Message: 5259 W. 126th Street, Osborne 5-3883 - I was told that I had to stay in my room until I memorized my address and phone number so I guess it will stay in my brain forever - Now, I use to babysit five lovely little blonde girls; Mary Rita, Kathy, Patty, Paula and Adrienne Appleman - Mary Rita is listed in the alumni but her email doesn't work - the freeway took their home so the other girls may not have attended HHS - Where are you girls I'd love to hear from you:-)
There you go, Applemans. You have a friend in Ctown. Thanks Lillian...

Message: What happened to Cheryl Carr? She was in charge of Drill Team. I heard so much about her, and my mom and my sister Meese (Mariza Ripley)'81 made bow ties from Cougarette plaid fabric for George Key and some others one year. We had a big living room, and some of the drill team would come over to rehearse on weekends. I used to join them...mocking their precision moves until her friends laughed and my sister's blood boiled. In moments of muted animosity, I remember Meese talking about Kathy Adkins and her drills; Now that second hand stuff helped me through college, so thanks, Kathy wherever you may be.

Message: I just tried out www.zillow.com and went to 3712 W. 116 street. Not only I saw my house but saw that they remodel the home and extended the backyard fence. I told my mom what the price is and she just about dropped her mouth($557,000)! Later I looked at my house and was pleased to see it here in Oregon and was happy to see the value of my home go up 50 grand. but the location of the home/picture was not accurate so maybe there is a ratio of error on it. I had a conversation with a friend about turning "18" in high school and my mom was involved in the conversations when I told my mom that when I turn 18 I was writing notes to myself to excuse me from Class(Typing, 8:15 am). She had NOOOoooo idea I was doing such a thing! I told her no need to worry...I still got an A and only missed 19 days from it(20 days and I might of been dropped from class).

Message: Here's our Hawthorne addresses...Charlie (and Rick) Cozby at 5135 W.133rd Street. I know Susan Morris lived down the street and Greg ('69) (shoot can't remember his last name), was right across the street. My home was 5438 W. 141st Street and we had a huge group there...Joey & Jan Spencer, Rick Grey, Clay & Paul Jordan, Gary, Eric & Nancy Koch, Robbie Walker & his brother, the Gramlichs and two more families with Cougars that I just can't remember...all between Judah & Isis! Our house was the scene of several big parties. One time a few individuals even blocked the ends of the street with cars in an effort, (I think), to keep the police at bay. It didn't work of course. My mom lives there still, but we may be selling soon and moving her in with us. I'll hate losing that last connection to my childhood.

Message: John, The nostalgia that Jerry Miles has created is great. My problem is I can't see where you are archiving the older ones! With all of the comments about them I'm sure that people who have not seen them yet would like see all of them. I think that I have missed at least one.
Hey Chris, You snooze, you lose....I'll add them somewhere, thanks....

Message: JB, this blows my mind. As you may recall, my sister (and mother of three Cougars) who you met at Foster's in '05 graduated Morningside High 1969. At that time, we lived directly across the street from Center Park Elementary School (where I attended 1st through 3rd grade). I don't remember our address, but I do know that Center Park's address is 3680 W. 111th Street. That means we lived on the same block as where your Mom's house was.
My Mom's was the little white frame house directly West of Center Park Elementary. She had great seats for the games at recess. It is a SMALL world. Thanks Dan, and if people leaving Feedback would add their Hawthorne address, how many shout outs would we get? I'd bet this is more common than you'd think.

Hey Dan, Thanks for that and have a great time down south.

Message: John you always make me laugh out loud! Neil, wow, thanks for the information! I'm printing it out and making a shopping list... errr... after I finish these last few scanning chores. I think my extension cord will reach down that hole in the closet under the house so I can keep scanning during the worst of it. You guys will see the next tornado news story and see me flying through the sky holding my scanner tight to my chest saying noooo, I'm not done yet! Geez at least in an earthquake I'd be able to stay put and keeping working. Yikes, gotta go, next page is done! Then I'm going to watch Elvis mow his lawn next door (I'm serious - my neighbor's name is Elvis!). See Sharon, another interesting neighbor for you and Mike to make potato cannons with when you come see me here!
Keep Scannin'....

Message: Cindy, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. John doesn't need those pics scanned right now anyway. You just relax for a minute.. sixty, fifty nine fifty eight..... okay, girl, BACK TO WORK!!! I remember back in the 60s we lived at 3755 W 115th, at Doty. One very wet winter a HUGE hole opened up in the backyard. Someone said it was an old septic tank. I didn't know what that was, then. I think dad tore down an old freestanding brick BBQ and filled the hole with the bricks. Anyone else have that happen?
Yes, my mom did and she lived 3701 W 111th in Inglewood, only a few blocks from you. I wonder if that whole (or should it be "hole") area is like that?
Back to the scanner, Cindy....

I have been hearing some disturbing news tonight about a low-life POS cruising Hawthorne looking to rob/harm school girls at gunpoint. They showed Leuzinger, Kit Carson, and a couple of other targeted ?local? schools on the news. All I have to say is DON?T MESS WITH OUR KIDS!! Hopefully they will catch this sick? uh?person soon before he can do anymore harm to these kids. Maybe it is good that there is a fence around HHS now --- Baxter

Message: John I'm sorry! I'm working on them now! Did I mention that since I moved here on Mar 23 I've been ripping up carpet, linoleum, more carpet, more linoleum, demolishing kitchen cabinets (I own my own mallet and crowbar now!), washing walls (3 times thanks to that stinky tenant who skipped), primering twice (is 5 gal of primer too much to use on an above garage studio apartment?), painting once, scraping glue off of wood floors, hauling junk, scraping paint, digging trenches looking for the water main, digging holes to replace broken sewer pipe (can you imagine if we hadn't discovered that now?), filling in trench when water pipe ends up being abandoned (where is that water main?), carrying old cast iron kitchen sink into house to scrub clean - those suckers are heavy!... hmmm, what else... oh yea staying up till 3am to finish designing menus for friends restaurant, business cards for other friend's biz, ad and bill inserts for company I just left in Wa, design logo and biz card for myself (anyone got a good name for my company?), job hunting, shuttling friends daughter all over town, job hunting, lawn mowing, weed pulling, squirrel catching - still haven't caught that bugger yet. And in MY house I've pulled up carpet, pulled up the tack strips, pulled up some linoleum (who covers ceramic tile with two layers of linoleum?). Oh yikes, I forgot to do my taxes, dagnabit! I can't think of anything else but I'm pretty sure there's more. Found a job today and start on Monday so between now and then I just have to finish cutting the jungle around my house, in rental I need to paint the door, window frames, scrub that fridge and tub and sink, help friend replace sewer pipe that we have to cut tomorrow, fill in BIG hole we made digging to it, hang miniblinds, clean new carpet that was laid that's been walked on with dirty feet (grrr), patch stairs, paint stairs... then go to church on Sunday and drive to Dallas (what tornadoes?) for soccer game (watch, not play, phew!). It's 11:20pm, my friend just left to pick his daughter up from dance, so I promise I will start getting those pages scanned. First I should edit some of the menu prices so I can send that along with invoice to my friend, THEN I'll scan I promise! Can I let this ice sit still on my hip for just awhile longer first? Do I need to get up early tomorrow? Oh yes, I need to take my car in and then get my insurance changed, license plates changed, and driver's license. Then buy blades for saw, come back and start the above list (from "got job" to "start on Monday"). Maybe I'll even work a little on the '76 reunion book tonight too. I'm sorry John, what was your question?
In the time it took to write this Feedback you could have scanned 15 pages. Maybe someone else in the class of 76 has a little more time. Thanks anyway....
