Message: Keith, it seems to me that a little school called Boise State beat those guys from Hawaii again this year for the 4th or 5th time in a row? Seems that Boise State is the 2nd non BCS team to make a major bowl game for New Years Day in history. Just announced today, with two Sports Illustrated All Americans on this little engine. One first team, one second. First time for us in the 10 years of this large school program. Don't get me wrong. Hawaii had a darn good team. I think Boise State will have their hands more than full with O.U., as would the Rainbows. It will be a wonder if they make it through without getting squashed. But here we are! Go Broncos! The little engine that might make it. It would be good for college football for a win. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU! Jake N Jude.

Message: THE BEST QB, Keith? You need to take a real good luck at "The Mainland" QB's, okay? And, I hope Longhorn fans appreciate my cousin, freshman QB, Colt McCoy! Two younger brothers behind him and dad's a respected high school coach, too. Win or lose, I've enjoyed our Razorbacks this season. Merry, Merry Christmas to each and every one of y'all and let's all kick back and enjoy these bowl games!

Message: John, I LOVE YOU MAAAAANN and thanks for letting the page morph into Bruin Feedback for the week; I remember secretly cursing every time I had to tie a scarlet and gold tie (merely to represent the tatterdemalion tennis squad), as I was a Bruin fan even back then and wasn't too fussy to sport USC colors, though I managed. One of the standout early scarlet-and-gold memories of high school for me was showing up for Latin class as an inauspicious and underfed freshperson and seeing Important Footballing Seniors Wade Greasby and Gene Skulick in the same class, with their freshly flattopped heads, ready for their big season, decked out in red-and-gold Cougar/USC jerseys, and then seeing those very same guys in the same jerseys running the field for the Cougs on Friday nights. I would have celebrated this recent Bruin triumph a little more, but it's been so long I forgot precisely what to do. Have merry holidays, man.

Message: Mr. Bickers yes I have to admit for some reason they don't go to football games like they do on the mainland. I guess you can blame all the other things to do here. Last week though we did have a sellout. Hawaii made some mistakes last week that cost them the game like missing 2 field goals from less than 20 yards. Oh well.

Message: I don't know how those two Greasby brothers got such a nice sister. They are the two most ornery Okies I ever met. Gloating about a silly game. Kirk missed the big game shoveling snow, he thinks Big Red won. I have no idea where he got that info. Keith is carrying those rocks 400 feet under the water again for 20 mile stretches. Obviously one of them fell on his head. Last time I looked Oregon State beat Hawaii in Honolulu. Al Rocca has it right, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! God Bless us everyone!

Message: Three quick items. Having played in two losing efforts against USC, I am thrilled for the UCLA team members but still am not sold on the coach for the longer term,(Kind of like I feel about HHS football). I too did something differant. We usually watch the game from top to bottom, but this year we went to Disneyland. When the game was over there was a large cheer around the park as so many people were following the game on radio. Last, Keith, all things are not better in Hawaii. I went to a UH game with about 17,000 other people in a 55,000 seat stadium and watched them win. It was more a track meet than a football game. Remember 40 good players will beat 25 good players everytime. The Hawaii team would wear down against a top 20 team. Just my opinion.

Message: My husband and teenage daughter have been UCLA Football season ticket holders since she was two years old. This year my husband gave his UCLA v USC ticket to my daughter's boyfriend because the boyfriend had never seen a college football game. After the game, the poor kid (who is completely intimidated by my husband) was scared to death that his girlfriend's dad would be mad that he had given away his ticket for such a good game. We assured him that my husband would attribute some of the team's good fortune to the good luck the boyfriend brought to the team. Sure enough, my husband told the kid he'd better plan on attending many more UCLA games in the future! We really know the Bruins played an awesome game, but just in case there is any truth to this good luck thing, any Bruin fan who did anything out of the ordinary the day of the UCLA v USC game - keep doing it!

Message: The report of our classmate Roger Rouse's demise in the Oregon wilderness while snow mobiling is true. The info has been confirmed by his sister Melanie to Ken Bianchi, Roger's next door neighbor in Hawthorne on 132nd. St. Roger and I grew up on the same street, attended Kindergarten together, were in cub scouts together, and our parents were friends. I remember walking to HHS and once in awhile Roger would stop and pick me up if he saw me. He had a car and I didn't. Roger and I were never best friends but I know he was a good guy with a big heart. The news made me very sad and that started a flood of memories. For all that read this, please silently say a prayer for Roger, that his spirit be at home with the creator.

Message: Everthing is Everything. It's all good, John. I earned my Degree from U.C.L.A.. Just showing a little support to the team. And to the Quarterback, who was a student of mine in P.E., @ St. Mary's Middle School. Go Bruins. Ring that bell! It was a great game.....To Jody Weishaur. Your words of support about the City of Good Neighbors and Hawthorne High School were heartfelt and outstanding! My sentiments exactly! I have worked for the City Parks and Recreation Dept., since I got out of High School. Though the ethnic diversity has changed since we were kids, I still feel at home and safe, when I am working there and giving back to the community and kids what Hawthorne had to offer me growing up. God Bless Hawthorne, and Hail to you, Hail, HAWTHORNE HIGH. Merry Christmas, fellow Cougars.

Congrats to all the Bruins on Cougartown? The team that plays the best should win and last saturday the Bruins deserved to win. The Cougars played that way in 74 in the playoffs when we had a great game and played over our heads against a highly favored Loyola team. Happy holidays to everyone, even the Cougar midwesterners!

Message: JIM JIM JIM , BILL BILL BILL, WADE WADE WADE... Thank you for an entertaining week of e-mails and a great football game to top it all off. OU beats big red! Let me guess, the huskers team; "came out flat and out of gas." Is there any more excuses sc could use, instead of facing up to the fact that they were "BEATEN" by a better football team?? Go BRUINS!!! Can't wait to watch the next 2 years with Patrick Cowan at the helm. As for Norm Chow, he's found himself a nice home in Nashville, Tennessee as Offensive Coordinator for those Titans. Isn't that the ex-TEXAS LONGHORNS quarterback on that team? Good combination.

Message: Hey Dean, I'm in awe of a football program that can continuously do what De La Salle has done. But even my MIGHTY U.C.L.A. Bruins of the Alcindor, Walton eras, only won 88 in a row at a stretch, I believe. They might have won 150 plus for 5 or 6 years. But my gosh...high school football? Unbelievable! They've lost, what...3 games in 13 years. Not human. They've got to be buying someone or somebody. Maybe the Ole UCLA coach did, but this is the "Coming of the Aliens". If they can continue to beat Poly, Mater Dei, Evangel Christian, Hawaii. I have no clue. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU. P.S. I respect religion, but not in this venue. What do ya think Coach Chauncey?
