Message: First for the record, my sister is too kind! But that's not why I'm writing in. Hey John you DO know that I love you more right? THAT's why I had to write in. And wasn't it Droop A Long Cassidy as Richochet Rabbit's sidekick? Or am I just thinking of Hop A Long? Or is that why they called him Droop A Long Cassidy? Or did either even HAVE a last name? Yes Hop A Long was definitely Cassidy... right? Am I just asking too many questions? Dang that caffeine. PS: **I** still love you more though just so you know. (Hi Vicki!)

Message: /Sorry guys, I was wrong. My husband only lettered in basketball. He played all four years and was the captain of the J>V team and the Varsity team. Sure would like your help in putting this surprise together for him. Actually it is my youngest son's idea and we have looked through all of our old yearbooks and haven't found any good pictures of a letterman's jacket. I have a friend that can make it up for me but just need to know the specifics of what they had put on them back then. Thanks again

Message: Hey, I was just wondering if anyone out there has a picture of a Letterman's Jacket from the class of 1972. My husband graduated that year and wasn't able to get a Letterman's jacket. He played football and Basketball all 4 years. I am planning a surprise for his birthday in April and would like to get a jacket custom made for him with his letter the year of graduation and I would also like to try to get whatever patches they issued during that year for those sports. I am trying to make it look as "old school" as possible. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks alot

Get your pics in soon 'cause you'll regret not being part of the memory book, even if you're not planning on going send in your pics and order a book. My reunion books suck in comparison. I'm also excited to go as her 'date'. We're planning on attending all 3 events. I'm going to get friends from class of '77 and '78 to attend the extra activities and hope more from other classes plan on attending too! Good times fer sure! p.s. I love you John

Message: Winky Dink was a show that I remember that marketed a kit with a plastic sheet and wipe-off crayons. You put the sheet over the tv screen and random figures would come up on the tv and you copy them with the wipe-off crayons. When finished, there would be a full scene....then I think the cartoon character interacted with the scene that was only on your plastic sheet....could have this confused with some other shows - they all start to blend together sometimes. Does anyone else remember Ramar of the Jungle on TV. I remember that one time a soda pop distributor had a promotion where you'd send in a coupon found on a hang tag on a 6-pack of pop and get a pith helmet. I was very disappointed when it arrived to find it was only made from plastic.

Message: Winky Dink! It was Winky Dink who had you draw on the TV screen to help him out of a jam. You had to get the magic plastic cover that went over the TV screen first... we never had one but when I read Jerry's post I immediately
started singing the Winky Dink and You theme song...
Joe, Keith, I have been trying to come up with a clever response for days but - I am speechless!!! Cindy thank you for the plug for the reunion; it's going to be great, we are going to get invitations in the mail in about a week.
Email me if you aren't on my list- if you have received email updates from me, you are covered.

Message: That would be "Winky Dink" and you had to buy the "Magic Screen" to place on your TV screen to draw on with your "Magic Crayons". You were able to draw directly onto your TV screen without the "Magic Screen" but usually caught hell for doing it that way. I think you were able to do the same with "Tom Terrific" also. What was the name of his dog?

Message: It was Winky Dink and You, Winky Dink and Me... Always have a lot of fun together! No smart remarks John... I know what you're thinking! That's the kids show where you put the plastic over the TV screen to help out Winky Dink - the one that Jerry asked about. No, really... it was a real show! Somebody back me up quick! I always wanted to send away for the plastic kit but we were never allowed to. So we never got to help out Winky Dink. So we'd watch Dark Shadows instead or Ting Ting TING Richochet Rabbit! I liked Underdog best though. There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!

Message: Hobo Kelly? Was she a "hot babe" under that makeup? A Romper Room contender? Those big "magic glasses" worried me sometimes, what with being able to see all the kids out there and all. I would have thought she would have slipped that "Mr leprechaun" a T.J. grade M-80. What was the kids show where you would draw stuff on the screen to help out? They should have gone over "you put the plastic thing over the screen first" a little more, at least that was my excuse.

The suit is long gone but those great varnished suit hangers have a half/life of several thousand years and mine still lives. Message: Ok John......Since you are talking about loving moments from the past.......Please help me remember something. While I was cleaning out drawers at Mom's home, I came across a scrap book of mine, dating back to Eighth grade.
Now it seems you wrote a cute little note, BUT next to your signature I have a lock of YOUR HAIR!!!! Now pray tell, how in the world did I get a lock of your hair?????????
Larry and I had a good laugh just thinking of me running after you to cut a lock of your hair!!!!!!! I know that was along time ago, we were just 13 or 14, but maybe you will recall that day.......Have a good week...Love ya

Message: Okay not sure if this has been done but probably so. But at least it doesn't involve me. The Zachery All post made me think of this. What were your favorite or most memorable commercials and pitchmen or thing. I sometimes mention the Frito Bandito to people and they know nothing of what I am talking about. But I remember collecting those erasers they put inside the bags of Fritos or in the box of the multi bags of the Frito Bandito and putting them on my pencils. And Yogi Bear pitching Not to Smoke was big. My dad told me it was that commercial made him quit. He smoked for 40 years those Camels. But he quit around when I was a Freshman or so.

Message: I can't resist adding this even as non-Hawthorne related as it is. I think of it every time I see "Night Stalker." There was an ad in our local paper here in the help wanted section. It was a for a supermarket. It said "night stalker wanted." They meant of course "night stocker." I wished I had cut it out and kept it! Here's a Hawthorne related item though. I've noticed some class of '76 posters here who aren't on the list of found alumni. Even if you aren't planning on attending the reunion, at least get your current information in so you can be included in the memory book! And if you aren't receiving emails or letters about what's going on, email someone on the committee to be put on the distribution list. Go to the reunions page for contact info. AND if you haven't sent in your current pics and bio, the sooner the better so we can get the book organized. Thanks!

Message: John, I hate to violate the sanctity of this site for the second time in a week, but I thought you and your fellow immortals here might like to know that Eddie Nalbandian has passed away. If you don't recognize the name, that's Eddie of Zachary All, "5-4-6-7 Wilshire Boulevard, repeat, 5-4-6-7 Wilshire Boulevard," here in the inner city, certainly one of the city's most famous faces for those of a certain lifestage. If you didn't hear the news, that's in part because our local inner city fishwrap the LA Times didn't even run the usual obit; no, a PAID obit was inserted by the family into the Times early last week. (Maybe they thought it was, uh, "fitting" that the tailor/pitchman insert one last ad, even in death?) Eddie stocked portlies and portly longs and portly extra longs, as you may recall, the kind of clothes that may come in handy at the certain lifestage previously mentioned. Anyway I LOVE YOU MAANN and I'm sure a few of your readers will recall Eddie fondly and with all due respect.
