Message: Love the concert topic. Got to see many shows (Aerosmith, Styx, the Cars, Foreigner, Rod Stewart) while at HHS thanks to tix connections to the Fabulous Forum. Still love concerts...I've seen close to 90 acts total. First show was Peter Frampton (sigh!) in Dec 1976. Most recent show, Chris Cornell, who was just amazing. Best 3 live shows ever: The Who, U2 & Heart. Happy 1000 pages, John!
Thanks Connie....

Message: Today is Thanksgiving. A day for expressing gratitude. So often it takes tragedy to wake us up, to make us reevaluate our lives and appreciate what we have. I guess the reason for this is that when tragedy strikes, everything becomes instantaneously prioritized. We realize what matters most and what we care about and anything that is not essential is ignored. Yet when things are going well it can be easy to overlook the blessings in our lives. We can take for granted our health or the relationships we are fortunate enough to have and rather get caught up worrying about our mounting bills or dripping faucet or being stuck in traffic. Yet each and every day we are blessed with so many things that happen, starting with the fact that we wake up in the morning to another day ahead. And each day, every single one of us has something to be grateful for. Sometimes these things are big, such as getting a wonderful job offer, sometimes they are small, such as the fact that the baby slept through the night. But the more we focus on what we have to be grateful for in our lives, the easier it is to deal with the challenges and tests that we may face as well. So I would like to say "Thank You" to John Baker for creating this incredible "vessel" that has touched so many of our lives and to encourage all of you to share what you have to be grateful for in your life, not just today, but every day. Big or small, it doesn't matter, they are all important to share and important reminders that our lives are filled with blessings and miracles, constantly! God Bless ~
Well said, Anita. Thank you...

Message: Congrats John on 1001 pages. Cougartown is the place. I think my brother Alex first told me about this site, or was it Tony Domenick? First concert: The Beach Boys @ the Great Western Forum 1974. I was in 8th grade. I was hooked for life. Grand Funk, Led Zeppelin and Elton John also @ the Forum all during the 70's. Proud to say I have seen Santana 4 times, once a decade starting in 1970. The last concert: the K-Earth 35th Ann. Concert @ the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in September: Chicago, Doobie Bros., War, the Stylistics, and the Four Tops all played...The Doobie Bros really brought the house down ...America and Chicago @ the Greek (also this year) most memorable: my first: The Beach Boys, what else. well John thanx again for all this, who would o' thought? You really are da man...Happy Thanksgiving to all.God Bless
Well thank you Margie....

Can't remember what led me to this site to begin with, maybe a search in planning the 20th reunion but what's important is that this has become a Hawthorne Home for many of us spread across the world. When we count our blessings Cougartown is on the list. God Bless John!
Thanks very much for sticking around, Laura.....

Message: Hey John and Fellow Cougars: What an amazing milestone 1000 pages of sharing stories, entertaining, bonding with old and new friends! I doubt there is another high school or college in the country that has achieved this level of involvement for so many so long after our HHS years. JB has lit a fire from the 1950s through the 1970s and early 80s. Let's hope the more recent classes can identify with CT and accept the torch once it passes to them. Happy Thanksgiving to all!Dean
Thanks Dean, I do really hope the later classes catch on here. It's their website too.

It's been cool getting to know people by reading their words. It's a warm and comfortable place to visit. Thanks Big Guy. *** (Saw John Mayall last Friday -- he's 73 and still rockin' the blues.)
Thanks Jim, and thanks for your wit too. I always look forward to your stuff, MAAAANN!!

Message: I Cougaled my name and found out that my first post on here was in July 1998. Oooops, I think I said 1997. Anyway, Cal Kappen had told me about this site back then. I had just missed the BIG "First 10 Years Reunion" and was very disappointed that I hadn't heard about it. Now, with Cougartown, there is no excuse for missing any of the reunions! JB, it was such a trip to find out that you knew my cousin, Charlene. One of these days I hope to bring her to a Cruise Night so you two can re-unite. I'm glad you and I have had all these wonderful Cougartown years to be friends. This site has been such a life-altering experience in so many ways for so many of us. It's been great!! I just wonder where I would be right now if it hadn't been for you and Cougartown.
Thanks very much, Karen and do bring Charlene to a Cruise sometime. It's only been 52 years since I've seen her. Thanks too for your dedicated years here and for becoming a great friend whom I would've never known.

Congrats and I'll see you before we hit the 2,000th page.
