Name: JIM SLOEY
E-Mail: sloeylaw@intplus.com
Class: 66
Message: JOHN BAKER We want a new question of the week! We get demanding huh? John on behalf of all the Cougars is there anything we can do to help, money, time assistance. This must be a full time job for you now! Don't be afraid to ask! This site belongs to all of us now and we hope you don't ever become overwhelmed because of it!
Litton- I am sorry to have "misled" you.
JIM SLOEY

Note: Jim, Yes, a new QOTW coming up. This one might be a little early for you and the mid-sixties Cougs though, but give it a shot. As far as the Money, Time, Assistance is concerned. We're doing OK right now. It seems when I ask for a certain something, someone "steps up to the plate". I still need a few more senior pics from yearbooks scanned. The class committee members are being considered....... OH I guess we could use a good lawyer. Know one?? :o)
Thanks Jim and thanks to all who've helped in one way or another. I appreciate all of you. And yes, the site DOES belong to all of you.

They must be out there somewhere but I've never seen any of their names pop up. I'm still looking for Judy Poore, Karen Larson, Barbara Klock, Jerri Wald or any other 60's people. Sharon Morris. Anyone!!!

E-Mail: farrell8@worldnet.att.net
Maiden: Valencia
Class: '61
Message: ?Maaaan! Who said that the Valencia's were hogging Cougartown? Seems to me that the Biermans are in a class of their own! I had never heard of the Green Phantom, but what a clever dude or dudette he/she must have been. Sounds like a movie script. The biggest thing that happened when I was at HHS was in 1960 when some guys (rumored to be Brian Wilson and friends) poured soap under the falls while riding on the Jungle boat ride at Disneyland. It was senior ditch day. We were told that the management at Disneyland would never let us return...but we sure did the following year.
Do any of you '55ers or '56ers remember Aggie Perez? I think that her nickname was Randy. She lived on Truro across the street from us.

Note: Ricki, I thought the 62ers thought of the soap suds thingy at Disneyland on Senior Ditch Day, but we put it in the Submarine pool from the overhead tram ride. If you add food coloring it makes them soap bubbles "reeeel purdy".

E-Mail: Bettsann@aol.com
Maiden: Watts
Class: 1976
Message: I suggest Ms. Bierman should write a book!! Immediately, just no photos. I have enough vivid memories on my own, although when I recently asked my mother what she remembers of our wild days, she claims "no comment". I'm sure she tried to forget years ago. Who remembers Mr. Churnside from Cabrillo school? Tall, he drove a black Mach I. Carol Mann & I were soccer captains, Albert Delgado always played with wingtips on, kicked me in the shins, I yelled "#$@^&!!!, Mr. Churnside made me stay after school for talking like a truck driver. My athletic career ended early needless to say. Luckily, I found baseball and became a serious spectator.

Message: JOHN BAKER - DO YOU REMEMBER THAT AT THE END OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR THE COUGAR NEWS WOULD BE PUT IN A PACKET WITH ALL ISSUES FOR SALE? I THINK I CAME ACROSS 1 OR 2 YEARS WORTH IN MY MOM'S GARAGE. WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO SEND THEM TO YOU? THEY APPEAR TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I MAY FIND. LET ME KNOW.
Note:Rose, This issue has come up before and if I can open the bound copies and lay them flat so I can scan them WITHOUT damaging the bindery, then yes, I can use them. If it will damage the "Cougars" or the bindery work, I really prefer single copies. I know it sounds like I'm being picky here, but what it all comes down to is, "I don't want to mess up your stuff". Of course if I CAN lay them flat and scan them, then I'd love to use them. Thanks Rose and if you think I can scan them without damaging them, please send them to:

Message: OK, THE REPORT: (Stop squirming George) - Spent the better part of 4.5 hours with Patty (CTQ) and George (whom we've renamed King of CT) at El Torito somewhere in the Valley. It was such a laugh. We all pulled into the lot within 2 seconds of each other - Patty was walking into the restaurant and I called out the car window to her at the same time as a cycle cop was coming thru. (Sounds just like something from HS years). Needless to say, he stopped to check the commotion, and in true V-Girl fashion (god, I'm gonna need my own page here) he hung around to chat with us and at some point Patty had him pulling out his wallet to show us the family pics. (How'd you do that?? I'll bet you NEVER get a ticket!) George had joined us by then (looked a bit nervous - for good reason probably) and we stepped thru the doors to what was not a time warp at all. I thought ahead and brought my 74 yearbook to show them what THEY wrote to me. (PV you owe me). George took us cover to cover and anything you want to know about anybody (or any event) from HHS, he's your man. Though he is conveniently amnesiac at times (to protect the innocent AND the guilty) he will be known as CT Central. Patty, you now share class rep responsibilities with GH. They have not aged a bit. They are still their wonderful, funny selves and I don't think there was a pause once. Thank you both for a great evening and I don't want to wait another 24 to see you both again. Am glad to hear so many Cougars are doing great. Have decided after reading old autographs and my sister's most recent email with Bettsann that we need a page to reprint WORD FOR WORD those inscriptions. To remember, to recollect, and in S and B's case, to decipher. I recommend last nite's adventure to you all!!!
Note: So Sue..... You've GOT to stop holding back and learn to let your feelings be known. :o) Thanks for the update. Great stuff.

Message: Don't worry, I'm not going to try to pull a V-Girl tactic by hogging all the bulletin board space...
I just got off the phone with Debbie Duvall Fitzgerald Murphy, Class of 69, who is not online, but is aware of CT and wondering if there has been any news/hint of a 30 year reunion in the works? So, being the good Cub Scout mom that I am (we found each other thru Cub Scouts out here in Thousand Oaks- Debbies little bro was a Cub Scout with my big bro back in the sixties!) I promised to post a query... anyone out there with info, please post on this bb or email me directly, and I'll call Debbie with the news!

Note: Sharon, When the 69 Reunion hits, I will post it. In the meantime, if you hear anything, please let ME know too. Thanks, John B

Maiden: Torgerson

Message: I can't believe that after all these years that nobody has slipped and told who the "Green Phantom" was. I found out by accident and was sworn to not tell. I never have in over twenty years and I don't think I could ever tell now. It was a great mystery and maybe some things should just be left alone. I sure do remember Mr. Featherstone cornering me and asking if I knew anything about it. He told me if I knew I was harboring a criminal. I was so scared but never told anyone, not even my best friend Teresa Deuel. I think she knows to but we never have discussed it to this day! And by the way John, you were really missed when you went on vacation!! And Susan B, you still crack me up. I love all your comments. The class of 1975 is going on a cruise in August 4, 2000 for our 25 reunion. It would be great for any alumni that wanted to attend to join us. Further details will follow as we get closer to the event!

Message: Oh Dear Sister Sue, that 1st vote was cast by me... I've always been your #1 fan! And I am pretty darn p.o.'d that ALL OF YOU know who it was and won't tell me. Oh well, I guess I've been holding out a few secrets of my own... (HA- GOTCHA!) Pam Betraun, if you talk to Leo LaSala's sis, tell her to tell Leo hello for me; and that when I lived in Corona a neighbor of mine was a contractor who ended up doing some work for us and he knew Leo through baseball... His name is Mark Sauer, he owns a biz called Sauer Construction, probably still in Corona. And by the way, he did beautiful work. Leo may be interested.
Thanks,
