Message: hahahahahahahaha! I went to the Phantom page to check out the "score" and found only 1 vote cast so far - and THAT was for the principal at the time!! Come on all you little voters - go to my earlier post to get the link to John's special voting booth and cast your ballot! His only rule was that you did not stuff the box though you may list more than one possible culprit! We never hinted that there was only one person - could have been a "gang". And I am sooooo looking forward to my little visit with Patty and George tomorrow nite - haven't seen either in years - we have tons to talk about tho George must be hiding stuff cuz he wanted to limit us to 10 mins each of questions.....I'll tell EVERYTHING right after I get home!! Stay tuned.....

Message: That Lighthouse menu is great - Shoe String Potatoes, wow, and Osborn phone numbers. I still remember ours was Osborne 6-4022 and the Inglewood prefix was Orchard. That menu reminds me of Jerry Bingham ('62), we would go to the Lighthouse and he would always order a Cherry "Fossface". It was 20 years before I knew what he was talking about...I'm still not sure. Message: The Green Phantom also gave me an autographed copy of the El Molino. Boy, oh, boy, what a sucker I was, I thought I was the only one who knew. How could I not know that Susan would know too?!! The 'perp' was a genius. It was done in the mode of Mission Impossible. Supplies were ordered from out of state to a p.o.box. It was pretty darned sophisticated. And yes, the perp did go on to a technical field. Whew, finally something I know that you know who doesn't.

Message: John, Maybe for Dick Dixon and for the people who might like to go to the spring fling, you could setup an online sign-up list in the reunions page. We may not know when or where it is, but we would know what and who! Dick would get an idea as to "how many".
Note: Chris, I think there was a meeting on this reunion last Thursday or Friday. When I hear from Dickie, I'll set up something like you suggested. Thanks

Message: To Sarah Hunter English: I went to school with your mom and dad. I haven't heard from or seen them in years. Are they on the net? Please have them log on and let us hear from them if they are. They were some of my favorite people in school. Your Dad lived right around the corner from me when we were at HHS. I'd love to hear from them. The last I knew they had moved to Simi. Did you grow up there?
Thanks for checking in and any info on Mike and Judy, we'd love to hear. Please say Hi to them and be sure to tell them about this website.

Message: OK, Green Phantom details - In my senior year (74) - actually, it may have started the year before - mysterious break-ins began to happen around campus. The interesting part was that locks or windows were not broken to access rooms or buildings......the calling card left by the midnight visitor(s) was large green painted footprints, in a walking pattern around the room, going up the wall, across the ceiling, etc. The most spectacular pattern was the one mentioned, in Nyman Hall. Admin was completely stumped as to the method of entry and escape and the materials/tools used to create the "signature". It was wild and the talk of the school. The place was abuzz with hints of who the perpetrators could possibly be. It was really and truly harmless pranks and funny, funny, funny. I thought the list of possible suspects in a prior post was quite amusing. I think it might be a good idea for other HHS'ers to post their guesses.....you earlier Cougars would have been proud of the high quality of the trick. I often wondered if the Phantom ended up with a career in high tech crime.....haven't heard from "him" in a long, long time. I wonder what George Key recalls of this - Patty?

Message: Dear John: How unfortunate that you lost all the email I sent you during your absence. I didn't have the audacity to send it thru feedback as I am certain I might have annoyed the rest of the group with my constant whining about CT breakdown (I bothered Patty and Glo and Sis instead) but did send you reminders to return. I THOUGHT YOU NEVER MIGHT. Doin' the happy dance now....: ) Hi to Ingrid - great recall of the area. I grew up on the northeast end of Hawthorne and finished thru high school in Hollyglen. God, what a great place to live...Welcome home John. AND DON'T EVER LEAVE AGAIN. PATTY CAN'T HANDLE IT. Oh, and I too, know the identity of the green phantom.....he/she/it personally autographed my senior yearbook - let's not tell Glo - the phantom will reveal him/her/itself in due time - probably waiting for the statute of limitations to run out......
Note: Sue, Actually I went to Knotts today with my cousin from Tehachapi and his family. Had a great time too. Man I loved the Ghost Rider. It's the greatest wooden coaster in the Universe. Also the Supreme Scream. Thought I was falling to my death on that one. Anyway........sorry I left again.
Also, can you people please let us in on the Green Phantom? This sounds real interesting.

Message: John -
Since my last message actually posted here in "Feedback", I will assume it does not have to be resent (good thing too, it was kinda long). Ah, the circle of life. When I was a kid my dad would regale us with talk of when "everything around here was nothin' but bean fields". Now that I'm the age he was then, I recall when things in Hawthorne looked quite different than they do now. Does anyone remember the big old farm house and barn located on the north side of El Segundo Blvd. just east of Aviation? It was all that was left of the Leuzinger farm. That family owned most of the bean fields around (Holly Glen, Del Aire, etc.) and sold it off, a piece at a time. When I was small there were two brothers living there; old men at the time. The kids in my neighborhood told stories about getting chased off that property by some old guy with a shotgun. I don't know about that. I just remember that they were good friends of my parents, nice folks who would always see us at Christmastime to exchange their box of See's Candies for one of my mom's home-made pies. I never got to go into their house, but I always wondered what kind of ancient stuff must have been stored up in the attic, or out in the barn out back. It's all gone now. They put up a Big-5 on the property a few years ago. Tempis Fugit.

Message: Dear John, At about this time every night since your vacation began, I have broken out in a cold sweat. I even downloaded AOL IM so I could locate other lost souls. I resorted to getting on line with Nordstrom department store and spent an obscene amount of money. I'm sure my husband is thrilled that your back. To say that we missed you is understated. You can see by my beloved little sister Gloria, that I was the cause of severe headaches. You're HOT goods.
