I remember Curtis was at Frosties ALL THE TIME. Curtis lived on the north side of 136th St. I know because George Gates, my friend, lived about 3 doors from him. That was in 1956. Does anyone know his whereabouts today? It would be perfect if we could find him by Saturday, and let him know about cruise night. ANYONE??

Message: Hi Jim. Don't mean to be mysterious. I'm trying to figure out an itinerary where I at least have a chance to get a glimpse of my home this weekend. If I can figure that out, I may need to hitch a ride since my car is in Las Vegas. Ohoh, I may need to hitch a ride with Peter and Allie. Hitchhiking or bumming a ride today is a bit different from when I was in high school, I need a couple more seats and some seat belts. Offers? I'm trying to arrange the tix now. Sounds like too much fun to miss. But, no wheels, no airplane tix, YET. Hey panadero, what happened to my Queen declaration? Thanks v3 and v6 for sparing us the whining and, most importantly, the flatulence.
Yes, THANKS for that. I know I can't take V3 and V6 ANYWHERE!!! If I do, it's "Wait in the car", "Wait in the car", "Wait in the car"......MAN!!!
Patty, I'll come and get you and the family but I'm going early to help set up. If you want a ride and help set up, just sing out. I'm taking "Kermit" as I need to haul some things to the party. Let me know.
OH, and that darned Queeny thingy.......yeah.....uh....we're ah working on that ah...yeah.

She's right, we always played with all our hearts and I believe the U.S. women play with all their hearts, all the time. This is a refreshing flip side to a lot of men's sports, where how much they earn is a bigger headline than how well they perform. Congratulations 1999 U.S. Women's Soccer Team! Let this just be a prelude to the success of women's soccer everywhere.

OOOOHHHH!!!! Now I understand. I was thinking of the ONE policeman Hawthorne had in the 30's story. Denny Unfried sent me a picture of a motor cop from the 20's and it wasn't Tommy Cummings but a Tommy Parker. Must have been Tommy Cummings' mentor. This might have been the only one they had in the 20's.

We'll probably load the dog's in the back of the pick up and go hang out at the feed store or maybe go on down to the bridge and see if the electric light still works. Well Pilgrim......Do you have any chaps, spurs, a Winchester and a 6 gun?? Come on Pam. The big thing you wore in the 60's was diapers, but that might bring an early curtain to cruise night. I'm wearing blue jeans (they had those then) and a T shirt. Seeing as I don't have any 78 El Molino pics, here's where the Heath family grew up (Cedar Av). I took this yesterday.

John, I hope you don't mind, it's just that I thought it might be the kind of warm hearted human-interest story that those news guys love to cover once in a while. Message: Congratulations, John, on the 100th page. A big "jackrabbit" salute to you and your apparent labor of love. My lovely wife and I will be there Saturday with our "ears" on. Hope nobody from the c/o '60's gun club brings their .22. I know how much you guys hold a grudge.
Awhile ago you mentioned that we haven't heard much from 1950's alumni. Has anybody thought they may not be computer literate. My parents graduated in 1954 (Morningside) and they don't know a byte from a bite, and could care less. We need to find a way to get the word out to them through some other medium, before we lose them. I for one would like to continue to learn about the South Bay area during the 30's and 40's.
Does anybody know that Hawthorne only had 1 police officer in the 30's, and he rode a motorcycle. Also, does anybody remember the police officer who cruised the A&W in the 60's kicking out non-customers (kids hanging around). I understand he wasn't very nice about it.
UH Bob....First let me say that I've got your "Jackrabbit Ears" RIGHT HERE!!!
Now, The HPD had more than one Police Officer in the 30's. If my Dad, God rest his soul, was here right now, he could name them ALL. The cycle cop that you're talking about was probably Tommy Cummings, but Bill Deal was the chief then, so there's two. I think I've got a picture of the 30's force here somewhere. I know I can get it from someone. Kathy and Steve, are you listening?? Thanks Bill and wear those ears, but remember there'll be lots of BIG COUGS there that played in that game and who knows what'll happen after a few slushy's

Message: Congratulations to Supreme King of Cougartown, John Baker, on this monumental achievement. 100 pages of friends, old and new, doing what the internet was designed for. I regret that I will not be able to partake of Foster's, but I will be there in spirit, and will down a DQ Blizzard in your honor.
Now we have somewhat of a dilemma facing us. From my experts, I have found out that there is a P2C (Page 2 Hundred) bug that will cause Cougartown to crash, taking all members with it. We need to act NOW to ensure that this horrendous outcome can be averted!!! According to the techies and programmers, the only way this can be done is to plan an even BIGGER event for the time that P2C roles around.
(How about a contest to predict the exact date that P2C will arrive?)
John, thank you for a wonderful experience. Long live the King!!!
Hmmmm.....wouldn't want the site to crash taking all the members with it......especially me!!. Maybe we WILL have a contest to see when Page 200 will fall. I will get with the Wizard of the Castle talk it over with Habib at 7-11 and see if we can't squash this nasty bug before it rears it's ugly head. Thanks for warning us Alan.
