Message: Kudos to Jerry Miles! I just finished watching the Brian Wilson videos and John you have created a fantastic page bringing all these videos together, what a joy to see all the Hawthorne classics. Brian has had a rough time of it, I wish him the best. Thanks for all you do John. On another note, I am happy and relieved that the 2 best "net pullers" in the country are back on the SC field! Fight ON!
Hey Debbie, Thanks very much but I have to give the Video credit to Jerry Miles. He does a great job. RE the net pullers. I was there last weekend but warmed the pine this week as they only use me when one of the regulars can't make it. Lots of fun and great guys to work with too.Maiden: Kilroy

Yes, thank you very much 76ers for your generous donations to our HHS Athletic program, and thanks again to all our Cougartown Alumni for your help on the HHS sports crisis. Message: Every October, thousands flock from all over Texas and Oklahoma to the Texas State Fair to see what is arguably the best rivalry in football. You hear Michigan and Ohio State; USC and UCLA; Alabama and Auburn; and many other games that are about way more than just football. But for the last 10 years, this is the only game that has had National Championship dreams tied to it every season. OKLAHOMA vs TEXAS!! This rivalry goes way beyond the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Its about not just two schools, but two states that hate each other. I invite all you Cougs to watch a great football game this weekend. Root for whoever you'd like to win or to get beat. Crimson and Cream all the way. Rick, I think it was my mom that gave you the "Bad News" title and Jim Sloey, great story about the Little Beaver. Hope you see some Bears and Cardinals in the near future. JB, when ever any No.#1 seed is ousted from its ranking, ALL the other schools love it. :-)

Message: Just returned from seeing Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and the band that goes by "The Beach Boys" at the So Cal Fair. It was a fun show and a decent turnout for a "school night". When they played their set of car songs, I thought of you JB and the car crew here at Cougartown. I wore my shirt proudly but other than the guys on stage, I didn't see any other HHSer's.....sadly, the Boys didn't mention Hawthorne once, not even when they played "Be True to Your School"...they did mention Carl and dedicated a song to him...that was nice. My 15 yr old son enjoyed the music, especially the surf guitar rifts. So many songs just take you back....even us Cougs that graduated later...the album Endless Summer is linked to so many events in my life during the summer of '76.
Sadly, Hawthorne is missing in these Beach Boys, but the memories are still in their music. Thanks very much Laura, for the update.Maiden: Twitchell
