I also remember Mark Ore from St.Joe's. He went on to Lennox High, where I eventually lost touch with him. Pat Bush, how are you, Are you still connected to the happenings within the Forum?

Message: Ok ok I won't say another word...except this. I see the message I wrote the other day is here, and thank you for posting it. Nice to hear from some friends already! But......John Baker, why am I the only one with a grad picture? I hated that picture with a passion! Diane Curless Cohee and I worked for the photographer during his photo session for Hawthorne grad's. We really loved David, of David's Studio. He was a super nice person. But, the thing is I hated my grad pictures and didn't have the nerve to tell him. Mom still has all of our graduation pictures sitting on top the piano at home. Such cruelty I must forever tolerate. The one good thing is that anyone who sees it does not know its me, and I don't tell them other than it must be their foster child or some distant relative... Seriously, I am smiling, it was a very bad picture and you found me out. While I have you here again, are there any reunions planned for my class of 58'? I think I have missed them all! I would love to be involved and glad to help, but only if you promise no more grad pictures of me here! I will even get after Hessie to tell some stuff about Dennis Wilson and the rest of the gang...
Jackie, You're not the only one who doesn't like their grad pic. They were one step above a drivers license photo huh.

Message: To: Gina Black, gosh how I remember you at St.Joseph school with your long red pony tail. I went to school with your sister Mary I think for 12 years. First St.Joes then Hawthorne High. I too am an animal freak. I volunteer for two rescue groups and am in the process of starting my own. Last night I lost my best friend of 9 years (peanut) He was a small little pomerian who brought me years of joy. He was around thru my marriage and my divorce. Stuck by me thru the good and rough times. I just got his teeth worked on (advice from the vet) they pulled 8 teeth, spent $250.00 and 5 days later I lose him. I think something went wrong! Anyway to my little peanut, you will be missed! My three year old says she'll be my new peanut. (very sweet) As stupid as it may sound, for some reason I'm taking this loss pretty bad today. See ya Cougs
I think it's just as rough losing an animal family member as it is a human family member.

Do you remember the square dances in the fourth grade? I saw Mrs. Werham when my oldest started kindergarden ('83), she was the vice-principal. I need to go lay down, remembering back 47 years is really tiring, :-).

I might be confused about the exact location of the market, but unless there were two locations in that area with a log building next to a market, the big log building I remember was originally a Cub Scout/Boy Scout meeting hall. The market was also once called "Wrigley's". Hope that helps.

Anyway, I would like to also request that Mr. Plotkin send me Mr. Mannion's address, or e-mail if he has one. He was the principal for my brother, sister and myself at Sepulveda and was always such a nice man! I would like to also know if anyone knows the whereabouts of a teacher at Sepulveda, Cynthia Cousins, I had her for 4th & 5th grade, she's the one that read the C S Lewis books that we all loved. Anyway, she was a favorite of mine and I would like to get in contact with her, kinda a thank you blast from the past.
Also, Elizabeth Estrada (aka Dizzy Lizzy) I think I might have some pictures of Leo and myself hid away in an old photo album, if you would like them let me know, they will be hard to part with but if you would like them they are yours in a heartbeat!
Sheree, Take them to Kinkos and have them scanned, then you'll both have a copy.

I never saw or heard from Mike after the "Lido" incident, and it is TOM who has the lovely wife and two offspring, who lives in Seattle, and works for Alaska Airlines. Well maybe when I had a party on the boat, but that is a different story. Liz, it really doesn't hurt, you have to take a little at a time? I can't help but think about a few others at Hawthorne and wonder what happened to them.
Ralph Manley 58'(silly boy across the street)
Linda Cribb Lyons 58'
Judd Carpenter 57'(I remember that bright pink chevy)
Don Akins 58'...I think. (he must have been two feet taller than me)
Gerald Sharp 56'...
Fred Wade 58'
Pat Laraway 58'
John Massey 58' (had a crush on him)
...And some teachers...Does anyone remember Mr. Amorelli; general science teacher, Mrs. Richardson; taught art, Mrs. Cable; modern dance. Does anyone remember government teachers name? How about Mr. Heisner; for History? These teachers were around during and before the class of 58'
...And just a note. My sister Hessie, class of 62' was Dennis Wilsons girlfriend at Hawthorne. She is full of stories of those Beach Boys...I remember them well. Mom and dad had a T-bird and Hessie was always borrowing it to go to the 'library' thus the song "Fun Fun Fun Till Her Daddy Took the T-Bird Away". I know she wasn't at the library!!
Hi Jackie, Yes, all the early 60's people knew Hessie. So how come she doesn't add anything to the feedback pages. Hessie, we know you're out there girl. You must have a few dozen stories to share. Thanks Jackie.....

Anyway, I got this letter from Bart Graves today concerning the "Golf Tourney":
"Boys, Boys, Boys... It's time again for that fiasco we call "The Darrell."
Some of you consider yourselves golfers. Others work on the game, believing they can get away with a score below 100. The rest of us are merely hackers, once a year roaming those green lawns, taking up space. All in all, we get together because, above all, we have been friends for many years. We play a two man team, best ball, knowing your partner 10 minutes before teeing off!
Fun in the sun in downtown Bonsall will guarantee you a stress free day with B.S. beginning at Noon, Friday, June 2nd.
You can RSVP, or just show up like some I know.
