Message: Hi all...would like to ask for good thoughts and prayers for the military men & women stationed in South Korea. Our son, Cosmo, is there, right outside the DMZ, and things have been pretty tense. I know it's not Iraq, but they are far from home too. Thank you. (Sorry John that this isn't a true Cougar feedback, but at least Cosmo was born at Hawthorne Memorial, and what an experience that was!)
Hi Bonnie, No apologies needed. Our prayers go out to your son, as well as all our Fighting Men and Women all around the world.

Message: I have received several inquiries from Hawthorne alumni about the surfer involved in the shark attack last year in Destin, Florida. That surfer was me. On the eve of the first anniversary of that attack, I just wanted to say I think often about the members of the class of '68 (and '69), and want to remind all of you to turn to the person or people you love right now, and tell them so, because life is "here today, gone tomorrow..."
Well said, Tim, Thanks for the note and welcome to Ctown

Message: COUGAR SIGHTING! Now I got bragging rights! Last Saturday I drove up north to Olympia WA for an air show and I made arrangement to visit Debbie Crede c/84. Even though I only knew her for just one year during my Senior Year (met her through my girlfriend who also is c/84) we met up again a few year ago in 2004 for a mini reunion(4 of us). Debbie is still the great person I remembered and I am glad she and I renewed our friendship and we keep in good touch with each other. I have a question about York Elementary school. As I recall didn't they have a stage in the cafeteria? If so, I don't ever recall having a play put on for the family. Was this due to budget cuts? I enter York's in the 4th grade in 1973.
Hey Raymond, Thanks for the Cougar Sighting. Don't know the York answer but someone does.

Message: Wow! Name dropping really works. I happened to drop the name Cindy Whittaker, HHS class of 1976, in an e-mail that I sent to a local radio station and her cousin gives me a call. Too bad I wasn't home! I guess he wants to give me all of the real info about her. He is even sending me a CD that I may pass along to John Baker.
Well now, what have we here.

Well we ran this 85 Dive and the next thing I knew the Rolling Hills Guy was crying and yelling something about having no childern. So leave Mr. Keith Jones alone people! What he says is true. Message: Along the lines of staying in touch (how's that for a segue?)I've heard through the grapevine that some folks are planning to come to the HHS 76 Reunion "after dinner" to meet up with old friends, talk about the good old days, etc. Let me make a public plea here and now: Please do NOT do this! We WANT you at the reunion!!! But, it's VITAL that you buy a ticket. The committee has laid out several thousand dollars to make this event happen, and several thousand more are on the line. We MUST sell tickets to cover expenses. If you just show up, you are not only hurting the committee, who put our hard-earned cash out for your benefit, but you're hurting all the other Cougs that put their money on the table as well. Please know that EVERYONE is welcome, but we really need you to do the right thing and support our efforts by buying a ticket. And by the way, if you're sitting on the fence wondering if you should come, the answer is, YES- so get off the pot and send in your RSVP already! We've got 90 and counting; it's gonna be a blast! Thank you. Now, back to our regular programming.
All Right 76ers, Sharon is so correct. Your Reunion Committee has put their HHS BUTTS on the line for YOUR CLASS, not to mention UP FRONT CASH out of their own pocket, so you can have a Reunion. Now how fair is it for you to show for a freebee to see your friends when YOUR OWN REUNION PAYING FRIENDS are footing the bill?
Please don't do this to your own class. Buy a ticket, enjoy your friends, but do NOT forsake your OWN Class Reunion Committee who have worked very hard to pull this all together for YOU, and put all the money up front to get YOU all together....
Buy a ticket and enjoy your friends. You KNOW all your PAYING FRIENDS will know who the FREELOADERS are, don't you? BE A MAAAANN, BUY A TICKET!!!

Message: Ya know, Liz Soto, I read your story and I had a conversation with a guy tonight you might get to know if you continue to write to C-Town. You don't know him well, yet, and I told him, that I had said enough and rambled on about lifes stories on Cougartown and was old enough that people would probably be weary of my rhetoric, stories, etc of HHS, life, and Cougartown. He told me, if you wait, it's too late. Don't wait to tell anyone of your fun, the dreams you had, stories like the 60's girls sharing a sink? Huh? When there was only one POT-TAY. Right Judy Wudy? Kinky to me. Most of us have lost loved ones since leaving HHS. Maybe all our dreams didn't come true. But here we are. All sharing this venue. Vicariously living through each other. I've gotten a world of pleasure from this web site. For about 7 or 8 years now...John Baker, thanks alot. To you who've heard too much, too bad. To you that haven't heard too much...too bad. MAY THE COUGAR BE WITH YOU. Jake N Jude. Thanks JB! P.S.. Gary Bickers, I wish we could make the reunion and Picnic. Jude and I would love to see you all. And beat Easy JB in a game of PPoooollll.
To all who haven't figured it out, I called Jake tonight in IDEEHO and we talked for about, well, 53:41 (I just looked at my phone) Do NOT wait to talk to your friends. I HATE the stories about, "I just talked to him or her a few years ago, and they were fine". ALWAYS talk to your friends, people, as they are getting older.
Thanks Jake and Jude, I will send your 45th Anniversary present tomorrow. I LOVE YOU GUYS MAAAANN!!!! ALSO, the new song on Ctown is dedicated to you two.....Enjoy

Message: Everybody is outside in my backyard from the sounds of it.... My flashback today was the thought of having to go to summer school for not paying attention in my English class at Hawthorne High. When I read my posts and notice the spelling and punctuation errors I think,...Damn, summer school at Leuzinger didn't help either.
What's with that......I went to Summer School at Leuzinger too and, to this day, am STILL an IDIOT!!

Message: There is a neighborhood that sits behind the trees in my backyard that reminds me, by it's sounds, of our dear old Hawthorne. Today was the last day of school for the children who live there and there are, by the sounds of it, many children celebrating that fact. It is summer! I'm sitting at my desk with the windows open and the music of their screams and laughter are all I need to be taken back to those carefree days on 133rd Street. Kelly and Chuck Currie, Linda Spivey, Mike, Katie and Susy Spensko, Diane, Karen, Ronnie and Gary Considine, Robin, Chris and Tim Hood, The McLaughlins, The Krikacs, my sisters, Sharon, Vicky, Linda and Laurie, my brother, Leo and all the others who ran through the streets... With the hoses squirting each other or water balloons flying, the sound of a bat hitting a ball....summer vacation was announced! Have a great summer everybody. Fire up the grill, put on some Sea and Ski and pour yourself something liquid over ice and remember the feeling of looking up at the classroom clock as it ticked to the last minute of the school year....Yes! Freedom!
Hi Liz, GREAT memories there, as I too remember our street, and the "sounds" of Summer Vacation. Thanks very much..... By the way, WHERE IS EVERYBODY!!!!

Message: I would urge everyone to click the more information section of the 1962 class reunion invitation on this website. It sounds like a very differant and very fun reunion. Leave it to George "the promoter" Rea to pull something like this off. Although not a member of the class of '62 i did attend their reunion at the HOP in Orange County and this next sounds even better. Have a great time.
Hey Gary, YES, this is going to be a fun weekend for everyone in attendance. Looking forward to seeing our classmates in September. The price is right too, so all you 62ers, please contact Linda Jones Reynolds at linrey@yahoo.com and get signed up as we're expecting a full turnout.
