Message: Thank you for putting together such a nice gathering! My grandson kept me busy on the slides so I didn't get to visit as much as I'd planned. Dennis Campbell was the only one that could get him to smile, besides Ho-Ho (he thinks my brother Howard is Ho-Ho) I had a quick (nice) visit with the Cook sisters. Everyone looked great. Thanks again!
Thanks Barbara for being there.

Message: Sharon and I had a great weekend, started with The Lady Ducks (granddaughter's ice hockey) tourney and 2 games on Friday, the picnic and helping Joyce win the "Frozen T-shirt" contest, and finally 2 games on Sunday where Talia, my granddaughter, won the Championship. I am the team photographer, so I have over 1000 ice hockey pics that I've been editing. Paco's Pics will be on-line shortly, some with names...I'm getting old (54).
Thanks Paco dude....

Message: Hey Rick McKelvey, Thanks for bringing up the 1969 All Star game won by HAML over HNML. That was one of those "OSU Beavers crushing USC Trojans" like gut ringing experiences. The talent on the Nationals was superior, but the Americans found a way to win. We were loaded with players as you mentioned, including Larry King who shared the series MVP with Dwayne Phelps. I think pitching made the difference in the end. The best ML team I played on was in 67 when Rick Carden led the Dodgers to a 21-0 season including a City Series sweep of the American All Stars. Rick Carden and 6'7" Jim Adams' pitching dominated all year long in a way I don't think was ever matched. Terry Mack, the best leadoff hitter set the stage for our murderer's row of hitters. Anyway folks, as The Boss Bruce Springsteen once sang, "Glory Days, they'll pass you by in the wink of a young girls eye"...
Yep, the older we get, the better we were. Thanks Dean....

Message: Hello JB, My apologies for missing the Picnic, but I felt lousy all day yesterday...I thought it might pass and I could still come late, but Mother Nature fooled me again. I could just imagine what would have happened if I ate and chili or salsa!!!!!! But all was not lost, I had another Cougar siting today at the car show. Coach Fetherston!!!! His car was parked right across from mine and we talked all day!!! He has a stunning custom Black Ford Dream that would WOW everyone at Foster's! What a great guy!!!! And he looks younger than me!!!!!
Thanks John, That's the second Bill Fetherston beach sighting in a week. Doesn't he ever get east of the strand?

Message: Just want to chime in on how much fun we had at the picnic yesterday. Our hats are off to Sharon, Judy, and John for putting it all together so wonderfully. We can't stop smiling. It was great to see Sue and Sharon, Bob and Lisa, the Jensen boys, Adrianne and Alex, the Campbells, etc, etc. Oh, and of course, Mom Baker. She just cracked me up when she said- "when did all these kids get so old... thanks a lot mom! Joyce- you are one brave woman putting on that frozen tshirt. Great time, great food, games and most of all the greatest friends of all!
I totally agree, as it was a truly fun day for all. Thanks very much Bob and Karen, for bringing the inner tubes. Some day we'll actually have the inner tube race

Message: The Cougartown Picnic was a total success from the salsa contest won by Karen (Hoffman HHS62) and Guy Newkirk, to the chili contest, with a tie between Sharon (Bierman HHS76) and Mike Branigan and Bob (HHS60) and Lisa Milazzo, to all the games, music and just the love we all have for one another. It was a great day, for sure. Thanks so much to Judy (DeGrazia) and Jan Blomsterberg, Sharon Moore, Sue and Sharon, Howard "Paco" Duran, and to Dennis Lord and Ellen Wright for nailing down the BBQ areas for us. I would say there were from 70 to 80 people in attendance (some left early and some came late). There will be pictures on Pacos Pics so please check in a few days. Thanks again to everyone for a totally great day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I hope you did too.

Message: Hopefully, someone can help me locate a specific documentary on the Beach Boys. A couple of months ago while at a friend's house in Havasu I caught a few minutes of a BB documentary on the "bio. channel". Since people were visiting at the house I wasn't able to see much of the show. The small amount I did see had some great old footage of Hawthorne and the Wilson family during the early days. This was stuff I had never seen before. Since that day I have been checking the bio channel and looking on line at Bio.com and google for info that will allow me to see the program again. No luck, and no one seems to know what I'm talking about when I bring it up. I don't recall reading anything about it on this site either. So I am turning to Cougartown for any info on what the documentary was called and how it can be had. I assume Rich Sloan would know since he was featured several times in the program as being one of Brian's friends. I recognized him from photos on this site. ??? CJ
Hi Carl, email Rich at rtsloan@cox.net. He'll help you find the video.

Message: Well, tomorrow is CT Picnic Day! Yippee!! It's never too late to sign up - or heck, just show up! There will be fun, games, chili and salsa contests and just plain socializing! Sharon B and I will be there with a table for T-Shirt sales and Membership signups! Cash and checks accepted. NO CHARGE for the fun - Judy Wudy and Sharon L are providing that! Don't forget to bring your lunch and your own seating. The park is wonderful, the weather promises to be perfect and the company - just SPECTACULAR! Looking forward to seeing you all!
It seems lots of people congregate around the Bierman's EZ Up at these things. There's always something going on there so stop by and say hi. They will also be handling name tags too, so please stop by and get one so everyone knows who's who.

Message: Tomorrow ( Saturday ) is the big day. I see that there's a few questions about tomorrow's PICNIC IN THE PARK event. So, let me just make one final announcement... The event starts at 9:00 am, and will go till dusk. We have the first game scheduled for 10:00, so please try to get there early. After that, there'll be a game an hour. If you're entering the Chili/Salsa contests, then bring your goodies early as well. Our picnicers are the judges and the tasting starts early. Paco Duran has agreed to be the official photographer. He's promised me that he will make all the gals look 18 again, and all the men will have hair and a 6 pack. So don't be afraid to pose pretty for him. (hey, wait a minute..in all his pics Paco has no hair) On second thought, he might be lying. If you have any other questions, please email me at judywudy@socal.rr.com or call me at: (310) 793-5910. See you tomorrow.
Thanks again Judy, and we'll see all you picnic fanatics tomorrow in the park. It WILL be a fun day.
