Message: Okay everyone the Sponsorship Package is done. It has been proof read by Sharon Macdonald and approved by HHS principal Mark Newell. I sent it in pdf to John. John can you please put a link up so people can download it. This is primarily for businesses and corporate sponsorships, not for individuals even though it can be. Levels start aslow as $200 and as high as $8,000. There are a limited number of major sponsor levels available. Please post whenever you secure one with payment in full and the sign Application If you see something that is wrong or needs to be added tell me.
Thanks very much Keith for your work on this. The one thing I see is my email address on the top. I really have nothing to do with this one and if emailed by someone, would be passing along the questions to you.

Message: I believe we all have a purpose in life and we are charged with accomplishing certain things. Some people complete their tasks sooner than others. Our friend Alfredo Mercado (c/o ´88) was one of those people, always stepping up to the plate and lending a hand. Mission accomplished, Alfredo. Well done! Until we meet again, my friend. The viewing for Alfredo Mercado will be from 2pm-8pm Thursday, August 21 @ Douglass & Dunaway Mortuary 4286 W. Broadway, Haw. 90250
Service will be Friday, August 22 at 10 am Iglesia Nuevas De Gozo 4454 Lennox, Lennox 90304 After the church service we will gather at Inglewood Park Cemetery 3803 West Manchester Blvd. Inglewood, CA 90301

Message: My donation to the Cougar Athletic Fund is on the way. Dean thanks for the heads up. Paco, Thanks for the Pic in your Pics. I know it is from the El Molino, but I hadn't seen it in quite some time. When Pen passed I put all of our year books in storage. My boys gave me a good trashin' about the hair. Then I showed them my Grad Night picture, the hair was even longer. Last season I helped out the baseball program with practice T shirts for the Varsity and JV teams (HHS does not have a Freshmen Team) and will do so again this year. I will also supply extra shirts to be sold here on CT and at school, during the season. I'm working on Polo's with "HHS Athletics" stitched on for sale to help support the programs. I will know more by the end of this week when they will be ready. As Dean mentioned, we didn't have to fund raise back in the day to help our programs the way the schools do now. Some of the high school programs here in the OC have the student/athletes sign a letter stating the athletes (in all sports) will donate X amount of dollars per year after graduating to aid in the athletic programs usually the minimum is $12.00/year. Others have brick sales, red bricks engraved with name for $25.00 - $1000.00 a brick for students, parents, teachers, and alumni to purchase raising money. By a brick, build "OUR" program... The bricks go on a wall or walk ways. It is good to see who has given and we need to get the word out to our alumni co-horts what's going on and any amount will help.
Hi Wade, Thanks very much for all the help. I know lots of people who are working the same fund raising avenues as we are, and it all helps. Principal Newell said that Target had a job fair at the cafeteria at HHS last weekend and got wind that the athletic program needed help. They donated 4000 dollars towards the program. It is all going in the right direction and thanks to everyone for the donations and the funding raising programs.

Message: Hi Everyone - I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who is contributing to the HHS Athletics Program – I know that a lot of these kids who participate in the sports programs will really appreciate all that you are doing to help them – My husband and I both graduated c/o 1988 and our son will graduate c/o 2010 – This will be his third year in the football program – I really think that this could be a great year for the team – Last year the Junior Varsity had 6 wins – 4 losses. This year they will be on Varsity so hopefully they can keep it up – They all started Hell Week (two-a-day practices for 2 full weeks) today to start prepping for their season - So, if you live close by or are in town when the football season starts, please stop by and watch our Cougars – Plus, this Saturday we are having a Pancake Breakfast – Location is the HHS Main Entrance from 9am – Noon. Adults: $7.00 and Kids: $5.00 – If you would like to purchase a ticket, please email me at jolene_valley@yahoo.com – Thanks again Cougar Alumni & Teachers!!! Jolene
Hi Jolene, Thanks very much for the Feedback. I will be there next Saturday as I am TRULY a pancake and COUGAR lover I will see you there.

Message: Okay folks the Sponsorship Package is done. It is getting proof read right now. This will be something to give to businesses to sponsor CougarFest and the HHS athletic program. It has a brief description of what we are doing and why we are doing it. It also has a brief history of the sports at HHS and a list of some of the prominent athletes that came from HHS. It also has a Sponsorship Agreement and description of each level and info. When it is totally been proof read I will put it in PDF format and hopefully John will put a link up and you can print it out or email to people and businesses you know. Sponsorships range from $250 to $8,000. The button thing by Sharon is a good idea and very cheap to do. So are license plate frames. Anything we can put "I Support HHS Athletic Program and Our CHildren" or something like that. Of course t-shirts too. We need a graphic artist to come up with a design and logo. We can start selling immediately. Maybe Mark Escalante can do the shirts again.

Message: A great big COUGAR welcome to Michael Henderson. Now that you've found out what an amazing resource Cougartown is, please let me encourage you, and ALL YOU OTHER GUYS AND GALS who are Cougartown fans, to send in your dues, PLEASE!!! John pays for this website himself, the only help he gets is when we send in our measly ten bucks a year... so PLEASE show your gratitude and support by 1. Talking it up to your HHS friends; 2. Post a hello or a memory on the Feedback pages and 3. Send in your dues! And, anatta-girl to my most favorite sister-in-law Michelle BuGuy Bierman who is now an official HHS Athletic Supporter (and may I make a suggestion RIGHT NOW that Principal Newell or Keith Jones hijack that idea and give out "HHS ATHLETIC SUPPORTER" buttons to all donors! I personally would wear mine for every sporting event I attend, HHS and otherwise!!!)
HHS Athletic Supporter buttons....what a GREAT idea. Thanks Sharon for that one, and thanks too for the shameless dues plug too. Really, I do appreciate it and a special thank you to all who support our humble Ctown website.

Message: What a great cruise night! Seeing and meeting a lot of new Cougars from the past, brought back again some splendid memories. Anyone who was new to cruise night, please tell some other Cougars about up coming events. Let's make every happening bigger and better than the last. Just sitting there and talking about the past made me wish I could see more and more Cougars from any years. Remember we all have a common bond. The stories that I heard were very interesting, just from the fact that I could relate to the area and the things that were going on at the time. Talking to Don Burn 57' allowed me to understand more about Hawthorne during the 50's, and what was there and what wasn't. Then I talked to Chuck Collins 69' who still lives in Hawthorne and let me know what was happening there today. So everyone who didn't come to cruise night, "You missed out". Also the old car count has increased to about 15 now. But you don't have to have an old car to participate. Just get off your ^#!*, and come to a Cougartown event. I promise you will never regret it, and your fellow Cougars will be happy to see you.
AMEN TO THAT, WAYNE... Thanks very much to you and Donna for being there. You are one of the Cougs I would have never known had it not been for this website. I LOVE YOU GUYS MAAAANN!!!!

Message: Hello CT'ers everywhere, This has been a long time coming…… First order of business; Mr. Baker I owe you the deepest of gratitude and more importantly my most heartfelt and sincerest of apologies. Why? You may ask? I have been a "lurker" here at CT for many years, many more than I am willing to admit to. I´ve had my reasons, most of which have been debated by many others through out the years right here on these very pages, so I wont ignite those fires again. I will say this, Most of those conceptions and pre-conceived notions people have about their impact on their own high school experience might be colored by the darker ages of time. If you have never attended a reunion/class event, or never attempted to reach out to a former classmate, you can never really know how you were perceived by those you went to school with. I write this having done one and finally the other. Which is the second order of buisness, But first Mr. Baker Thank-you and please forgive me? Second order of business; I want to express my gratitude to the class of 78 reunion committee. They did a great job! Everyone who attended looked comfortable and at ease, I didn´t see anyone excluded from the festivities, the DJ was a little loud but we all found a way to visit. The night was definitely to short, I didn´t get to talk to everyone I wanted to. I did enjoy being the "mystery" classmate for awhile I especially enjoyed being called "spicolli" by those who didn´t know (was that you Leslie Greasby?).I also want to thank Frank Lococo and his wife. My wife and his became fast friends and made her night that much more enjoyable. Thank-you again committee members Tracy, Dana Tammy, Kip and Sheri (Sheri where is your email?). Last order of business; ATTENTION LURKERS! Make contact!! Not with just those you called "Friend" But with anyone you had passing contact with, go to an event if you are able, you will not be turned away and you may find someone you missed, I am pretty sure that you will be pleasantly surprised. Or at least post your email here. This is THE place for all HHS Alumni to find one another and be involved with our Alma Mater. On that note I must follow my own advice, I promised more than a few people that I would post my email here so they could drop me a line. This is the ONLY place anyone will find me. I am not a fan of those commercial social sites, I hate spam and I know I wont get any from here, and the CT Info system has evolved into the BEST most secure I´ve seen. Well I didn´t want to be verbose, So just one more thing.... Once again Mr. Baker, In the immortal words of Wayne and Garth... I''M NOT WORTHY...I'M NOT WORTHY...I'M NOT WORTHY
Hey Micheal, Well thank you....I think and no apology needed. It seems, like lots who've lurked through the years, that you too have grasped the significance of "the friends of our youth". Glad you had a fun reunion too. I had talked with Tracy and he seemed a little worried about the turnout, but it seems it all went well, as most do. Come on back anytime, Michael. This is where your friends are, lurkers or not.

Message: We had such a great time last night at Foster's! So many new faces and dear friends. Was wonderful meeting Mark Newell, our new HHS Princpal, nice person. He has a big job ahead of him, but I think he will be good for HHS. Karen Hare, it was nice seeing you again and talking with you. Bruce George, Wow, last time I saw you was in 62, and WHERE did the years go!!!! As always Karen/Bob Fraser and Mary/Richard Sloan, and seeing everyone! Howard Treloar(60) and Howard's Gal Marie, this was a first time for them at Foster's, glad they made it. I could go on and on, I believe this was one of the best turn outs, like I said many new faces, as always Dear Friends. Was so nice seeing the Bell/Vorhis Families too. John, Thank you again for pulling off another get together. Luv ya, ALWAYS A COUG!
Hey Loretta, Great seeing you and Larry, as always. We really do have lots of old and new friends through these get togethers. I loosely counted about 80 people last night. One of the best turnouts for a Cruise Night. Saw Bill Sutton who was the head custodian at HHS in the 60s when I was there. Bill, You still look as good as you did at HHS. Thanks for being there and thanks to all who showed last night.
