Message: JB, please post this ASAP! We need all the help we can get for the family. I ask any and all Cougars to PLEASE help out. I personally THANK YOU!!!
To all Steve?s Friends. I wasn?t able to be with Steve when he passed but I arrived shortly after. I was able to see Steve and say goodbye and talk with the family. It came to my attention that they found out Steve didn?t have the proper life insurance and that they would have to pay for the funeral which was unexpected news to them. I think that it would be a good idea to pull together and help his family out. There are a lot of us friends out there and we can ?pass the hat? and help give Steve the burial he deserves. Maybe in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the family. If you would like to give a donation there are two ways to do it. You can pay through PayPal. Go to www.paypal.com and send money to stevedimmickfund@yahoo.com this will put money right into an account. Or you can send a donation to Vanessa Soto and mail to The Steve Dimmick Fund c/o The Soto Family 26226 Zephyr Ave. Harbor City, CA 90710. There is a lot of love on his website, lets take our support just one more step and help out our friend. If you have any questions, please go to the web site...Thanks again.

Message: John, Just wanted you to know that I just got two email messages from two childhood friends (since we were 5 years old) on the same day.
We all lived on Ramona Ave. as children and I would have been really upset if I lost contact with them. Somehow, they both lost my email address when I changed it.
But, because I gave my new address to you, and you posted it, they went to the HHS website (not knowing that the other one did the same thing).
Pat (Kavanaugh) Bagby was one of them and she went to HHS. My other friend moved away before we went to high school, but she knew about the website.
Thanks for being instrumental in getting us in touch with each other.
One doesn't come by these kinds of friendships easily, so, thanks, again. It means a lot to me.
Lee Ann
Hi Lee Ann, Great story, and always glad to hear "getting back together" stories. All the more reason for everyone to keep their email addresses current. The new Alumni List system, coming in a week or so will allow you to pick one email address at a time so it will be VERY secure.

I purchased the 2005 Norton Anti Virus in August ($54.11 after taxes with $20.00 mail in rebate from Best Buy). When you enter site that is at risk for viruses a window will appear on your desktop and tells you that a virus has tried to attack your computer, but it was deleted or repaired. Just click on the OK button and continue cruising the internet , bug free. For my money this is the best bet because it doesn?t let anything through.

Message: I've gotten several email from cougars asking what they should do regarding virus protection. My suggestion is that you go purchase a good antivirus protection program. Two that I recommend are Norton (by Symantec) or McAfee. In the meantime there is something you can do right now to find out if your machine is infected:
Since I'm most familiar with Norton Products I would advise you to first go to the Symantec website.
At the bottom left hand side of the page is a section called Downloads.
Click on the link that says Symantec Security Check
Then click the OK button.
You will want to run the Virus Protection Scan first. This will at least tell you if you have anything on your machine.
This site is not intended to serve as a virus protection software program but it will let you know if your computer system is infected and provide information on how to get rid of your virus' (it will also invite you to purchase a Norton Product which will keep you protected. I highly recommend that you do so.
Feel free to contact me should you need further assistance!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Griffin

PS: For the record Cougars. Unless you write to ct_helpdesk@yahoo.com you will not get receive a message from that address. I've had several "spoofs" using ct_helpdesk@yahoo.com as the sender. I'm not sending out email. Whoever has the virus, has ct_helpdesk@yahoo.com in their address book. So that might narrow down our search for the infected system. I suspect it is several of you though, so please use the Symantec site to scan your system for problems. Since you are scanning from their website, those little virus critters cannot hide.
Yep, I got an infected email yesterday that was addressed FROM: jbi@cougartown.com - TO: jb1@cougartown.com. The email addresses in the box above are non-Cougartown Alumni List addresses. Lots of people might have my email address in their address book, but probably only one person would have any of the addresses listed in the box. Message: Somebody in Cougartown has a Computer Virus that's been going on for a couple of weeks. Just because your computer isn't doing weird things doesn't mean it's not sick. Spoofing viruses will just do their thing in the background and you won't know it. By now everyone should have run their virus software. Also, if you have virus software on your computer but it hasn't been updated in a month, it is WORTHLESS.....have it updated. If you don't know how contact Kathleen Griffin at CT_Helpdesk at yahoo.com. Please take the time to check the email addresses in the above box and if you have a couple of them in your address book, you are probably the one. This is frustrating, as people are threatening to take their email addresses down from the alumni list and it's not fair to them, as that won't do a bit of good. The virus didn't come from that list. PLEASE Check For Viruses Today. Thanks Cougs.... On another note: Whoever sent me the pictures of the 57 Dodge Pickup, I got the pictures but must've dumped the email. Anyway, VERY NICE RIDE!!

What a joke after he left the scene, so sad! Mark and I grew up together and were close friends for 14 years until I joined the military after HHS and we kind of lost touch.
