I'm sure you didn't get much (if any) sleep last night because of the huge pile of feedback messages your fans sent in. I just wanted to add my $.02 worth. I am one of ones that gets on the office computer an 0700 and checks up on the Feedback that came in after I shut my own computer off the night before. It's not like I don't have a life but you have added a whole other dimension to all our lives. Due to my being on the four-four plan for my junior and senior years, I didn't spend all that much time with my fellow Cougars. Until you started "Cougartown" I didn't realize how much I had missed. This is like getting a second chance. (I've had a few of those lately)
I can't thank you enough for all the time and effort you've put in here, and for almost 40 years of friendship.
CONGRATULATIONS YOUR HONOR !!

I loved that old tank but it kept breaking down and one day my dad said that was it. He no longer wanted to fix it. It was out of my hands. That same day he went out and bought me a cute Chevy Nova SS convertible. That one my X husband made me sell. What I wouldn't give for either one of those cars today. Thanks Steve for the fond memories of my Willys. I remember the night I brought it home with raw eggs all over it. Think that was Halloween night. Also the time I ditched last period and I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and a old drunk ran into me. Boy was I in trouble for that. My brothers were so good and I was sooo bad. SLOEY
Pat Burris was cool, but MIKE Burris had "THE CAR" that I thought was the GREATEST, and I'm a Chevy lover. Mike had the coolest "3 on the tree", Red 1960 360HP Ford. Mike, if you are out there, I have a confession to make. You had brought the car into the Flying A station on 118 Pl and Inglewood Av. where I worked the day shift. The owner, Earl Cottom, knew better than to leave the keys to this Bitchin' Ford with me, so he told me he would do "whatever" to the car on the night shift. Now I'm sitting there in the office in the middle of the day, in this "nothing to do" gas station, looking out at this beautiful Ford (the doors were NOT locked). That was a BIG mistake!! That was the FIRST car that I ever "Hot Wired"..... and it WORKED!! I took a jumper cable and attached one end to the battery and the other end to the coil. I "screwdrivered" that Ford solenoid, that sat so proudly on the fender well, and it fired right up. I sat there for about 5 minutes just listening to it idle, shaking inside, knowing this was WRONG. Then this voice said, "take it around the block." I gave the "OTHER voice" about 13 nanoseconds to chime in, and nothing was heard so I TOOK IT AROUND THE BLOCK!! YES MIKE, I took that big bad Ford for a ride around the block, and it wasn't a EZ ride either, if you know what I mean. So now after 36 years you know the rest of the story, and I do now apologize for that. If you show on Cruise Night, I'll buy you a cone, then we're even. Oh Sloey, sorry about stomping on your feedback here. I'll buy you one too.

I gave my mom your moms address and she said she would write. At 81 yrs. young, she was amazed that you could find someone after so long.
Does anyone remember Kresges (next to Clark Drugs)? I was at a Woolworths yesterday having an old fashion milk shake-where they bring you the metal cup that it was made in too-and it reminded me of Kresges little luncheonette and how they used to have balloons at every table with different discounts in them. You had to pop the balloon to see if you got your meal free or just 25 cents off. Tell me I'm not hallucinating and that this really did happen!

Sooner or later something this much fun will fall on a date that my husband and I can get to Hawthorne for. We who attended Hawthorne High School are very lucky. Not only does the Cougar Spirt survive but the school does too. The school my husband graduated from is now the site of apartments. It did not matter that some pretty famous people (including Orson Wells) also attended the school. I attended 3 other high schools before coming to Hawthorne in my junior year. At Hawthorne High, I never felt like an outsider. Having been quite shy in those days, I didn't make a great impression on the school, but it made an impression on me.
