Message: First off I would like to thank my mom and dad and of course god for giving the opportunity to be the #1 poster on Cougartown. It has been a long hard road but it has finally paid off. Also, (while I grab my notes) I'd like to thank the little people who also helped make this honor a reality. Of course big John Baker, Jim Sloey, and Kathy Lynch who I was in love with in high school and was too afraid to say and always hoped I would see her on here and the whole class of 76' (music starts to play) and all the others from this great place called Cougartown, and of course I have to thank myself for having the kind of life that allows me to screw around on the computer while still living a great life, and to the people who I..................
You brought a tear to my eye, Keith. Seriously, thanks for being a part of Ctown.

Message: SLURB, when you were chugging a coke and it came out your nose; FLUID CHARIOT a gas hog like a 53 Dodge I once owned; , CHA-CHA-CHA want to dance?;, YOGI a good buddy; ALL TIME the best.,
A SLURB is a thick Malt (you were close Jim). A Fluid Chariot is a car full of gas (again, on the right track). CHA-CHA-CHA is a chatty girl. All Time I will give you, and a Yogi is a wild dancer. All these came out of a 60 Cougar News, but I had never heard them before. Probably some journalism 101er made them up

But I?m not sure he hung with the cool kids back then?haha. But don?t go ape trying to figure out the answers. I?ve given them all to JB so if someone guesses right (or wrong) you?ll know right away.

Message: Oh those early sixty Cougars. They sure were a bunch of kool kats. And as most teens they had a language all their own. By the time I showed up a few years later I think these words had come and gone. But would anyone out there care to try and figure out what these kids were talking about when they said things like SLURB, FLUID CHARIOT, CHA-CHA-CHA, YOGI, and ALL TIME in 1960?

Message: One of my fondest memories of my Freshman year was having Mr. Harvey for Algebra. He was also our class counselor. I loved to hear the stories about his Navy days. I didn't care much for Algebra or any math for that matter, but I always looked forward to going to his class. I hope he is still with us and doing well. He is one neat guy!!

Message: Sharon Bierman left out a bit of the Eagles story. When she approached me for permission to go on this adventure to open the concert cheer leader style that Betsy Watts had won on the radio by being the first caller, I would not allow it unless her big sister, Susan came home from Cal State Fullerton to act as guardian against those big bad rockers. I just recently learned that they were invited back to the Eagles hotel room and it was my guardian who insisted they go. They took one look inside the door and reason pervailed as they realized they did not belong there. God only knows what they saw! Little sister was the guardian on this caper.

Message: RE First 1000 Feedback Pages: I've been compiling the totals on the first 1000 Feedback pages for the last few days and it hasn't been easy. If all had added their REAL First, Last, and Maiden name, it would have helped bunches, but you get into the Judy Degrazia First Last Maiden: Judy Degrazia Va Klempt, Judy Egrazia The Rowdys, etc. or The Jim Sloey First Last Maiden: Jim Sloey Dancefloorblues, Jim Sloey Andapartridgeian Apearshapedqbtree, Sloey Hoodsindahoodinoctober. And Robin I won't even go into.
Anyway it took some extrapolating to get this list correct. I've added it at the top of Page 1000 if you'd like to take a look and thanks so much to ALL who've supported Cougartown over the last 10 years.

Message: Reading the post with regard to Pat Desmore's passing that he would be happy to know he is helping others brought tears to my eyes. Ten years ago when John Baker launched CT, I was lucky to be on page one of feedback. At the time, I was in Tucson AZ recovering from a heart transplant. Today, I can say that those that Pat will touch shall be given a wonderful chance from a man that understood so very well the good that will be found in people when you look. Pat... you are in our prayers. Gods speed home.
Hey Frank, well said and glad YOU are still with us, my friend, in more ways than one.

Message: To: All I have received many emails and have read the "Feedback" page. Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. Pat's memorial service will be this coming Wednesday at 1:00. We live in a Sr. Mobile Home Park so we are having it in the clubhouse. Pat's body is being donated to Iiam a nonprofit organization for medical research and donation of body parts, that someone else can use, to make them better. Pat would be happy knowing he helped someone else. It's a hard time right now but that's ok because I'm sure when all this is over with I will be very lonely. Good, bad or whatever, Pat left his mark on all that knew him and those are the people you miss more and don't forget. It's not really real to me yet. Thank you again and God Bless You for caring. Maureen

Message: John...I was trying to check out Williams Grade School on 135th Street and Yukon ave. when I found that "Punishment" site. Anyway, back in the late 40's, Williams was called "Williams Street School" and I was wondering why? I can't find any streets around there by the name of "Williams" Do you think they might have renamed Yukon at some time? Does anyone have an early Hawthorne map and can help me out? Thanks...David P.S.:(Hehehe)That's were I got the "paddle" a few times back in the days!
Hey Dave, I've got a 1928 Hawthorne Map, but Hawthorne's boundary was about a half block east of Prairie at that time. I do know 135th St, east of Prairie, was called Strawberry so maybe Yukon, or one of the cross streets, was Williams in the early days. Can anyone help?

Message: JB1...I was just on the web doing a bit of research and came across something called, "World Corporal Punishment Research"...You'd be happy to know that Cougartown has several inputs (Pages) on their site. I guess it was when you all were chatting about getting "paddled" during school. Isn't it something how Cougartown gets around? Of course, I never had to worry about getting paddled at school because I was always so "darn good!" (Hehehe...Yeah, right!) I thought I was the only one to meet one of those nasty paddles with the holes drilled in it, until I read about some of you other heathens who caught it too! John...also I wanted to say, "Congrads" on going over page 1000. That's just way too cool!...David
Hey Dave thanks very much and thanks for the "heads up" on Corporal punishment. I'll check it out.

Message: Man, what a shocker; I just spoke with Pat a short time ago via E-mail and telephone and he said he was living in Las Vegas. We reminisced about old fosters stories and he told me about how he was with Bobby Bausman when he passed several years ago. Pat, Larry Porter, Bob Bausman and myself all started in the drafting field back in the early 60's, sponsored by Kenny Blomsterberg. Pat always portrayed himself as a tough guy, but if you knew him, he had a heart of gold and would always have your back. God bless Pat and say hello to Bobby.
