Hey Laura, first of all glad the page isn't dead as you're the first feedback of the day. I know which "motels" you're referring to. We've come along way, for sure.

Message: In the 70's on Friday Nights at 11:30 there was "In Concert" on channel 7. It was simocasted on Rockin Stereo 95 1/2 KLOS. Most of the shows were taped on Tuesday's at the Santa Monica Civic. There was a group of us who went down to see the Eagles, Poco, and CSNY one afternoon. They only showed 90 minutes, on Friday night, but this show lasted almost 4 hours in filming and each band played 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The groups played rapid fired, and then selected the best 4 or 5 songs from each band to show. I saw the Allman Bros by themselves and they played 3 hours non stop. Incredible Jam sessions in each song. Rory Galleghar was another guitarist who Jammed for a long time. He played on the same bill with SLAYED, and Rod. Great Music and a fantastic place to see a live show. Tickets were 6 to 10 bucks.
Hey Wade, STILL need info on your Golf Tournament. Thanks

Message: Rock Concert, now there was an idea. Bring stereo radio and TV together. Allrighty now!!! First place that music in the 70's ever sounded so good. Doobie's, Simon and Gar, Cat (The Rat) Stephens, Jim Croce, John Denver, disco whatever. Man that made home stereo. You are "right on" Mr. John.
One more dance, rock show, called Al Jarvis Hi-Jinks. Mid 50's or so. Jude and a guy named Billy Ward took third place doing a dance to a record called The Pachuco Hop. That's before racism, I guess. I still have the 45 RPM of that tune, done by Big Bill Higgins or something like that. Nothing but sax and sound. The other thing is, Jan Peterson, you mentioned you had your first french kiss at Sandy Dietchs house. She used to live next door to us in a 4 plex and baby sat our daughter. I won't embarrass you. I would like to know if you've heard from Sandy and Phil Lombardi, Chet Raspberry, Ward Heckman in the past few years. We last saw those kids, as we call them, in 1974 after Sandy and Phils house warming and they got their place in Long Beach. Just curious. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU. Jake n Jude.
Good stuff there Jake. It seemed like Rock Concert came on late here, and I always had to give it up early so I could get up in the morning.

Although his replys were often "Your a bubblegumer, Hitchcock"! or "Dont talk about it Hitchcock, Do it"! Only it was pronounced more like "DDDooo, itttt". A motto I think he also lived by.

Message: It is late Thursday, 11:30 pm-Needless to say when I discuss Mr. Fix it is always with high esteem & delight! So to address the CougarTown Alumni with these words raises my emotions. I have emailed Mr. Danny Fix?s daughter Seagem McNamara in Hawaii, concerning his recent Stroke in January. Danny moved to Hawaii over 2 years ago. Seagem is busy with a three child family, so she did not go into a lot of detail; but in a ?cocoa nut shell? here is what she wrote? -He is hanging in there. Mentally he is not good. Physically he is stronger than ever. He is being a ?LIL Devil? for those nurses. He loves the ladies but, is fighting to get out of the nursing home. He doesn?t comprehend what has happened to him and needs time to hopefully recover. The doctors only give him a slight chance of recovery.-(end) At Christmas I received a card with his breif mention of a blood clot that the Dr.?s wanted to ?cut? ,because he needs his legs to ride the chopper, so He would not let them, and said with prayer everything worked out. On December 4th 05, the ?Lil?Devil? Fix rode point on his 99? Harley at the head of a 4000 Biker rally for the Toys for Tots Parade. He is still active with drama, being one of the elite few S.A.G.members to work as an extra on LOST. So look for him as one of the OTHERS. There are some of you who know how important Mr. Fix was to us as a teacher and fewer of you who had the pleasure to get to know Danny the Lil?Devil as a good friend. I will continue to e-mail Seagem & will send out a request to all who know Danny Fix-*If you will please, send me your e-mails, I will pass them along to her to give to him. If you wish to Mail a Real hand written note I strongly urge you to do so?Danny Fix -988 KALAPAKI St. HONOLULU Ha. 96825- He will covet your prayers at least??.And I will keep you'all informed
Thanks so Much & as the Man says "Ride till ya Die!"

I am sure everyone remembers "National Lampoon's Vacation." Remember when Clark's daughter Audrey was talking to her cousin (Eddie's daughter)? The dialog went something like this:
Eddie's Daughter: "I French kiss." Audrey: "So? Everyone does." Eddie's Daughter: "Yeah, but my Dad says I'm the best!"
Yeah Randy Quaid was the best thing to happen to the Vacation movies, in my humble O....Thanks Armand

Message: John, mon premier baiser de Français came immediately previous to many other firsts. It was in New York City in the middle of winter and it was long long overdue, unbelievably so. Even now the sell-by date has not elapsed---it remains creme fraiche forever. It lasted the entire weekend but in truth it was not merely for a weekend, it has endured easily for thirty years. Of course I'm not counting any of the furtive ones I stole in high school whilst passing myself off as some guy named Dennis.
Hey joseph, well if your first frenchy lasted the whole weekend, you must have had a couple, since then, that lasted at least a month. MAAAANN you ARE a giver. I was just thinking about you last night and wondering if I should search through the forest of blogs to see what's going on in the inner-city. Please make a note that our next Cruise Night will be March 25th at Fosters if you can drag yourself away from Los Feliz and bring the lovely Lily too. Sorry, no boat drinks, just Malts. Thanks joseph, it's always nice when you add to Feedback.

Message: The term "Boss" came from the Dutch language spoken during the 1600's. The "Baas" was a term used for an overseer of apprentices in the trade guilds: a master craftsman for example. The term was exported to New Amsterdam by the Dutch settlers and used as an informal title for anyone in a position of authority (the Dutch settlers had an attitude about fancy titles and nobility). After the English Royal management made a hostile takeover of Manhattan from the Dutch West India Company in the late 1650's and renamed the place New York, the slang term "Boss" remained part of the local NYC vernacular and later, part of American English. Was that the question? It's been a long day... Oh, I forgot to add something to that other topic: After learning all about "French" kissing in High School, and after joining the Army as a private at nineteen, I started dating a soldier-girlfriend-Corporal who taught me all about Colonel Angus. She outranked me so I had to follow her orders of course. An aside: years later, when my daughter was six, she asked me what a "French" kiss was. I believed she must have had a good idea already and was trying to get a reaction from dad. So I grabbed her shoulders and drew close as if to demonstrate, whereupon her eyes became as big as baby moon hub caps and her expression changed from coyness to one of alarm. I kissed her on both cheeks and said in a terrible French accent: "Ah-huh-huh-huh, zees eez ze Frrrench kiss, huh, huh!" After that, my daughter was more circumspect about asking questions she already knew the answer to.
Larry, We're talking BOSS, like "He has a REAL BOSS Corvette. But you knew that huh....

Message: I had a incident yesterday(actually 2). One..at my age of 43 it's sure getting harder to ride a skateboard nowadays!(maybe because I'm 100bls heavier?) I bought one for me and my daughter last year and it was fun. This year is alil differ. COLD and I'm out of shape! I had a nice wipeout that had my body screaming at me(you stupid dummy...be more careful!) I remember my buddy and I would go skateboarding to alot of places but never doing stupid stunts. The wounds we would get from not having protected gears would often have us showing who had a bigger boo boo! But skateboarding is fun though. Had lots of memories! I'm glad they are making a comeback(at least here in OR). Got a nice few Skateboard parks added near here too. I was fun skateboarding to school and never had to be told "It's not allowed in class" and it fit nicely in the locker. The other incident was here, these 2 elementary kids where trying to sell things for their class. That brought back the "Jog-A-Thon" memories. When Prop 13 passed HHS sports had to scramble extra cash so Couch Courtney started jogathon. The idea was to collect .25 cents to a $1.00 and even $5 or $10 a lap for every lap you did. Well, we had this one long distance runner (Greg Vinning) doing about 10 miles and just about broke every sponsor piggy bank. He did fail to inform the would be payer he was a distance runner. The next's year jogathon was modified to where after 20 laps was ran that was all you had to pay out. It was fun in Track. I remember on Rainy days if you stood on the corner of Inglewood Ave and El Segundo...it tends to flood there and cars would just tidal wave u if you happen to be on that corner(seems girls got drench more often than not).

Message: Cliff, So is that where the term "so boss" originated from? I prefer that term over "so bitchen" anyway. Besides, guys always sounded better saying "Bitchen" than the girls did.....(IMHO).
As kids growing up in the 60's in the L.A. area and it's surrounding communities, I think we were heavily influenced by "93 KHJ Boss Radio". It was the era when Casey Kasem debuted the "American Top 40" which lasted I think nearly 25 years, didn't it? 93 KHJ offered us escape, entertainment and information.
I just loved those "BOSS JOCKS"!!!!!

Hey John, I was catching some grins while catching up on the Feedback. Remember when You and I and Ron Kessler tried to get into a three man over-the-line tournament where your ages had to add up to over 100? Well guess what? We're only four years away from the 200 year division. My First Frenchey? Sharon Batchelder 1955, some things you just never forget! (At least you hope you never do)
Come on Cruise Night, M.S.
That was about 1979 as I recall. Mid 30s and IN SHAPE. Thanks for the memory, Mikey....
