Message: Hi it's me Pat Underwood again just to let you know I'm not trying to invade your site. I did go to Lawndale High School and graduated in 1963. I do have ties to Hawthorne though as my best friend was John Mascarena (HHS class of 1962) another friend was Lance Scott (HHS class of 1964). I even married a girl from Hawthorne High, Cheryl Ann Cordy (HHS class of 1966). What got me looking at Cougartown was three years ago when my daughter entered her freshman year at Hawthorne High. There is even a woman working in the office at Hawthorne that I went to school with at Lawndale and her name slips my mind. Somebody slap me quick and bring me back to reality. LOL. I have met so many nice people here and even classmates of my brothers from Ramona. She calls herself "The Queen of Cougartown" Hi Liz Estrada. Thank you John for allowing me to rekindle old memories. Pat Underwood LHS 1963
Hey Pat, don't worry about invading this site. Many people from lots of schools in the So Bay use Cougartown and they are all welcomed to leave Feedback here. We all went to the same elementary schools together and we all cruised the same streets and hung out at the same places. Anyone out there who thinks they aren't welcome here because they went to another school is mistaken. Everyone's an honorary Cougar here.

Message: Hi fellow Cougars. I also received something about another Hawthorne High website and though it might be another way of tracking more classmates it would have to go some to beat this. I found out about Cougartown when I participated in our local festival. The artist in the booth next to mine starting talking with me and somehow we got on the topic of highschool, well, low and behold I was talking to Jean Sullivan (class of 1962). Small world. What are the odds that two Cougars would end up in the little town of Brisbane? Thank you so much for such a wonderful website. I'm helplessly hooked.
Aw gee, Karen, thanks for the nice thoughts. Actually I've been getting lots of complimentary email since this Ron Davis guy has sent out his email on the new Hawthorne High website. I'm sure he mined our email list for the addresses. Anyway, we're not going anywhere.
On the Jean Sullivan note, it's STILL a small Cougar world out there. Thanks for the story, Karen....

Message: Alright you guys, I'm here in my mountain cabin, ask John how I ended up
here?! He abandoned me!!! I certainly remember Pat Simpson, and Stephanie to mention only a few, but I'm hearing some stories I've never heard before like walking in drain ditches, etc. This website and the feedback portion are lots of fun... Y'all take care and if you're ever on your way to Tahoe or Kirkwood drop by and see us. Billye Renn (PS I dropped
the "Ann" in kindergarten).
Hi Billye, Thanks for adding to the mix here. Now if we could just get John to add a few lines. If you're out there, John, step on up to the plate.

Message: I just received an e-mail from someone offering a new HHS website, Classreport.com. It's just my opinion, but why would we need it, since we already have the best high school website in existence, Cougartown. It purports to be free and run on contributions; of this I am wary. Having paid for ClassMates and having seen what a poor second class offering it is in comparison to Cougartown, the fact is that even when you pay you get banner ads, etc. My sincere belief is there's a catch somewhere. John spends a great deal of his time and energy on Cougartown, because it is a labor of love. We won't get that anywhere else. I say let's not dilute this special thing we have here. Scarlet and gold... be true to your school.
Thanks Glenn, you are a true blue Ctowner.
I think Classreport.com is someones idea to make a BETTER Classmates.com and if it gets going, maybe we can find even MORE Cougs through them. I'm sure it's not intended to run Cougartown off the web

Message: Hi John, Thought it was time to get on my cougar and ride to my computer & drop you a line. just to let you & all the other '60 grads that i'm still around and really appreciate you and your coug web site on behalf of all the cougars. It's great! My brother, Lyman moss, grad in '59 told me to get with it because you never know how many years we have left. I agreed with him and so here's a little something for starters. I had lunch with Richard and Mary sloan about a year ago and it was great to see them both looking really great! In fact, we sat there for a couple of hours and even through i hadn't been in their company for 40 yrs they both started looking younger as the minutes ticked on. I believe the longer we would have stayed, they both would of been 18 yrs old by time we left. It was great seeing them both again. I have to end this marathon of a letter but it won't be my last. Lester Moss Class of '60
Hi Les, Bob Fraser, from your class, asked me the other day where you lived. Now I can tell him.
Yes, Rich and Mary are just about as spry as the day they graduated. It seems they are the champs when it comes to reunions and keeping the HHSers from the early days together. Thanks for the letter and please add to this page anytime.

Ronnie Arias (George Harrison's brother in law) and Chris Montez, so I guess that could be where he got his guitar roots. Anyway, he has a guitar website that I'm sure lots of you guitar players would be interested in. Yet ANOTHER musical Cougar makes good.

Message: Stephanie!! The Plymounth!!!!! What John Renn is referring to (Drain-Canals)
Is Laguna Dominguez Channel. It was below Kornblum. It ran alongside Imperial Park. Down alongside 120th, under Crenshaw, then went South past Alondra Park. Where we get out and would go swimming in the Alondra pool. When it would rain, the channel would fill up to the top. There's not that many places to get out of it. As most of it was cement, until you got past Crenshaw. Back then it was dirt and rock all the way to San Pedros, East Basin. Back at the other end, it went under ground at 116th just below Doty.
For that part of it you well need to see the movie "THEM". Okay Billye Ann
whats this Mountain Sanctuary? We know you are out there fess-up. Why is it that none of the girls remember Linda, but all the guys do?
