Message: Hello all, I have been trying to heal from my car accident. I ran over myself. DON'T ASK, really dumb. I have three fractures in my pelvis, a fractured sacrum, and fractured left heel. It is difficult for me to get on the computer because it us difficult to do almost anything right now. Walter is right about the reunion. In February I offered to help with a reunion if others were interested. Only three people responded; Walter Holt was one of them. If you are going to do one, you will need about 2 or 3 classes to join together to have enough people to get a reunion company to help out. Hopefully, if you have one, I will be well enough to attend it by November. Good luck. Got to go, can't sit too long.
Hi Sharon, First of all, get better. Sounds like you're feeling pretty bad. And secondly, when anyone asks, on the Feedback page, for help, probably only 3% of the Ctowners from your class listing is looking at that page. Next week we'll be onto the next Feedback page and that weeks 66ers will be here. If you REALLY want to ask for help, you'll have to email your class. That is why it's SO IMPORTANT for everyone in all classes to make sure your info is up to date. Here's an example:
I tried emailing someone today. This person is home recupering from a surgery. I emailed them from the email listing on the Alumni List because they usually get their email at work. The email address doesn't work. I emailed the work address and I get a notice saying I'll be off for 3 weeks. I'm totally stuck in limbo until they get back to work. So Cougs, PLEASE keep your email addresses current. It's very important.

Message: My cousins' (Jim and Norval Vorhis) phone number was OS5-1508, and I remembered ours until I started to type it! Jeez, getting older is the pitts! Oh, OS5-2702. Nice comment, John, about Gordon not getting rid of anything - I told him he can't die before me, because I'm in charge of everything if he does!!! He'll be here tomorrow for a short visit. My latest Cougar sighting was of Mike and Chris Angle ('67 & '66) when they drove their bright yellow PT Cruiser into my driveway last week! They look great - we had a very nice 4-day visit.
Thanks for the sighting, Myrna.

Message: What great memories have been shared, lately!....I especially enjoyed Russ's (of Jake & Jude) account of his days riding in the back of his coach's pickup truck with the rest of his ball team! And thanks again, Jerry, great job with the Disneyland photos...they really brought back those days for me. I remember our old phone number was OSborne 6-1286...and I think we shared the partyline with our next door neighbors, Donna, Jennie & Karen Hare!...boy! that was a long time ago!
That would have been a fun party line to listen in on

Message: Loved the Disneyland flix ... Coincidently, when going through some old family photos to scan and make a e:albumn for all my siblings, I found a Disneyland photo from about 1962 in b&w showing the Matterhorn and the ski-lift ride with the gondolas. This is from a family trip to the park where my mother embarrassed us all. After waiting in a line that circled the lagoon where we watched the submarines (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) go around numberous times on a track, we finally got on the ride. As it started they simulated the feeling of diving at which point my mother began to yell, "it's going down, it's really going down". Hubby and I were at Disneyland last November for Thanksgiving and have decided that a crowded park is much more fun than an empty one. We were at Disneyworld on 9-11 and everyone fled in rental cars. We stayed put and after a tropical storm passed through, spent a day where there were absolutely no lines for anything.

Message: Thanks for the great memories about Disneyland, Jerry. I had to check out CT before I started on paperwork. Your Disneyland slide show made me want to drop everything and head out to Disneyland. I liked seeing the slide of the house of tomorrow! All that stuff was SO MODERN then. I've been there twice since Christmas and once to just walk through DownTown Disney. Because of the anniversary bash, I was told by a friend not to miss the fireworks display in the evening. I thought 'big deal fireworks, haven't we seen them all?' I was so wrong. It was Spectacular! Absolutely amazing. I bought myself a charm bracelet commemorating their 50th anniversary. I certainly did not need to do that but I've always wanted a charm bracelet since I was little so I splurged. (Tinker Bell ROCKS) It is so full of charms it is heavy to wear. It will probably be a while before I go to Disneyland again. Oh, my phone number was OS5-2061. Later.

Unfortunately my parents did not buy my 1968 HHHS Annual. So I have no pictures of anyone. Does anyone know where or how I can obtain a copy of the 1968 HHHS Annual? Keeep cruisin'!
Hey David, Ebay for yearbooks....just keep looking.

There wasn't anyone named Keith in the class of 76 was there?Yes, Keith is attending and quite a few others . . . but there are many who've said they will attend and who have not yet gotten their tickets. Is this revenge on Sharon for all those Cougartown ads? I hope not, 'cause Guido and Nicki are not exactly eye candy as doormobsters and bouncers. Get those tickets now and escape the wrath of Branigan . . .

Message: HOT AUGUST NIGHTS (Reno, NV) Just wanted to mention that it was great to see some of you from Hawthorne! Mike Angle was there early on so we were able to have a great talk with him, thanks so much for coming by Mike and please any of you always feel free to contact me anytime at jpjcl@jps.net --Of course the Beach Boys Historic Landmark web-site is always there for contacts and information too at www.beachboyslandmark.org We still have Landmark Bricks available and the next inscription will be in October so might want to grab one while you can, as the large bricks "are" going fast. I really enjoyed the Beach Boys show, and was able to chat with Mike Love back stage a bit before the show about the old days too. (We shared a laugh as the loveable but "oh so hyper" press agent from the 70's and 80's was a great memory to share...) Aside from their great music, I think one of the best moments in the show is when Mike and Bruce imitate the rap artists of today... You gotta be able to picture them grabbing their crotch, pulling their pants up, giving the hand signs and moving to the sounds of rap from the band as they did these gestures, lol. Just Hysterical!!!

Message: I really liked the Disneyland video. I love Disneyland. As a kid we always went at least a few times a year since I was real young. There was one summer around 78' or so where me and my friends went to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm so much that people that worked there knew our names. I swear we probably went to each place at least 20 times that summer if not more. I have only been maybe 5 times since I moved here (89'). I need to get back.
Hey Keith, You can go to Disneyland when you're in town for your Reunion in a couple of weeks.

Message: I love the Disneyland nostalgia video! My sister and I made a visit to SoCal in July and went to Disneyland. We allowed ourselves to enjoy it like we were kids again, reliving all the old places and memories. It truly is a magical place to visit, expensive, but magical. It has changed a lot since I was a kid, but the essence of the place is still the same. I hope that next year I can go back for my 25th reunion and share Disneyland and the beach with my kids.

Message: I remember my old phone number..679-7330. My address was 4526 W. Broadway, that was changed from a 3 digit number (412 I think) sometime in the early '60s. You could also get around the phone lock by tapping the hang-up button the same number of times as the number. Number 679-... tap 6 times, pause. Tap 7 times, pause...etc. The reason tapping 10 times would get the operator, was due to the "O" on the phone actually being the number "10".
It was easier to call the operator..

Message: A few days ago while I was at work a girl came in named Jennifer or Jennette Gross and we started to talk...We brought up Hawthorne. I told her I was born there...then she mentioned her dad was from Hawthorne and graduated from HHS. His name is Richard Tiedy and he is 64...guess that makes him the class of 60. She said he lives out in Camarillo CA. I gave her the CT website. She seemed anxious to tell him (so did his granddaughter)....If you are out there Richard Tiedy...Hope you love this site as much as I do! So I guess that is a sort of, kind of, maybe, a Cougar sighting!!! I remember 2 numbers I called a lot as a kid....676-7704 and 676-7708....I hope I got those right. One was my friend Nancy Martin (69) and the other was my Aunt Lucille Hahlbeck from around the corner. My first number was 676-6764 and later 676-0292..another thing I can recall about the old phone numbers was all the funny phone calls that Nancy and I would make on the phone....I don't remember ever getting caught...Flushing the toilet was one of the calls we would make.....All I can say about this is...we were very young....
Yes I remember that one too Thanks Jean, for passing the word.
