Message: MORE WAYS TO HELP HHS and it still doesn't cost you a dime! Albertsons has a community program as well and HHS is signed up already. So you Albertsons shoppers, grab your Preferred Savings cards, log on to www.Albertsons.com enter your zip code, then at the bottom of the next page, click on In the Community. Next page, click on Community Partners (right side of screen). Next page click on Shoppers Login etc. Next page enter your Preferred Savings card number and phone number (left side of screen.) Next page click on My Account. Next page click on Add a Partner. Next page enter ID# 49000124089 and click Add a Partner. This should add HHS as your partner. I know it sounds like a maze; I guess they want to know that you really MEAN it when you say you want to support your school!!! If you have any problems let me know and I'll try to figure it out. We're getting an OUTSTANDING response to the call to support HHS. So far 3 classes are tied for first place: 62, 69, 76.
GEEZ, Sounds simple to me I'll see if we can't simplify that one when it gets to the Alumni Association page. Thanks again, Sharon...

Message: It's a 100 mile round trip either way from this bump-in-the-road to the nearest Target, so they're not on my shopping list. Sorry. But, it's a GREAT idea!!! Unforutnately, Wal Mart's the biggy around here. Don't know if they'd do the same, as they're gouging everyone and not too big on community support. I shop Dollar General except for groceries and boycott Wally World whenever possible. HOWEVER, ISN'T IT GREAT TO BE A COUGAR???

Message: THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF THESE GREAT TIMES, AND YEARS IN OUR LIVES. I OFTEN THINK OF THESE DAYS, AND WISH THEY WERE STILL HERE, BUT THANKS TO YOU THEY ARE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE. I LIVED IN INGLEWOOD DURING THE 60S, AND GRADUATED FROM INGLEWOOD HIGH, BUT ALSO ENJOYED THE CRUISING, MUSIC, LOOKING AT GIRLS, AND OF COURSE THE [A], AND WICH STAND.
AGAIN, THANKS SO MUCH, AS I WILL BE RETURNING OFTEN.
Hey Thomas, Thanks for the nice words and like I've said many times, it really doesn't matter what school you are from, as we all did the cruising, looking at/for girls, etc. in the 60s. We all have that in common. We are the American Graffiti Set. Thanks again...

Message: Tell me about it! Mike drives from Thousand Oaks to Newport Beach Mon-Fri not to mention the side trips. Plus we have a teen driver in the house who has to pick up and drop off all his friends so you can imagine what our fuel bills are. So far there's no gas companies who are willing to share the pain, I mean, profits, with the schools. AAA has a credit card that gives a 5% rebate on gas purchases. Other companies have gas deals too but so far AAA is the best percentage I've found. So I'm thinking I'll use AAA's card for gas and keep my Citibank credit card for everything else (groceries, etc) to earn airline miles. We've earned enough points over the years to get 5 free domestic flights and two International flights. Anyone else have a line on a better deal out there?

Message: Ok John, You made me feel so guilty, but I did have good intentions of going back later on to get my Target card for the number and totally forgot. So.......Thank you for reminding us/me, I'm betting alot of other Cougars, had the same thoughts to go to get their card from another room then forgot all about it!! I think this just might be one of the reasons for a low response. Again, Thank you for reminding all of us. ALWAYS A COUG
Geez Loretta, didn't mean to make you feel guilty. Actually with over 6300 alumni on the website and say 66% of those are active. Now maybe only 25% of those check the website regularly and maybe only 25% of those (of course we want more than that) sign up. That would be 260 Cougars. Maybe I just got a little impatient. I'm sorry for that, and thanks again, Loretta, and all, for signing up.

Message: Hey Cougars, I am totally astounded at how few people have signed up to help out HHS on the Escrip and Target giveaways. Why aren't you doing this? It is FREE and it helps out OUR HHS. Please sign up. It doesn't cost you a thing and goes to a very worthy cause, I know we're all interested in. If you are reticent about the program, please email me or let us all know right here why you don't want to sign up. I am really curious. Thanks to all who've already signed up, and be assured, your signing up does make a difference. Thanks all.

Take a look at Denny Unfried's (HHS55) website if you want to see how Teardrops are made. He IS the master. Thanks Armand...

Message: Regarding Donkey Basketball at HHS. I was actually on the team in 1976. In order to be on the team you had to go out to the community and sell ads for the program. If you look in the 1976 yearbook there are pics. My daughter also played in the HHS Donkey Basketball game in 2004. At that time it was the "top athletes" in all sports against the teachers - Nikki was representing the girls soccer team. I actually had to force her to accept the invitation to play. She had a blast!! Haven't heard if they are going to have it this year or not....hopefully they will and my son will be invited to play representing the baseball team.
Thanks for the information, Jodi, and now we know it's still a tradition. Now, when did Donkey Basketball start at HHS? We know it wasn't around in 56 and it WAS in 62.

Message: COUGAR SIGHTING! John I don't know if this counts or not because it was on TV. Last night I was watching Miami Ink and the guys were contacted by the show Orange County Choppers that Paul Senior and his girlfriend Beth wanted tattoos. Two of the guys ended up going to Orange County to tattoo the two. When Paul Seniors girlfriend Beth appeared on screen I almost fell out of my chair, it was none other than our Beth Santos - Class of 1975! She was getting a tattoo to mark her 50th birthday. She looks wonderful! I don't know if this counts or not but it was great to see Beth.
Hi Heather, Doesn't count as a sighting but it's great to know that Paul Sr. has a great Cougar girlfriend Thanks for letting us know and I'll be looking for her on the show.
