Message: Big John B. I had a great time at Cruise Night even if the turnout was a little on the lite side. I got so thoroughly involved with catching up on old times with one of my dearest friends from the past, Barbara Curtin Walker, and I realized on the ride back home to Huntington, that I had not officially introduced myself to you and personally thanked you for this wonderful place of your creation, "Cougartown". It was also great seeing Bill Sloey after some 32 years and Ron Dickson, glad you were able to swing by for a bit. Now that my '67 elky knows she can make the trek from H.B. to Foster's without going into big-block meltdown, she and I can't wait to do it again. Again, thanks John. ( bye the way, does Barbara look "HOT" or what.) Best wishes to all!!
Hey Pat, Yes she does, but when I knew her she was wearing saggy diapers.
Man, you are the one I wanted to talk to. My bestest friend Mike Shay said he heard that 427 pull in the driveway and wanted me to ask you to fire it up once again. I always get side-tracked at these things. Next time Pat, and thanks for making the trek.

I am very sorry to hear all the problems that others have been giving you about the prom pictures and whatnot. I feel like i was there just by reading the different feedbacks from those who did attend, and that includes my 2 sisters. I grew up in hawthorne and this site gives me a chance to relive some of my childhood memories. So johh, please keep up the wonderful work on this site. Again thank you. Bobbie Spencer
Very kind words Bobbie, thank you......

Are you implying, Sir, that we....well.....ya know.....you could hurt a girls reputation....or is it too late for that? Nevermind, don't answer that question. I'll have you know that Bill returned home with his virtue intact. (But I'll bet he had sweet dreams.) You did, didn't you Bill?
Hey Liz, I don't know about Bill's sweet dreams, but I just talked to Dan Dye on the phone and he said his wife, Ann, LOVED the massage at Cruise Night.

Message: John, I have just read your last comments about Cougartown.com and feel the need to let you know, and remind others, that what you have done to bring people together is so much more important than some of the trivia that seems to be appearing on your great web site. It's time to call all of the people into the office and talk about what is really important. This web site has brought me into contact with so many wonderful people from all of the years at Hawthorne High School. Last Saturday night we entertained graduates from the class of 1962 and had a wonderful time remembering the good times at Hawthorne High School. The last few years have been filled with contacts from HHS graduates. None of this would have happened without Cougartown.com. I have always admired your responses to Feedback, and can only hope that you can and will continue to provide a wonderful service for which anyone one of us should be proud. Thank you,John. Thank you.
Thanks Bob, Coming from a fine HHS Teacher/Mentor as yourself seems to place this all in the proper perspective. This place is not AT ALL about ANYTHING but good old Hawthorne and HHS. Most of the rest means nothing. Thanks for your comments and now why wasn't Janet and I invited to a class of 1962 function? WE LOVE YOU MAAAANN!!!

Message: John, I don't know what's going on and I don't really care. All I do know is you have brought hours of enjoyment and happiness to hundreds of fellow Cougars. I think it is pretty tacky of people to send e-mail airing "dirty laundry." If they had a problem with you, they should have discussed it with you without bringing everyone into it. Cougartown is a place we all go for diversion. If we want fighting, we only have to turn on the TV! You have never been anything but a gentlemen the several times we helped put on an event. We are all so much in your debt for all the hours you put in. I know it's going to be hard, but please don't let the opinion of two people destroy all the good feelings you have created over the years. Steve and I are forever in your debt for reuniting us with such good friends as Mike Backus and helping track down people I hadn't heard from in years like John Biller, the Treckmans, and the Biermans just to name a few. Hopefully this will pass and CT can get back to normal.
Respectfully Yours, Kathy Stonebraker

Thanks for the kind words, Kathy. Hopefully this WILL pass.

Message: I'm so sorry. This whole thing has been ugly, John. We don't know the details. All we know is good people have been hurt by whatever it was that got messed up. It's between you and Jan and Judy. AT this point, I don't give a damn about the Memory Book or the pictures. We had a great time, the prom was a blast, they did a great job and it's over. These things happen and it's so very unfortunate that it had to come to a complete breakdown of what was a freindship. I hope you can overcome your anger and come back to enjoying Cougartown again. Don't forget that for the other few thousand of us, whose lives you have changed, well, we're all still here. God Bless. Elizabeth

Message: I've been receiving emails from different sources about the pictures I put up. Some liked them, some didn't. The following is an example of those that didn't:
John,
I am very dismayed at what is happening between you and Judy on CT. I know it is your cite and you can do whatever you wish on CT, but I thought you were above being mean-spirited. To post such unflattering pictures of Judy was very cruel. I know Judy worked very hard on the Prom, and am sure that without her efforts it would not have turned out as fabulous as it was. I feel you owe her a public apology on CT.
As I said this is just my opinion, and you can do what you want, but it takes a big man to admit he made a mistake.
Here's hoping you are that man.
Thanks for listening. Sharon Moore Leach

Sorry you feel that way Sharon.
I'm sure you've received an email that's been floating around and really don't know the whole story.
This website is for everyones enjoyment. I too have WORKED VERY HARD to provide a place for all to meet AT MY EXPENSE. There is no monetary gain here. I have no nut to crack. There is no bottom line. I don't receive a big fat Cougartown paycheck on Friday. I simply start at 7am and go until 11pm every weekday, putting up not only Feedback, but adding your pictures, cruise night pictures, reunion pictures, senior pictures, hangout pictures, historic pictures, and lots of other pictures. I add alumni to their respective lists by hand (close to 5000 to date) and adding various and sundry other things to this website, not because I'm getting RICH, or even paid, but because I like to do it.......or at least I did.
Judy and Janny have taken all that FUN, and turned it upside down......
Judy and Janny are holding CT hostage and you call me mean spirited??!! I have to take ANOTHER 4 hours out of my schedule to drive to Timbukto to examine the Memory Book for flaws and I owe JUDY an apology??!! They won't turn over the Prom Pics that all the Prom goers paid for, and I'M THE BAD GUY HERE!!! I've been receiving email saying I shouldn't have put those pictures up and I probably shouldn't have, but no one knows what's been going on OTHERWISE, and I won't dirty the waters with the story!!
Bottomline: Chasing these Prom pictures is a waste of time.
I will not pursue the Prom pictures any further. Judy and Janny, send me the pictures whenever you feel like it. Right now I don't have the strength or the drive to put them up. You've taken all the fun out of this for me.
I will drive to Jostens and examine the book and IF the book is satisfactory to ME, then I'll write the check. If it isn't then I'LL CHANGE IT!!
The committee members will receive FREE Memory books FROM COUGARTOWN, not Janny and Judy.
They all got into the Prom for FREE, because of COUGARTOWN, not Janny and Judy. They all had a FREE Committee dinner at Arturos provided by COUGARTOWN, NOT JANNY AND JUDY.
Judy, sorry I put your picture on the website.
You've turned this whole situation ugly, and Cougartown is no longer a fun place to be.

Glad we came early to get a parking space and to visit with you before the rush. Lori Padelford had some great pictures to show. One of the pictures was of my first car, a 1939 Buick. Sue, Sharon, Mom B and Liz kept us occupied with lots of laughs. We all talked about our first Porno movie. No, we were not in one, the first one that we saw. Flesh Gordon! When Sharon and I mentioned Penisaurus Monsters I thought we would all die. Brother Bill and the girls took off about 9:30 to go dancing. My last words to them were ?Say no to drugs unless they are prescription?. Thanks girls for returning my brother home safe and sound. Can?t wait until the next event. So John, when is the next event?
Hi Bob, Glad you had a great time on Saturday. No next event is planned as of now.

Message: I remember a few weeks back when people were saying that HAwthorne High was mentioned on a TV program. Well, we were mentioned again, this time in the form of a trivia question. It was the halftime show on Fox Net 2 of the De La Salle/Poly game and Todd Donahoe asked which musician played football at Hawthorne High. Of course Brian Wilson was the answer but he lasted until the final two answers were left until some yahoo got it. Someone actually guessed Snoop Dogg! Anyways, just thought I'd share that.
Could the name of the dairy be "Rockview Dairy"? Don't know the name of the music store. Of course, that's just my opinion but I could be wrong.

Message: Sue, Sharon and Mom B are the best! I just love you women.......We made it to Cruise Night (after a few Margaritas at my place) We ate burgers and soft serve ice cream. Yummmy! And here's a news flash.......I kissed Dan Dye! His beautiful wife was more than happy to oblige me. In fact, if I had massaged her another fifteen minutes, she may have let me have him for the weekend. :) It was great to see Bill Sloey, Bob and Bill Jensen, Lori Padelford, Maureen Trott, and the leader of the pack, John Baker. Barbara Curtin Walker will be back next month so I'm planning another Girls Night out if any of you are up to it. We can make it a Slumber Party so the B's don't have to drive all the way back to the flatlands in the wee hours. It was a small turn out this time but that never seems to matter. When Cougars get together there's always a good time to be had. The B's and I kidnapped Brother Bill Jensen and took him with us to the Bull Pen for mas Margaritas and some good ol' rock 'n roll. Poor Bill, four women and only one man.......you did good, Bill. I need to say something else. There have been some rumors, and stories, and emails floating around about some troubles within the CT unit...... Just let it go. Pass it by. We are the Mighty Cougars and we will be the losers if we don't let it go. That's all folks. Hang tough, be safe and when in doubt, give someone a hug. I love you guys. Message: Hi everyone!! I just need to say THANK YOU to all of you who sent my little niece an envelope. She was collecting postmarks from the different states and received a bunch from fellow Cougars!! She was delighted and I want to thank you all for the effort you took, even during a really hard week.
Second, I need to ask for your prayers (to the diety of your choice) and good vibes for my very dear friend, SGT. Lisa Allen. Lisa's Army Reserve Unit was deployed 10 days ago....to Egypt. Needless to say, I am very nervous for her safety and welfare. So, any good stuff you all could put out into the universe for her, I would sincerely appreciate.
Lisa called me, from Egypt, Friday night, she is on an AirForce base and feels very safe. I told her not to leave the base, even though she wants to go do some bazzar shopping.
She is inspecting the food for the military when the planes come in and after the dogs sweep the planes. she also takes care of the Air Force bomb dogs. She says the dogs work 12 hour shifts and when they come back to the kennels, she give them a once over, feeds them, and puts them to bed. They sleep so deeply that they don't even notice her in the kennels. Lisa was supposed to come home next week....I haven't heard from her so I don't know if that is still happening, but I doubt it. I sure she will have much to tell me when she finally does make it home and I will share it with you.

Why did Lisa wait to go bazzar shopping in Egypt? I don't think there's a Fredericks of Cairo.
