Message: You know, I'm glad that the swords have been uncrossed with the main celebs that were the heart of COUGARTOWN a few years back. Along with many early contributors, some are still with us. Some still stay the course and reap the benefits of this fun. Of course I'm talkin about the big guy, JB and Judy B and her husband Jan. God bless our troops. Glad to hear they're going to be at "Cruise Night". Wish we could hug ya all. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU! Jake N Jude.
Ah Russ, the swords were never crossed with Judy and me. I love her to death and she knows it. Wish you two were going to be there tomorrow night too. Go to town and have a soda or sumthin' and drag Doris with you.

Message: With planning already underway for the Class of 1968 reunion has there been any talk or beginning planning for the Class of 1969 reunion? I haven't worked on any class reunions but I do put together business and leisure group activities every day and know how much time, planning and effort is needed to make these functions a success. Just wondering if anyone else has thought about this yet.
You da man, Rick, Gettem started early. Actually next Sunday our class is having a Reunion Committee Reunion. Never too many get-togethers for me.

Message: If my memory serves me correctly the trampoline place on the west side of Hawthorne Blvd near Imperial was part of what we called "Tinkertown". Don't really know whether that was the true name or just what we caled it. They also rented those tiny tear drop vacation travel trailers.
Hi Kathy, The Tinkertown you speak of was called Rockwell Kiddy Land and the Boyce family owned the Teardrop rentals next door.

Message: Sorry, John, I won't be able to make cruise night either. I have a conference I'm going to this weekend in Phoenix. As for trampolines, I went to grade school and junior high in Redondo Beach, just off the border of Hawthorne. There used to be a trampoline place on Artesia in North Redondo. I spent a lot of time there. When they closed down I was broken hearted. I really did get very good. I could do flips and all that good stuff. The owner told my dad they did have to close because of insurance issue. Too bad! Come to think of it. The owner of that trampoline place owned the fortune telling business next door. You'd think he could have foreseen if someone was going to have an accident and not let them on.
Yes he could. The stars don't lie

Message: Kendrick McKelvy - did you go by the name Ricky McKelvy? And do you have a sister named Karen? I'm having a real flashback I think - softball at Eucalyptus Park - a little kid got zonked right between the eyes with the ball and had the most horrible black eyes I ever saw in my life! Are you that kid? And yes, I remember that house with the trampoline! It was Bruce Buscher's house. Right next door to Phil & Edna Boyle's house - Diane Elliott's grandparents. I had such a crush on Bruce. . . .Okay, flashback over.Betty

Message: I will miss seeing you John and everyone at Cruise Night too but I think it would be quite a drive for us (about 10 hours), maybe I can schedule to be down there for the next one, it might be fun to swing by Sacramento and pick up Jan Freeman. What do you think Jan? Cindy
Hey Cindy, I just talked with Debbie Miles, Jerry's sis, who has been care giving for her brother the last few weeks, and she said there's a Fosters in the area, so maybe the Sacto-Fair Oaks group can don their Ctown Tshirts and have their own Cruise Night on Saturday night. I know Anita Harmon also lives in that area and with Jan and a few others, it might be a fun time. Think about it Sacramento.

Message: Regarding trampolines, didn't the ones by the 5th ave. also have miniature golf? Also on the corner of Crenshaw & Imperial Hwy. where the bank building stands today. Any one remember the private house on Inglewood ave. & 123st. across from the gym at Eucalyptus park? They had one in their backyard. They dug out the grass so it would be level with the ground. Everyone in Cougarville have a great day.
Same to you, Kendrick

Message: Hey, John Boy; Wasn't there one of those Trampoline places next to or near that mom and pop carnival that was located on the w/side of Hawthorne Blvd. near Imperial Hwy? I remember it did not last long because somebody got seriously injured and a lawsuite shut them down. Shortly thereafter the fad grew cold and for one reason or another they all disappeared. More than likely, it was the cost of liability insurance due to the many injuries caused on the Trampolines was the reason (I'm Guessing).
I don't remember it there, but maybe someone does.

Message: I remember when I thought the words were "Return to Cinda" to that Elvis tune Return To Sender. My Friend Laura and I would sing it and think of her sister, Cindy Maxson. I even think she was called Cinda back then.....It brought back yet another memory that I had forgotten....Made me smile...Thank you for that Cougartown people! Also the statement about the trampolines that were built in the ground. I totally forgot about those! I remember seeing those and always wanted to do that....but my parents always said "NO, YOU'LL BREAK YOUR NECK ON IT"!!!
