Let's see what FAMOUS people we can get to wear the t-shirt. Liz could have gotten Aretha to throw it on if she got backstage..... I would even settle for people on the street. Ya gotta get a picture and send it to John. Sound good? Might take a few months.....Hey, I am up for it.
Hey Mike (Mackey) I forwarded your email to Paul. He has his kids acting on many TV shows lately. Both his little ones were on Bernie Mack. They got the bug.....Say hey to Craig for me.

However the best joy of all for us Grand Masters of the surfing world is two thirds of the weekday morning crowds are gone. Giving us ample room to enjoy those 4-6' plus sets like today without practically anyone dropping in on us or having to dodge a mass of people in the impact zone. Life is good!!! Happy Birthday Marsha & Don.

Message: For those following the Beach Boys progress from adolescence to the present trucated form, there is a great summary of their trials, tribulations and music in the Sept edition of AMERICAN HERITAGE magazine. I've read the books seen the movies, listened to the music -- this 6-page article covers all the bases and expresses optimism for Brian's continued efforts. -- Alas, I too regret missing Cruise Nite. Had the Hudson Hornet all waxed. Gleaming chrome-reverse-Astro-mags; neon lighted wheel-wells; chopped and channeled; vibrasonic 4-track cranked to max; scarlet flames on 29 coats of candy-apple red lacquer. "Lone Wolf -- No Club" license plate in the rear window. Totally Boss-a-Nova! But in a economic move that proved to be my undoing I replaced the flat-head engine with a Singer Sewing Machine 1/4 H.P. motor. The car zig-zags down the road now, and as I came to Mt. Shasta I ran out of orange-extension-cord and had to turn back. Back to the proverbial drawing board.
Always loved the Hudson Hornet. Hudson spearheaded the electric curb feelers in the late 40s, you know. What a God awful "fingernails on the blackboard" screech that was. Thanks Jim for the info on the Beach Boys. I think you'll find the same article at the website, www.americanheritage.com

Message: I haven't checked in for quite a while, glad to know you're all still kicking! I just wanted to let all the art students from the 70's know that I was in Provo, Utah in August (for my oldest son and daughter-in-law's college graduation) and I looked up Clayton Williams and spoke with him on the phone. He's having a great time up there painting and keeping himself busy. We had a great phone conversation and we agreed next time I'm up there we'll get together. He has great memories and stories about many of you! Have a great weekend and Happy Autumnal Equinox on the 22nd!
Hi Dawn, Glad you're still with us and nice to know about Mr. Williams. Thanks for the feedback and is Summer gone already?

Message: Last night my sister Sharon and I drove up to the 75 year-old Greek Theater to see the legendary Aretha Franklin. It was an honor to be in the presence of the Queen of Soul. Her voice was suffering in the damp LA air but she's still one of the greats. I bought one of her first LPs on CD and we sang all the way home. One of the original Temptations stood in with her on a couple of songs...it was very cool. I kept my eyes peeled for a Cougar sighting but no Tshirts were seen. Have a great weekend Cougs! Big kisses to the 133rd Street Gang! DZ
Sounds like a great concert Liz, thanks....

Message: Picture of Jake N Jude, Christmas Dance 1959, page 37 1960 El Molino. Right next to a famous guy who made some great songs for the world to enjoy. And the other guy, next to B. Wilson, I taught all he knew about sports, I believe was a K. Lent, which I believe their picture was at the backwards dance that school year. The lovely ladies I can't remember their names as I would probably be smacked for having such a good memory for things such as that. Of course you can't see the others, because you haven't posted their picture yet :-) . JJ and I look Mahvolous. :-)) And yes Mr. Baker we are entertaining the thought of being there for the game. Looking for lodging when permitted. Would welcome response at your leisure. Left phone message a week ago but got no response. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU. Jake N Jude.
That's why I couldn't find it, I was looking in the Prom pics. Thanks Jake, and yes, fly on out for Homecoming. I'll find you a place to land.

Message: Before Dr. Phil became a star, we used him as a jury consultant. I always thought that part of Hawthorne south of Imperial, north of 120th, west of Ingelwood and east of the 405 was a little strange (we avoided it on Halloween). Maybe it was because of the 105 Fwy demolition -- that area seemed haunted.

In '48 we moved to 4936 West 118th st. between the Gutierrez'on the East and the Winkleys on the West. The Trotts lived directly across the steet on the corner where Sundale meets 118th. and Judy DeGrazia(sp) across the street on Sundale. Bob Fox lived west in the next block. Felton Market was just around the corner south. OS 6-9852 was our number. Thanks John, for that simple reminder of those days, the telephone.

Cougar siting... ran into Faelin Klein at a seminar in Chico last night. Chico is about 25 miles from where I live now in Oroville. Faelin and I saw each other in a Chico parking lot a few years ago, first time since Hawthorne... we both did a double take then, but immediately recognized each other. It was nice to see her again last night.
