And I remember Wrigley Field but can't recall the name of the other Field. Got the answers? My mind has started to turn to mush!...Also, I find it hard to believe that someone's mom would name her child, "Pinkie"! Maybe "Sue" but not "Pinkie"! Yes, the Angels played in Wrigley Field and the Stars played at Gilmore Field.

I remember my older brother was on the same team (prophetically named the "Dodgers" since they were still in Brooklyn) in 1957 as Gary Mykkanen. When it was Gary's turn to hit all the parents would anticipate another home run from him and would liken him to the greatest player of that time in LA.
I can still hear them saying: "Here comes Steve Bilko!".
Hey Danny, My dad and I were Hollywood Stars fans, so Big Steve meant nothing to us.

It is my longest running freindship that I still regualrly stay in touch with. Little League was deiniftely one of my favorite times of life. I remember dreaming that Marsha Brady would come to my game. She was my pre-teen heart throb. The funny thing is in 1989 or so I got to work with her at the LA Special Olympics. It was really neat. So I tell her how much she was my dream girl when I was younger. She laughed and we had some good talking time. Then she grabs my hand and says she wants to introduce me to someone. I thought it was going to be her mom and/or dad. Well she di that too. But it was her husband she wanted me to meet. She told them all my story about her. I was so embarrased. But oh well it was a fantasy. Another wass Ellie May Clampett. When I got to work with her I was busy doing something and she watched my daughter for me while I worked. She was about 4 or 5. I always tell her how Ellie May was her babysitter.

Message: I remember back when I was 8 or 10 helping my dad and others pour the concrete for the stands at the south field and building the snack shack at the Wiseburn baseball fields. My initials were there back then. They used to have a little trailer where they had food and snacks until they built the snack shack. The Stone family got to chalk the lines at the fields before the games and setup the fences. I liked helping them do that sometimes. Little League was so fun back then. You got free candy for getting foul balls and bringing them back to the scorers booth. Winner Suckers were always a favorite and Pixi Sticks. Mr. Leroy Frye would always be in his seat at the back of the snack shack so he could watch both fields at once. Alot of fun back then.
I thoroughly enjoyed Little League too. Made lots of friends that carried through high school and beyond. My grandson is 8 and this is his 3rd or 4th year. Finally moving up from T-ball. He loves baseball as much as I do.

The last girlfriend I had before moving to Hawaii (1989) was a girl named Janice Orbinson. She was really pretty and if I remember right I thought she said she went to Leuzinger. For some reason that is what I remember. The reason Heartbreak Hotel jogged this memory is because Elvis sang that song and she knew Elvis really well. Elvis always siad her dad was one of his biggest inspirations. And Elvis had written a song to Janice for one of her birthdays. He wrote it one a piece of regualr lined paper that she still had and showed me. It was kind of neat. I was just wondering if anyone out there knew of her and if she went to Leuzinger.
