Robin said. Did i get it right, My Patti that i am always "concerned" about, isn't going to cruise night? Robin are you really coming to Homecoming? Why not cruise night, this Prince thing is too tough to do Solo, and El Rojo, I do believe you were made a Prince too so what could keep you in Idaho when you could be cruisin fosters again?
